If an ebike and motorcycle had a baby, we imagine it would look just like the Volcon Brat. It's basically a Super73 made for adults who prefer something a little more serious and refined.
We've reviewed a lot of ebikes on the channel that are inspired by motorcycles, but the Volcon Brat wins the award for the best-looking one. With its sleek design, powerful motor, aggressive stance, and full suspension it is sure to please motorcycle enthusiasts looking to make the jump into ebikes.
In this review, we unbox, setup, walkthrough, take it for a spin, and tell you what we love and hate about the Volcon Brat.

I love it. I have super73 R, like this look much better. Storeage is awesome. Twist throttle 👍
Right on!
doesn't urs come with twist throttle? i thought Super73's do come with that depending on the model of course. Sucks here in EU countries in general (i live in Denmark) were limited to 250w motor with a top speed of 15.5mph / 25 km/h 😔 therefore we don't have many options of e-bikes to choose from. The one I have is HIMO C30R MAX E-Bike, i wish we had more options, top speed and motor like u guys. Hopefully i can come to the states some day and buy one and ship it back to Denmark or maybe live there eventually do an exchange course as part of my school for the sake of having a more versatile e-bike.
How do you feel about the speed (unlocked) and throttle only life? Seems great for what I need in city travel but most comments shit all over this bike.
This has 'The Look.' I really like how you guys stress safety first. Many TH-camrs jump on an ebike or scooter with just clothes on and speed down the road. This channel's awesome🍺cheers
Appreciate the support!
Exactly! Most TH-camrs give a terrible example on safety- it’s awful and it erkes me! They wear flip flops, no helmet, or a bike helmet when riding fast eVehicles.. or nothing…
ebike is pretty much the future. you have something like this can ride to work or leisure. and it's environment friendly.
About time Volcon made an ebike. We need more American ebike makers. Now if only they also made their motors here.
40mph is the new benchmark..30 just doesn't cut it due to the regular 30mph speed limits and people doing 35-38mph..this def is a great S73 alternative.
S73 has a 25% bigger battery than this bike
The reason is so it can be classified as a e-bike and not a vehicle that you have to register with the dmv
@@RegulatorSevenZeroSeven that doesn't matter. They sell it locked and can be unlocked later for "off road" use like everyone else does
@@NeptuneSega Sure I'm just going into technicalities of whether it would be required or not.
Been waiting for a legit review of this ebike. Been stuck bw the Brat & Onyx CTY. The use of pedals and the speeds bw the two are what's making it tough to decide.
Depends on what you're looking to do. If you want to keep up with traffic, CTY2 easy, it can do 50+MPH. If you plan to ride the trails and bike paths, Volcon.
I am always impressed by your garage. It's beautiful! But more importantly it's very well organized, especially considering how many new vehicles you receive.
Great bike, and I like the way you changed from Hate to Don't Like
Great review, FC! They have an after market shock available on their website, now. A game changer for those off-road rides and curb jumping opportunities 😎
Thanks for the info!
This has a lot going for it but for me to buy, it needs improvements:
Higher top speed, wheelie acceleration like a Sur Ron, turn signals, bigger battery. I’m still waiting for that perfect blend of a Sur Ron and e mountain bike, but it appears manufacturers are getting closer.
I finally kinda sorta like the frame a little more than most . Not the best ,but close enough.
You are hard to please! We’ll find something you like sooner or later.
@freshlycharged you know I make my own scooter frames, and test them from a jump the height of a semi trailer ( suicidal for most scooters, and bike frames ) I have a little trick that makes them much more stronger I will share soon. 😎
They need to quit making 48v e-bikes 52 should be the standard the difference between the 2 is insane
Your review was useful. I have been looking at this particular e bike for the better part of a year. I live in a small city in California that happens to have a bike trail, and am pretty attached to the black one. I’m 5’7”. So as far as hight is concerned this cafe racer/crotch rocket style should fit me perfectly, and I can’t wait to get my own. Thank you for your review. It helped immensely.
