2 Corinthians 8:9 and Ephesians 1:6 aren’t contradictory, they’re complementary. It was for our good and for His glory, just as it is with His providence.

It benefits the elect, the chosen Remnant, by way of his commitment to us the way a true Father is permanently eternally committed to his children because his own father was committed to Him.
