You can left click the poly icon that shows when you use g select to remove them from your control, but make sure you do it before you move the units. That should stop them from moving.
Ha! So it does. There is actual user interface interaction on those command mode dialog unit icons. Would have been nice if there were any visual indication or documentation that this was a thing.
The /rally command is something I added to the server to make up for losing the command center rally that we used to have in v6. It's kind of obsolete now that we have the command mode G select all. There is also /attack, which will give an order to each unit to attack the enemy core it is closest to. That is the substitute for the command center attack state. There is a /fullassault command that is the same as running /attack every few seconds. Now that I think about it... maybe I should create a /stop command too. Command center could also do that.
Yeah, full assault is continuous. The way I implemented it was by having the server give orders to the units. An /attack gives one order to each unit that will move it to the nearest enemy core (with some edge cases that don't work because the core game implementation of unit pathing is very lazy). Once the unit gets there it stops and it's done. The full assault does /attack every few seconds, so newly built units will get orders even after giving the command, and when an enemy core is destroyed, instead of standing around the units will get new orders to move to the next.
