I think everyone can agree the kings being good again is just the best heartwarming storyline of the season.
They need to improve defensively to start contending next season. This will be a good first step in the playoffs against GS for these guys.
I hope the Kings go 500 years before winning a title, trash franchise with toxic fans and city.
@@KP-wt8qr I hope you live longer than all of your loved ones so you can watch them all die.
not a kings fan, but this year I was shocked how winning culture can instantly change the vibe of city and culture of the team.
Being in Sacramento my entire life. The Kings mean so much to the city. Finally being a winning team has been a much needed adrenaline shot into a city that’s a sleeping giant in California. Both economically and culturally.
The beam has changed not only this team, but the whole city. It’s amazing to see how a winning team impacts a city.
The city has been on point all the time. Even as Kings was losing, they still cheered loud and vied for the team to be in Sacramento. Kings being great and the beam just let the world know how great Kings fans are.
@@andrewashford5617 😂 50 cent is lighting the beam and every other celebrity. Maybe your opinion is
lame af
Such. Creative idea. Cant imagine the pride of the pride of the person who first thought of the idea
it was the owner actually, little indian dude who wanted to run 4 on 5 w a cherry picker when he first got the team lmao.
No other NBA franchise has anything like that to bring the team and the community together. Respect to the Sacramento Kings.
Fans of other teams might find this silly, but for many fans like myself, my first taste of how much fun sports can be was those early 2000s Kings. I thought that was normal, and expected.
Then to be that bad for so long, tomorrow will be the first time I get to watch the Kings play basketball as an adult.
The beam is more than just a gimmick. It’s a glimmer of hope.
No matter what happens tomorrow and this series, this has been one of the most fun seasons I can remember watching Sacramento basketball.
Hopefully, we get to Light the Beam many times over the next several weeks, if not months.
Exactly! I've been a fan since I was born, but I was a kid last time they were actually winning. It hasn't even fully hit me thst tomorrow is happening
Seeing Sac town in the Playoffs just feels so nostalgic. Those boys from the early 2000s teams deserved at least one NBA chip.
Honestly, I think more fans of other teams (of other sports, even) are rather envious of Sacramento (for once) with this beam tradition, rather than finding it as corny. It's a big ol' friggin' laser beam that goes up to outer space! Who the heck _wouldn't_ envy that kind of thing? 👌🏾
I live further out in the suburbs and not in beam view, but some nights when it's somewhat cloudy and the conditions are just right, you can actually see a little bit of the beam from my house. The first time I actually noticed it I got tears in my eyes, which sounds dumb or corny or whatever, but I just think it hits different if you've been a fan for a long time through the struggles, it really is a symbol of hope and a reward for believing, even in the times when you were mad at yourself for it. If you know, you know.
Can totally relate. Probably loss 5 years of my life due to stressing over the Kings in the 4Q. It’s like a symbol that as nonessential as basketball is in the grand scheme of life, it still can lift your spirits and elevate a city.
That’s honestly beautiful I wish I could see it from my house but still I’ve seen it while driving in downtown and it’s so cool tbh
The beam has shown the city of Sacramento the way back to winning. I think it’s awesome that they do this. If they somehow won the championship this year, it wouldn’t bother me one bit, it would be pretty amazing if they did. We’ll see what happens come playoff time (I have more faith in them than my own team) but it’s been a long time coming for playoff basketball in California’s capital
Idk I'm a kings fan but lakers have really turned it around. Also, of course we got the warriors first round. Hopeful and I think its possible, but not super optimistic.
Lakers on the other hand can 100% beat the grizzlies.