Did you purchase?
Amazing bike for the price 🤘
⚡ *I think I've heard of the brand before, either on your channel or another PEV channel* ⚡
I defo like the alternate "colourway" with the white walled wheels.
With a few changes it could be a full on electric cafe racer, maybe a slightly bigger motor, remove the chain and pedals, use a bigger battery and that would be all.
I saw a homemade electric bike a year or so ago, based on an ICE frame but the entire front end of the frame where the engine was was cut and a huge battery structure was made, also a hub motor, and it looked pretty good, the rider had a mix of a cafe racer with chopper stance.
You guys do an awesome job. I’ve been shopping for a moped style e-bike. I’ve ended up at about 5 of your videos and know when your pop up in a search, the video will be awesome. Keep up the great reviews. Thanks guys!
they never gave us the price for the volcon !oh well on to the next bike !
man how do u guys have space for all these bikes , scooters and ecus? do u raffle them off or do giveaways?
Storage units exist
@@Jeremy-ff3jm aren't you the brilliant one lmao
Ok but the Ariel Rider X-Class exists at 52V 20ah 1000W motor and currently $600 cheaper.
Thank you for the in depth review, there are so few right now - How is the pedaling? I love the look of this bike and don’t mind the top speed but I love biking really far with my friends in the summer and we’re all planning on getting e-bikes next spring. The volcon brat is the one I’m getting but I know with how far we go the battery might run out and I’d have to pedal. I only have owned 7 speed bikes and not sure how a single speed e-bike would handle
This bike would be a winner if it goes 40 mph.
Yes
That waiver is a deal breaker. I'll buy one that just goes fast. Signing something that says I will ride safe is ridiculous. I'm an adult. That's a cool bike though. Great video!
I think a lot of the Ebike companies got sued for allowing riders to exceed 28 mph without signing a waiver. Some other companies have lowered top speeds after app updates recently.
@@Andrew-vt4jt Lawyers love to sue. I guess that makes sense since you don't need a license to ride these things, but I'll still avoid these type of agreements.
Sad that the market has already moved to 52V in this category and this is only 48V. It's too bad you can't put a second battery in the storage compartment. It's good looking bike, that has some really nice features: full grip throttle, bluetooth with app, etc.
Not up there with the the Ride1Up Rev1 given the price point, but a decent alternative if people prefer looks over the nerfed features.
@ashegam 100% agree. I have the rev1 and have come from Super73’s. Rev1 ftw for the value by far!
The bike looks awesome! Wish it was more powerful and better battery
The Fact that it does not have turn signals is a no go for me
An idea for the channel would to see some drone footage of each PEV
The bike looks great, but like so many of these designs it's too small!
I think most people would want something more like....
-24 X 5 inch tires
-35 to 60 Ah battery
-Triple tree + dual rear suspension
-#10 spokes or mag rims
- 7 speed shimano
I will pay a more for such features
maybe they dont ride bikes they just make them so they dont know what to like
I really trusted Freshly Charged, but this video seems like a sponsored video with-out the disclosure that it is sponsored or at least they get some cut from the promo code
Completely agree, this is a promo video, not an honest review.
Great review which got my subscription. I own a Rad Rover 6 Plus Step Through which works well for me at age 70. I like your helmets. Are they simply motorcycle helmets?
48V battery is a deal-breaker. No excuse at this point to not have a 52V battery. And then obviously 750 instead of a 1000W motor is double-nope. You can get a 2022 Ariel Rider X-Class 52V battery w/1000W motor right now for under $2k, so getting this bike is dumb.
Agreed
Will you reviews the Weped F1 in your future reviews 🙏🏻
All these bikes need to start having solid heavy duty rims.
