I wish the US domestic airlines would take a lesson from foreign airlines on food service. It’s the small details like the little snack that makes all the difference. Great trip report!❤️✈️
Domestic carriers have been cutting back food service for decades. All about the bottom line, cut an olive here a tomato there would save them tens of thousands untill the day came and there was no service.
I agree with you but They did take notice and did the exact opposite. The US airlines in general and the legacy carriers in particular kept shrinking the food service till there was none left. They would calculate taking an olive off for example from a service would net then 100k yearly and it would be difficult to restart for cost and competition from airport restaurants and bars. .
They withdrew all 757s from service quite a few years ago. They are basing their fleet on 767s (to be replaced by 787-9s) and A321neo (including the LR version) aircraft.
Did several flights on KC, in economy and also in business, and was not so impressed. Minus when it is about boarding : le staff is totally lost and there is no rules at all, the most intrusive enters first, despite the priority. On board I found the pitch quite poor in business, and seats are very large and kill the pitch, with additionally something on the floor - maybe in relation with IFE as it used to be on A340. Who can accept to watch a movie on IFE in business and to wait for a long announcement, sometimes several ; come on .... Last night I was on ALA-Astana A321 in business, and they served... breakfast : departure 0:35 !
how was the flight from one to ten? Did they have excellent customer service and dining? Did you check in a bag? Were they strict with the checked and carry on bag weight.
Good Video .FYI the CEO Peter Foster Air Astana and all top management are British ..🇬🇧 Almaty is an interesting city more Modern then Tashkent ..and Hip
All the locals I know hate Air Astana because of the high prices they charge - in relation to local incomes - and endemic delays which are handled poorly by ground staff.
I'm gonna guess that your favorite NFL team are the Giants, your favorite NBA team are the Knicks, your favorite MLB team are the Mets, and yiur favorite NHL team are the Islanders
Nice, comprehensive review. Thanks for highlighting a lesser known airline like "air astana". I am always glad to learn about an airline that seems to realize that the "little touches" like decent meals, friendly cabin attendants and reasonably comfortable seating makes all of the difference in the world to present day passengers who are used to pretzels for a "meal service" served by grumpy and burned out flight attendants. Take care and have a great week. 🫂❤️✈️🙏🌎🕊
Thanks for the review! See you again on board! ✈

Thanks, I agree! US airlines definitely need to step it up with food, especially on longer flights.

Wishful thinking

i agree..but they are way too greedy for our money
Love Air Astana, great fares from Georgia, Uzbekistan etc , their 757s are just as nice , One of the best airlines I've ever flown
They’re getting 787s in a few years. I bet they’ll be really nice too

Because boeing is being boeing we might get them later (not 2025)
My favourite airline for years, their tea with milk is best on an airplane in my opinion