@@YoBrand15 I do see the chemistry much improved but there’s almost that “Too little, too late” feeling for me with the Lakers doing anything. I don’t know how they even have the 7th highest odds to win the championship while the Kings are 11th and should be around 9th or 10th. I don’t ever recall a 7 seed having championship odds as high as the Lakers have, especially in the top half of the whole playoff field. Sure, they’re capable of beating Memphis but then there’s the Kings or Warriors in the second round which would be a tall task with either team. Memphis has looked better too since Ja came back and that’s even with Steven Adams being out
@@lakerskid2013 well when you have two of the top 10 players in the league on one team (one who’s been to almost 10 nba finals at this point) it kinda makes sense
I'm from Kansas City and even though the Kings left before I was born, my dad had always been a fan. Hopefully the beam will be lit more than ever!
👑Lets Go Sacramento💜
It should had stayed in Cincinnati as Cincinnati Royals but Oscar Robertson screwed it.
It's really dope to see Sacramento, not only have the "Light The Beam" idea really bringing the team and the city together, but to finally recapture the winning culture that haven't been seen since the 2000s. I'm a Lakers fan and I remember as a kid watching all the battles of the Kings-Lakers and I'm glad to see they got a amazing squad now. Big ups to you Sac-Town! 💯💜
happy for Sac fans. this is awesome
That's dope. So happy for the Kings fans.
It’s amazing to hear and be apart of the “light the beam” chants at home but it’s just as cool to hear it echoing through out opposing teams’ arenas. I’ll never forget when PG and Kawhi got scared because they didn’t know what the fans were chanting 😂🟣🔦
Bro this is special, I've been an nba fan since 2009 and have always heard about the Sac crowd. Goosebumps worthy.
Late 90s and early 2000s when they were allowed to have cowbells in the arena. Those times were crazy.
Moved from Hawaii to Sac...these Kings fans are somethin else! Hope they make it far lol, the fans deserve it
As a raptors fan, this is so good for the culture and proud of where the Kings are at today💪🏽
I grew up in sacramento and I am just stoked about this ---- currently in NYC but my heart will always remain in sac
I want to just appreciate the genius minds who came up with this idea. I'm only a Warriors fan but seeing "Light the Beam" during every win on my timeline... it just seems so badass!😂 Seeing Sacramento's underdog success this season was surprising but their history of not making the playoffs for over a decade made me feel bad whenever I hear it. I was so sad when I saw Mike Brown was going to the Kings last offseason but seeing his impact on the team, it better get him that COTY. I have a lot of respect for the Kings and I'm excited to see how things will unfold during our first-round match.
@@CarbonComs If so, good job. He deserves it more than any other coach in recent years.
it's corny AF --- but coming from a Homeless State fan, this doesn't surprise me at all.
My Father passed away in 2002 months before the Kings were robbed of the Western Finals, whiched we watched as a family. This year is very emotional for me now that we are back in the playoffs. I'm so happy 😊. Light the beam! 💯
Coming from a Knick fan I’m happy to see the kings doing great both franchises has been bad so for both to be thriving especially the kings is amazing to see heck I wish Knicks had some kinda “beam like” thing or lights for the garden genius marketing by the owner
God this just makes me remember watching the oracle arena when dubs just started winning around 13. I'm not saying I dislike the fans today, but u really felt the brotherhood when u watched the crowd celebrate every win we got however small it was. I'm happy for you longtime sac fans ❤
Im a nuggets fan living in Denver, but I can honestly say, Sacramento has the best fans. They are hype the whole game. Reminds me of a college atmosphere
Light the beam! I am not from Sacramento but I love how they play and their fearlessness.
As a Lakers fan I'm also happy for the Kings.... I really hope we have a throwback series soon Lakers vs the Kings must see
When I saw this piece on SportsCenter, I thought, "This is just more proof of how the power of good tradition in sports, even a newer one, can bring life to a community." This is beyond the cowbell for Sacramento. This new tradition actually has other sports fans kinda envious. Whoever would've said that about Sacramento, until quite recently with this Light the Beam tradition and new winning culture they're fostering? 👌🏾
I love the fact that I can look out the window and see the beam! But it’s a totally different feeling when you’re actually outside the stadium.
