This is what Mohammed does . It's a pattern with him. He bought Maryam a dress he did the same with Afsana & he gave Afsana flowers & a ring twice & recently he went to Afsana and gave the ring a third time. First time was he wanted to marry her & his parents was against it . Second time he said it a friendship ring , third time he says it in case she needs money she can sell it. Afsana shouldn't have taken it. .
Mujtabah is a good man he respect Maryyam that's why he don't come in to the room .

Maryam is a worker . She made her own money by cooking & selling what she makes. She's made crafts & sold them. She's one of the few women who actually works. But now she is in hiding because the husband is violent & the husband sister came to steal Dina So Maryam is back in hiding again, only now from her sister in law & her husband.
