Rise April is legendary. The GOAT! No other April will surpass. She got to be tough, funny, supportive, and she did it all without being a love interest, needing to be rescued all the time, or sidelined to make the boys look cooler. Rise April is the BEST! I will fight nickelodeon if I have to to bring her back!
As someone who's been a fan of TMNT since the beginning, I'll admit that when I started watching this show, I was skeptical of this version of April. But after a while, she started growing on me. Now, she's one of my favorite versions of her (next to the 2003 and 2012 version). My favorite thing about her is how scrappy she is. She still needs help every now and then, but when push comes to shove, she'll duke it out with the best of them. Heck, she even messes up the Turtles a few times. Long story short, I like April in this show, and I think she deserves a chance.

@@ashesGeek Agree to disagree sure she has her arcs with her powers and her dad, but then when those stop she’s basically just the token girl of the group. ROTMNT April in my opinion just has better chemistry with the turtles, better writing, and while her arcs aren’t as big as parent kidnapped by aliens, but her smaller arcs about accepting her normal, finding her place in the world, but also having to shoulder the responsibility Karai gave her. Honestly she just feels more flushed out out the gate then 2012 felt the entire series. In my opinion.

And she was married to a french guy named ZeFronk who was an artist from Paris! And he reminded Karai of her own brother because he wanted to be an artist too! They were married Karai & ZeFronk! And together they had baby twin daughters Chloe and Zoe! And April O'Neil became friends with the twins! And so did their cousins the Ninja turtles! And as you know the twins had a total crush on Casey Jones!❤
I never thought they would make April O'Neil a black skinned woman! I always thought that April is supposed to be a redhead and white! But it doesn't matter so if I make my own version of April O'Neil she would be a fashion designer and her hair would be silky and red and it would have yellow tips! And she would wear a yellow hair ribbon with a sleeveless dress black leggings and matching yellow flat shoes! And in my version she would be voiced by Hynden Walch! And in the original version she used to have a friend named Irma! But in my version Irma would be a gothic girl with black raven hair and white skin and she would be a snob! She would also be really jealous of April! But April wouldn't be the only girl in the cartoon! If you remember Karai I could picture her having a ponytail that's long and black and she would wear emerald green! And she and April would make friends with two girls named Chloe and Zoe who had a crush on Casey Jones! Cool version huh!?

Eastman and Laird have both even gone on record as saying it's not the case. She got a perm in issue 4, which lead people to believe that the haircut and shading in a black and white comic meant she was black, but she just had a perm (a common 80's hairstyle for white girls). Peter Laird has said that pre-comic, like in the concept stage, she was sometimes designed to be mixed race (white/asian), but April was never meant to be a black girl. Honestly, look it up properly, it's pretty abundant info about it. And it's not about 'white is better', it's about missinformation.
