    I have severe fatigue all the and I was diagnosed 3 years ago but never been without fatigue and headache. Thanks for sharing your symptoms

    I know exactly how you feel. I was diagnosed 19 years ago, in 2000. It's so hard because people don't understand what it is. Thanks for sharing.

    can it cause pressure-type headaches?
    Not throbbing, but more of a severe pressure feeling...

      Yes, I’ve found that it can cause a pressure-like headache feeling! I find my headaches can feel different depending on the day! The headaches are definitely hard to describe too!

      Thanks for your question! The diagnosis process was a long one for me since the doctors were not sure what was originally going on. The first step was an MRI. Since my MRI showed signs of intracranial hypertension, the next step was a full ophthalmological exam. This confirmed that my optic nerves were swollen. The third step involved having a lumbar puncture also called a spinal tap to check the opening pressure. If the opening pressure is high, intracranial hypertension is confirmed. Idiopathic is confirmed only when all other possibilities for the raised pressure have been ruled out.
