I don't understand how someone can hear this and think that Christina did a better job. Shoshana may have had some not so clean moments, but she slays Christina's strainfest without mercy.
Actually I can relate to her because I do sound I am straining to listeners on high notes but the funny thing is that it is done with no strain at all, it just the quality of the voice.😂 But Im not in any way as good as her.
The most astounding thing is she is still singing this rendition, with that climax and everything. She is such a vocal beast and she will be singing until her last breath
i love this song so much, mostly becz of sho but come on, how amazing is she!!! unreal!! she desrvs every bit of sucess she has to come!! keep singin!! from london england!! xxxx
Beautiful voice, AWESOME range and I love the bangs, but does it bother anyone else that every Broadway diva sounds like she had the same voice teacher? Except when Miss Bean's in the higher range - it sounds real!
@@LoriWhite I'm sure some of it is rooted in technique, but it does seem like musical theater training tends to stamp out the "character" voices more and more.
She killed this song when she sang it @ the BET Aretha Franklin tribute. I saved on my DVD for years. Aretha was looking like, "whatever". I know she was impressed.
Oh wow @ "Who knew Caroyln Franklin wrote" *raises hand slowly* XD. Still, I learned that somewhat recently because I started to get more into Aretha's music. LOL @ "You guys learned something there tonight at the upright cabaret. Hit it Jake!"
After I chewed my variety of meat, I went on the stage and I was gonna be a big queen like her. Then I come back to the cafe; being dressed up as a beautiful big queen. I was screaming a Bb6 note because my Mother gave me a big variety of meat. 🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩
@DreamloverLambi the difference maybe is that other people don't talk about "bitche version" when Christina sing and th difference is that Aguilera is a famous singer, it's a common thing for her, here it's a not a star, it's an amateur singer show and I think that's a good version, but I prefer Patti Labelle of course. =) People can be sick but they stay correct, they have some preferences, that's all.
@saucesacla Well, than we can agree to disagree. Everyone has their own opinion! In my opinion, she is better than Mariah, 'cause her voice sounds more... lived. It may not look that way on this recording, because it is from her "earlier" years, but if you youtube her now, she's phenomenal! But, that's just my vision :)
Grant Fontaine if you tried to sing Aretha’s version you’d lose your voice. If you tried to sing this version your throat would turn into a pillar of salt. And that’s nothing but true facts. On top of that she displayed so much emotion in this performance.
it's not a soft song its a plea of desperation...there aint nothing soft about this song whether aretha sings it or patti or shoshana...they all exude the same desperation, cry, and plea this song needs from the singer
@dragontato1 No one's perfect, but Shoshana is a hell of a lot better when it comes to staying in tune, even if you take Xtina's performances as a whole. Xtina's sustained notes are usually messy, when they're actually on key they're not close to the center of the pitch.
I thought after seeing Sisaundra's version I wouldn't come across someone who could top hers but Shoshana killed this omg

I really think her vocal chords are made of steal. Just WOW. 👏👏👏👏

she is my favorite beltress of all time! diva!! (but in a good way!!)
WOW I love her!
I thought she did phenomenal at the awards but this took the cake!
AWESOME
Beautiful voice, AWESOME range and I love the bangs, but does it bother anyone else that every Broadway diva sounds like she had the same voice teacher? Except when Miss Bean's in the higher range - it sounds real!
This is late, but what do you mean by the comment about the voice teacher? Lol
@@Scandisk10 just the same brassy tone…it’s gorg and I get that it’s a b’way standard practice. Just…why
@@LoriWhite I'm sure some of it is rooted in technique, but it does seem like musical theater training tends to stamp out the "character" voices more and more.
What note is 3:52 Wow! It so so high. It is like a very strong full voice but actually a falsetto and can be as high as a whistle.
It is Bb6 which is too killing.
Find the song "never untrue" it is amazing. Sho Bean rocks !!!!!
3:49 She is A6n it!!!!
3:49
My mum asked why was I kneeling in front of the computer...
She killed this song when she sang it @ the BET Aretha Franklin tribute. I saved on my DVD for years. Aretha was looking like, "whatever". I know she was impressed.
Jesus! Love her.
This sounds messy in places bur I still love it :)
She's got the same vocal range as Adam Lambert.
@TheMusicLoft He can hit all the notes of "No good deed" and "Defying gravity"
CHILLS
Holy crap. That was good.
DIS white girl tore my whole room up. LAWD HA MERCY!
White people can sing too
this is rediculously good
It's the tone 4 me
Oh wow @ "Who knew Caroyln Franklin wrote" *raises hand slowly* XD. Still, I learned that somewhat recently because I started to get more into Aretha's music. LOL @ "You guys learned something there tonight at the upright cabaret. Hit it Jake!"
7 people clearly don't have ears!!! this was flawless!!!!!
Me, a 13 year old girl with no one-on-one vocal training:

3:33 CHILLS OMG

OMG THAT RISE AT 0:56!
@RinoPCholo She's well known in broadway. Don't need no American Idol recognition anymore!
@Albertojosemusic yeah youre right!

Lean Macfall and you!, wow
@ 3:55 she was having a mariah carey waving hand moment lol
3:55
damn she kilt it.
She blew this one out of the water! 10 times better than Aretha!!!
omg is all I need to say
@saucesacla you are kiddin', right?
shoshana can sing CIRCLES around christina...its not personal taste unless you happen to like christinas shouting.
I love a white girl who sang sang
@flashbackmusiclexie i guess. just, Aint Nothin Like the Real Thing... you know?
@primohomme and this chick shosana doesnt strain in this video? please
She sounds real good, but you do this song no justice with out that high note being hit in the back round. She rocked it....
WO、naisi
@p3fan09 Tell me about it.

This sounds exactly like Impossible by Christina Aguilera

@TheTTriixxxShow ¬¬
she originated as shelly, in hairsrpay.
not a huge role - but she originated it.
i always thought jewish was the people and hebrew was the religion...i don't know...still doesn't take away from the fact that she is awesome.
Sounds like her voice was a little tired but she did sound good! No one can do it like Aretha though!
nothin like listening to sho hit those high notes to make you feel like an epic fail at being a soprano lol
JESUS CHRIST SHOSHANA
@dragontato1

@dragontato1
I understand that. But vocal technique is not subjective. From a technical standpoint, Shoshana is much better vocally.
if you say so,dude.lol
from 3:00-4:00 is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard...in a good way
you serious???? lmbao what drug you smokin?? cause that shit must be good!!
@rekupp Christina doesn't have this range lol. Not even close.
