I believe this card is from “1998” even though PSA lists it from “1999”. IMO this is the OG Charizard and much more collectible than the base set we all had as kids. Sad this card isn’t considered the holy grail tbh.
Super underrated. This card should be worth much more too. IMO this is the “Holy Grail” of Charizards even though most of the American population seems to think it’s the 1st edition holo base set one. Grab one while you can!
Best guess is because it’s a part of the unnumbered set of Japanese promos that began in 1996. 1996 is also the year the first Japanese cards released.
@@pokehistorian6172 thanks, I've been looking around at these a bit more and now I'm noticing something else. Not all the CD promo Charizards are labelled 1996 (by PSA). So far I've seen 1996, 1998, and 1999. Yet when you look at the photos on ebay the backs of the cards look the same and just say 1996, even for the 1999 one.

This Charizard is very underrated, in my opinion is more nostalgic than the base set one
Definitely, the art is classic!
I agree that and the blaines charizard too they just look so cool and nostalgic af

Ahhh that’s why the image of this card connects with me! Same image as red…thanks man
No problem!
K have this card should I sell it?
Ill buy it!!
If the CD came out in 1999 why does PSA list the card as being from 1996?

@@wonderingnomad2932 very interesting, sounds like you have a great eye for detail.
I believe this is from the 1998 “Trade Please!” promotion release to be exact.
