We left Cork in 1969 when I was just a nipper and although we went back often its sweet to see it as it was as I remember it then!!

My god, that flashing advertising screen across from Patrick's Bridge that used to amuse me so much as a kid in the early 90s was there back then too? Amazing!!🤩

Yea always remember that coming back from Middleton coming up the Quay. Seemed to be the same ad for 30 years.

Great footage. Weird to see Cork in the 60's. Seems like a different world.

Anyone remember the tea-room upstairs at the Savoy in the 1960's? Mum used to take me there sometimes, and after to a film in the cinema next door. 😀

I remember Cash's had a mahogany staircase with a lift in the middle of it and sold mink fur coat on the second floor ...in 1975 the coat cost 1800 pounds ..a house at that time might have cost 7000 pounds ...

@@therocknrollgamer9572 tbh the streets are generally the same and Grannabraher still the same as in the video. the cars are what really give away that its 55 years ago!

I remember those buses in the 70s, the conductor would stand at the back to prevent people hopping on when the bus was moving.

i wouldnt know..the conversion would have been done by my uncle in the 1980's i think it was procedure to add music to films with no sountrack you could ask cork film services on washington street cork as the would have followed the same procedure in the 1980's when doing conviersion. they still provide the service today