Wish it had duel motor or a 1000w hub
Love its style yes a small bmx style bar would be cool so you don't lean over to much but it's very nice 👍🏽
I road this today, not sure why you’re saying the Suspension is good. The rear shock is stiff as can be and it does make that boing noise going over bumps. The bike looks great, besides that it’s another china replica. Top speed was 29 mph for me weighing at 160 lbs. $1500 and this would be OK however at 2700 which they started at us a stretch. Even at 2k right now it’s still overpriced for what you are getting. The rev1 is by far superior by this for $2295.
awesome review
Awesome bro
I like it because I like the bicycle aspect, but $2,500 is just a starting point, this bike needs some work out of the box.
Did I miss it, or did you guys not say how it compares to the Ride1up? Seems like this doesn't really do anything better
Another cracking review; thanks.
Do you think the bottom “hinge” on the storage compartment could be secured with a couple zip tires or hose clamps?
One thing I like about this is the FULL SLEEVE on the twist throttle.
How does this compare to the Juiced Hyper Scrambler 2?
any advice for adding turn signals to it?
Hey guys , really dig your channel ! Last year you did a review on the Beecool challenger & i watched it over & over again when you first dropped the video … anyway I got the challenger not too long after … it’s almost a year now since I’ve had it … super cool bike .. anyway to keep it short how do these two compare ????
Awesome little beast 🤟
Soon "e-bikes" will go 60mph. But yet we still won't agree to call them motorcycles.
Spit on a cupcake is still spit, not frosting.
A pig with lipstick is still a pig.
A motorcycle with pedals is still a motorcycle.
When do we stop lying to ourselves and each other?
If it gets you outside and active then great!
If you have the time of your life with these, then awesome, positive vibes to you, keep riding brother!
But please, let's not delude ourselves and the masses, these are motorcycles.
Snitches get stitches
Anybody have any info on the headlight size? Ordered one recently and trying to get a headlight grill off Amazon for it before it arrives. Thanks.
Nice
Very nice
Thanks for the review! Could a smaller person ride on the back?
Ok. Two questions. Near the Seattle/tacoma area is there a shop that can repair them? 2. How is the durability?
Cool review 😎
Sorry But what helmet are you guys wearing ? And thanks
Never once saw you pedal. Does it have pedal assist? Does it work well
Hi!
I wanna know what that blue helmet you are wearing is?
Does it powerful to take a on steep ramp ?
Discount code not working. Do you have updated one? Thanks a bunch!
Nice bike but I hate spoke wheels on a emoped...I rather mag wheels they look better..
Where did you get those helmets
I wish they had two seater be even fire 🔥 what is top speed for level 3 ?
its water proof right
how many miles on one charge?
Do you know what freight company handled it? Awesome bike and video!
I’m not sure what the name of the freight company was but they should be fired. 😂
@@Andrew-vt4jt 😂 I work for one, we definitely try hard to keep things nice! Something else probably fell into it that wasn't properly secured
Would it be comfortable for anyone thats 5,11?
What was your top speed ?
I wish I could put that motor on my bike
9:42 do they offer a updated controller?
what's funny about super73 look is that people on bike lanes can get mad at you for riding on one
People are always finding ways to get mad.
@@freshlycharged true
it is too top and super beatiful
Can this handle a 52v 20ah battery?
1:03 pause
5:53 gorgeous
Sweet
8:16 how i like em 😂😂😂😂😂
It’s grippy 😂 iykyk
WHATS THE PRICE...😢
my parents won't buy me the volcon brat and they took my money. :(
Can I please have one of your bikes
Whats the range?
70 miles!
Please don’t slap the camera lens it’s rude!!!
💯‼️💙
so how can I get a job with u
why you saying volcon like a ratard
😂😂
Kinda basic.. no gears, low quality shock for 2.5k not impressed. I know others of higher quality with 60V batts that top out at 40mph for $500 less 🤷
One can get an Ariel Rider X-Class with a 1000W motor and 52V 20Ah battery for under $2k -- so I don't know why someone would buy this Volcron over that.
Came here just to say, this thing is not a beast and it’s the crappiest thing volcom makes…
Do you own one?
