Modernism and the materialism it entails lead to nihilism / a loss of meaning while post-modernism leads to a sort of cynical will to subvert and undermine society. They don't lead to Beauty like this. In the Western world, the last time our societies still led to beauty and cohesion was in the Christian middle ages, which are oftentimes smeared as "dark" by 'enlightenment' figures to make it appear backwards. Those times were anything but backwards, they still had a spiritual and mythical core which I consider much more valuable than any kind of 'progress' and technological advancements new agers sell their souls for. People seriously still believe technological progress will save them while completely disregarding the thing that that is much more important and that we lost - our religious, spiritual underpinning. Without it, you have superficial ideologies that take their place, or nihilism.
To get back to this music, this to me is a manifestation of the beauty & mystery of Orthodox Christianity that was luckily maintained to this day. My God.. This is like heaven on earth. I could honestly weep of joy at the beauty of this. I deerly long for the day our societies recover what they have lost which is still manifest in Orthodox Christianity and apparent in this kind of music :).
Then you are forgotten the horrible things that happened in the christian middle ages in the name of religion. These music is beautyful, but it's just music . There is nothing sacred in it. There is also nothing sacred in a religion.

This music is incredibly blessed ...I am on my knees in my heart..I love You, Lord! I pray the ortodox be cleaved to the Lord Jesus not to icons, or tradition. Please also pray they would be led to read the Bible, because they know norhing, most of them, nothing about the Bible! It is not used in this church (I was orthodox until I was 27). SOmetimes I feel like I am in Ninive, they do not know the left from the right. I am blessed to be born ortodox, but the Awesome Son of God saved me when I was 27. I have searched for Him in orthodox church and could not find the freedom from the old life and flesh, my sould longed after Him and didn't know how He is? In 1995 I read that Martin Luther used to go to the window at night, watch the stars and pray: "Lord, is this my church, or Your church? Is this my world, or Your world? As the church and the world are Yours, I am living them into Your hands, I will go to bed because I need sleep". What? You can talk to God like that? How can I do this? There were no many people to teach me, in my orthodox region. But God used people from far, and He did saved me. I want all to come tho Him really. There are treasures in all churches: orthodox has humblness and reverence, catholics have the charity and many good, very good teachers, pentecostals have the persistence in prayer and the presence of God and Lord Jesus through the Holy Spirit, the baptists have the passion for the Word and sound doctrine and so on...The Lord bless you all! Please do not assume all Orthodox have not read the Bible. There are millions who do study and pray. The Bible is there for anyone to read. Presently, I use the actual Orthodox Study Bible. Once you start in the Old testament, especially Genesis and Kings- the Orthodox commentary really helps you to understand the Liturgy service even fuller.
It's incumbent on all of us to take personal responsibility of our spiritual growth.
It needs to fed and watered through repentence and prayer.
There is only one God, the father, the son and Holy Spirit.
Together are worshiped and glorified.

I am Orthodox, and aware of Orthodox Spirituality, especially in some parts of Greece. But I frown on advertising Orthodoxy like a commercial product. If The Holy Spirit truly inheres, allow the Divine Initiative to choose those whom it wishes to come and partake. Don’t seek large followings for its own sake, three of the faithful joined together by the Spirit of God have the Power of God. As the Psalmist commands, “Be still and see the power of God.” Your own strength and efforts alone will never be enough, be still.

As a Catholic living in Ireland, we are all praying for the end to War in Ukraine and for the people of Ukraine and Russia to live in Peace and Freedom and for all refugees and displaced people.
I join with all my Orthodox brothers and Sisters and with Pope Francis whose prayer is to: "Forgive us all for war O Lord". We are blessed by God to have a Greek Orthodox family from Ukraine living with us at the moment until the war is over, "Lord Jesus Christ have Mercy on me a sinner" thank you for your lovely music. 🙏
and what good will prayer to your godling do?? There have been prayers to him since this all started... and ...nothing/crickets/zilch has been done to stop this war... what is the use of praying?? Firstly, if free will is truly a thing he will not influence...then your prayers are worthless since he will not intervene. Secondly, if his perfect plan is for this war to play out, yur prayers will not change the outcome... thus, prayer is useless, except as a form of coping/meditation for the one praying... so a completely selfish act.