Whatever team you root for, the positivity of light the beam chants will make you happy
This is so inspiring makes me wanna be a kings fan amazing story really hope you guys win
As a lifelong Lakers fan, I am really glad to see the Kings growing an identity and becoming a solid market in the NBA, such an incredible idea to give to the Kings fans! Hey, no hard feelings.
Great idea. A winning culture matters. Mike Brown deserves all the flowers, as does the owner, GM, and roster for finally putting it all together. It’s a shame they have to run into the Warrior buzzsaw in round one. I just hope they get to light it a few more times this season.
LETS GO KINGS! As a bulls fan I’m rooting for y’all!
as a celtics fan, theres nothing i want more than to see a celtics/kings NBA final.
Never a better time to be a kings fan 💜
@@YOUAPUTA It's called rabid loyalty...you buffoon! And I'm not even a Kings fan.
I remember coming home from San Fran.. on the drive in I-80 directly drives
Into downtown… the kings had just won.. seriously, seeing the beam with Downtown in teh distance is remarkable. U just see the silhouette of the city and this purple light.
Great content! The kings have been great to watch this season!
Ima say this one time but not one time only. LIGHT THE BEAM
This is so lovely and heartwarming
I'm conflicted since I'm a Warriors fan and I also want to see the Kings go as far as they can. If they somehow beat GSW, I'll root them to win the whole thing.
Light the beam for the new era of basketball! Go 👑 i hope you win this year championship they deserve than most other team.
I'm a warriors fan, but seeing this and what it means for this city...if they beat the dubs in the first round, I'd be cheering for them all the way!
1st playoff win= light the beam! 🎉
It's something that brings the team and the city together. Letting the whole city know that your Kings have won
I'm legitimately happy for Kings fans. been a long time coming. it sucks that the warriors have to play y'all round one... may the best team win!
that was an amazing win tonight. i believe in sac!
Not a kings fan but Ggs to them and saw this vid and thought this is a pretty cool thing that they do and more teams should do something like this it’s different and very creative!!!
Lakers fan here, It's badass to be honest. Go Kings!
LIGHT THE BEAM instantly has become iconic in such a short time. I'm sure it will be referenced a lot in the future and everyone will know it will be referring to the Sacramento Kings!!!
Rooting for the kings. Go shock the world. -pistons fan
This is a testament of Coach Mike Brown…4 x Champion, former GS assistant coach…head coach of the Cavs, stints with the spurs and lakers. He’s a winner. I’m pulling for golden state but won’t be mad if the Kings shock the world…
Bulls fan here! This is pretty cool!!! 🔥🔥 S/O to the Kings and bringing a new winning culture to Sac Town! 🔮
Sacto back to the early 2000’s when they had guys like Bibby,Stojakovic,Divac,Christie etc, when them and Lakers use to ran into each other for the Western Conference finals!! Those were fun times..Good to see they are back playing good basketball again
I mean it just feels right. I’m from the bay but lived in sac as well, and it just feels right that our state capital city b-ball team is doing well and getting the recognition they earned…also it’s a good rivalry for NorCal just like SoCal with clippers and lakers but then also may revive that 90’s rivalry with lakers and kings as well :) just good things all around
They not only have turned the team around into a winning ball club, they've more imprtantly developed a strong culture behind it..
Theyre looking very much like the young Warriors before they dominated the league.
I'm so excited
good for them. they have a beam that's makes them happy =)
Thats awesome! I'm a spurs fan BUT this is excellent GO KINGS GO
I wanna see that beam in the finals
LETS GO!!
Curry sent me here. 😂
It makes me happy to see the Kings good again
everyone gangster in sacramento til an alien ship arrival lookin for that beam
As a Kings fan I wish the rest of the nation got to witness the story of the Kings this year. There is just so much that’s special about this season, so many storylines. The national media hasn’t shared much of this story so here are some of the highlights:
Going from 30 wins to 3rd place.
Being the best offense in nba history.
