Thanks for all the details! I was struggling with getting the dongle connected to my wifi and you opened that up for me. I really appreciate it. I did not want to spend days fretting thru this. I tried using EG$ or Signature Solar's TH-cam video on this - using a PC. I never could connect as instructed there, using browser and IP address 10.10.10.1. Much easier using the app on the phone. One thing I did notice is it took some time for the EG4 system to update so I could login on my phone - after I registered. Working smooth now. Big Thanks!
Thanks for the how to video.. I used your video and followed your steps to setup my 6000 XP today. Much appreciated! Keep the videos rolling my friend!
Thank you, I just emailed them to let them know they can post the video on their site if they want. Their support people said this is one of the main support issues that comes up.
FWIW, the mountain time zone in standard time is GMT-7; when DST is active in the US the time delta drops to 6 because of DST. Since there’s a configuration switch for whether to implement DST I would imagine the appropriate setting for Utah would be GMT-7 and then activate the DST setting to get the net 6 hour delta during summer.
Just got mine powered last night thanks for making this need to get the wifi connected. I have had a few days with it the settings are little overwhelming I built a DIY 16S 280ah battery pack with a JK BMS even makes more challenging since there is no battery coms. I think in the future when I get everything working correctly and understand how to do this better going to make a TH-cam video on how to configure this with a DIY battery. The information is out there it's scattered not the same inverter, or BMS.
I started installing my eg4 6000xp today. The manual seems to be difficult to follow as it certainly doesn't go in order. Has the instructions, mostly in the wrong order but, thankfully, I'm one of those guys that flicks through manuals a lot. Found out that once I got it installed to specs, I had to dance around all over the place to get the info that I needed in the order that I was doing things. One thing I cam accross, the wifi dongle can be fussy. I have three wifis at my home. It didn't like my IOT wifi, which is where I like to put devices that use the internet, that I'm totally trusting of. I ended up having to put it on my wifi where I have my phone and computers. Hoping that a firmware upgrade will help with that part. So if you have trouble with wifi setup, try another router with an open wifi to test it out, before you give up.
This is one thing I don't like about the EG4 6000 XP. I don't want a system where people across the globe can interfere with it. Having an off grip solar system is a way to gain my freedom. I don't want to be tied to the internet.
I believe they do have an option where you can monitor things without having the Internet connected. They could give you some more information about that if you call them. You are not the only one with this concern
I'm installing 6000XP now. I'm in a rural area, 2 miles from the road, so no conventional Internet to a home router. I do have cell to the ATT network. Question: if phone enabled as a HotSpot, will I be able to connect to configure and run firmware updates? Thank you.
Mine failed to connect but the app would automatically log me in so I couldn't reconfigure the dongle. I had to open network settings on my phone and connect to the dongle. Then the app gave me the log in screen with the connect dongle option. Some how that didn't work so I tried connecting with Bluetooth. I then entered my wifi SSID and password. Success! I had also split my router 2.4 and 5 G signal and connect to the 2.4 network. Also if you enter you password incorrectly it will still try to connect with no error message.
The fact that I got sent here by a signature solar tech support means your doing good work😎
Nice. Thanks! I think this is one of their top support issues... from my understand.
I used your code at Signature Solar when buying a 6000xp and the wall mount battery. Thanks!

Probably no one else has done that. Thanks for sharing this video.
Thanks

Thanks! The instructions were a bit confusing.
Thanks so much. I was totally frustrated with eg4 video, and unsuccessful. Now it is working. This should be their "official" video.

Thank you, I was struggling to get the 2nd dongle connected and this video resolved it for me.
Very helpful video. It saves me some time in reading the manual to figure things out!!
Thanks, yeah the manual was pretty tricky for me as well

Yeah. Time zones are crazy confusing!

Cool. I think people would appreciate that. I used an app called "YouCut" It's really easy to edit your videos.
Very VERY helpful. Thank you!!
Thanks!

It should. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Stupid customer code… resolved.
Thanks
Does the dongle come with the 6000xp?
If I want to connect my unit to WiFi do I need to purchase the dongle separately?
It comes included with the 6000 XP. 👍
Great, but where do I find the dongle? is there a part number or something?
It comes with the 6000 XP or 18K when you purchase those. Sorry I should have mentioned that.
oh no kidding! I looked all over for that in the description at Signature solar, I concluded it was optional accessory. Subscribed and used your code!

Thanks. Both those systems are amazing
no light on label INV need help please
Hearing "green witch" tells me you probably haven't been to Greenwich (locals would say something closer to "gren ich") ... ;-)
Oh interesting. Maybe some day I'll get there

I cannot get the dongle to connect to my router, tried your way, tried SS directions!! Ridiculous.
