    Gorgeous yet haunting perspective of our home . Well done 👍🏻

    Great video. The footage is taken right as the sun is cresting the mountain, which would put it at about 6:30 in the morning. Still makes a big difference, but 6:30am on a Sunday on any give week wouldn't equate to much traffic and full parking lots.

    Brilliant music to go with the eerieness of the scenes!

    How come every time I had to go out for necessities there were so many vehicles? Beautiful video but I have not seen it this dead on the road!

      These video collections were shot at the crack of dawn, which in April was around 5:30ish am. Everyone was still sleeping or eating breakfast

      @@razen944 Exactly. I just looked that up before seeing your comment. At the time of posting of viddy (May 14) sunrise was 5:12. So you're right on about being shot at 5:30am, and it could have been Sunday morning.

      @japes2168 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go to the 1:38 marker. That's a 4am sunrise coming over the mountain. Streets of Kelowna are always dead at 4am.

    A few people have asked about the timing of the capture of these shots. All clips, except for the airport, were captured in April during the peak of stay-at-home efforts and were captured between 6am and 11am.

    • @dl7093
      @dl7093 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shawn Talbot timing is everything with this.
      I would say 6am on a couple of Sunday’s.
      I’ve worked every weekday throughout this so called “pandemic” and there’s been cars and people everyday around.

      What about the airport footage? I am so curious if that's even something someone can get permission for?

    WOW. Fantastic work people of Kelowna showing the world what lockdown should look like.
    The sooner every city does this the sooner we can get back to normal.
    Stay safe everyone.

    • @LindseyMonica
      @LindseyMonica 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking the same thing. It's it crazy how much concrete there is. It's hard to imagine that the Kelowna needed to build so many streets and parking lots in the video, but I've seen Kelowna during rush hour.

    How did you get am SFOC to fly the airport? Everyone I know thats tried got denied.

    • @aaronm2620
      @aaronm2620 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I was watching this video and this was my question. I said to myself, "This is insane, you basically have to be a pilot to get that kind of permission."
      So then I checked out Shawn's website and found out he is actually a pilot.

  • @aitaix
    @aitaix 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    How did you film the airport? Isn't that prohibited?

    • @shawntalbotphotography
      @shawntalbotphotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Thank you for the question. Normally it is, yes. However, I am licensed by Transport Canada, operate a registered drone and was in contact with NavCanada and CYLW tower controllers prior to and during the flights to capture these shots.

      I live here. Where is the non stop valley trafic. Right put the hoax in the spotlight in a museum. For our kids too look back on and shake there heads.

    • @theqball80
      @theqball80 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Alex M He (hopefully) means that the video as an archive is disingenuous. The streets are bustling save for a few areas and parking lots. If people look back on this they might actually think the city came to a standstill which just isn't true.

    Very misleading. Of course nobody is gonna be out on the streets at the crack of dawn in summer and maybe a weekend. Sure a bunch of parking lots r empty since the business doesn't open at like 630 am. I live near the corner of hwy 97 and highway 33 and there was barely a difference.