Having the most clutch player (Fox) in the NBA by far, who will win the new Clutch Player of the Year easily.
Having the coach of the year in a runaway, who has changed the entire culture, brought competitiveness and positivity to this organization.
Having who is going to be executive of the year, Monte McNair, who brought in Brown, Sabonis, Huerter, Keegan, Monk, Davion, Kessler and others.
Having a rookie (Keegan) that broke the record for threes by a rookie.
Having broke the longest playoff drought by a major team in all of North America, also the longest drought in NBA history.
Having possibly the loudest fans in the NBA (actually broke a world record for this), who finally get rewarded for their loyalty.
And having this ingenious beam that looks amazing in person, and hearing “light the beam” chants in opposing arenas from Kings fans around all over the country (and Canada).
I recall the days when I got to watch C-Web, J-Will and the rest of the gang go on their great runs, and even delivering pizza to C-Web and J-Will who loved right across the steeet from each other. C-Web opened the doors high as a kite with that great smile of his and gave me a great tip. It’s great to be back in the playoffs. I’m so grateful to be a Kings fan, and so happy for this city.
Spurs fan here, but much respect to your team and all the accomplishments what a truly remarkable season the Kings have had.
@@OweNoManAnything Appreciate that! Good to see fellow sports fans that are happy for other fans. It's odd that some people online try to bring others down just because they root for a different team. A sad way to go through life.
@@philmccracken179 30 wins to 48, won the Pacific Division, nbd lmao. It's interesting to see people online try to bring others down and hate on their joy. Interesting way to go about life!
Such a great idea! Miami Heat fan but I wanna see the Kings do well this playoffs. 💯
This is incredible phenomenal live ❤❤❤ it for the city of Sacramento Now that the city can see this historic moment of The Beam is phenomenal dope to see big huge fan of Basketball 🏀⛹️♂️ not a Sacramento Kings fan but love ❤❤❤❤❤❤ to see it and hear it
This is like their 'We the North' chant.
Excited to see the Kings back into Playoff prominence..
Its not as bad as Chuck predicting they will go all the way to conf finals..😅
Looking forward to their continued post season success..
Man I cried because I moved from Sacramento took a job in a city where there is no basketball and when I wore my kings stuff I got made fun of it’s just cringy scary how fast the kings gotten just spending 79.000.000 million off-season and adding key 🔑 coaches changes a team. nothing short of amazing
This is interesting. I grew up in a city with a very successful sports culture except basketball. I live in Sactown now been a fan for 6 years. It's nice to see this success. 😎🥲
Light the beam! Let's go Kings!
That beam & culture gonna have free agents wanting to go to sacramento. Good team & Good weather ✅
Let’s go Kings!! 🏆👑🟣🔦
Ι always had a soft spot for the 4th California team, a spot that grew when they were the first to really trust European stars. But this year when they got Sacha Vezenkof I keep looking for their highlights and scores. That's how I got to see Vezzy lighting The Beam! instant goosebumps and when I got here to see to story behind some fog on my eyes too! what an amazing way to create a Beacon for an entire city lighting the Pride in each resident. Go K....Light The Beam Sacramento!
It's like the Bat Signal.
But instead of stricking fear, it beings people together!
Well, actually it does strike fear into opponents😂
🤟Nice 💯
Light the beam
Shot out to Cali from Uptown New Orleans Louisiana ⚜️
Every team should be doing this with their own team colors, what a crazy idea, its so cool.
Nah this is unique. Making everyone else do it would make it not as special. Every team needs to find their own way. Whether it be lighting up a building or something. Just don’t copy the beam

That's really cool😎
We going to them finals. If we get pass the warriors I don't see no one beating us
Everybody know that the Warriors are better team that’s why he said if even he knows the Warriors are the better team
That's genius. An instant marker the entire city can rally around. Imagine driving in traffic and your 5 year old asks, "Dad, what's that light?" And you let them know the team just won. That's very memorable and symbolic.
