As a frequent Trekker to the Himalaya and EBC via every route, your production was one of the best that I’ve seen. I have no aspirations to actually summit Everest, but I found your journey to be absolutely inspiring. It really is about the journey.🙏 Namaste. 🙏
The guy saying "I take every step with ease and efficiency" - behind his back the 2 porters with the 30kg bags slowing down to his pace while their spines are like Г , yet he is a star :D
Right? How is this even a documentary? The guy took one shot at the very 1st challenge that Everest tossed at him and he couldn’t even do it. That phone call with his daughter said it all, he was already defeated and ready to go home. When those sherpas died you know this guy was like "thank god, I can quit without looking like it was me who quit". I’m sure he was remorseful for those who lost their lives but in his own words "it was a relief that it was canceled".
Bravo at the effort put forth. However inside, our bodies do change in quiet way, that sneaks up and bites you in the bum. My recovery time now is slow. What I could bounce back from in a day or even overnight , takes two days. On Everest, your bounce back times needs at times to be four hours on the final push. Also, when I run out of gas I hit the wall and stop!! No pushing through another four hours. I can’t even imagine this at high altitudes. Sending traveling mercies. We all need the.🤘
After watching him on the ladders at home I'm surprised he made to base camp. He would of been another casualty of the mountain and possibly taking out his guide and a few sherpas. He's lucky they closed the mountain.
200 mil dólares para arriesgar mi bella y querida vida y estar de egoísta en no pensar en mis hijos mis padres, hermanos y familiares y amigos ? No y No
Well people go out fishing for the day or hunting in the mountains and not think of their spouse, children, siblings, cousins etc. Nobody ever says that about them. And the fisherman can drown and the hunter can get shot. It's all the same.
The avalanche had little to do with this guy not making it. He was already spent at 19,000 feet. When I saw him training at basically sea level, I figured it wouldn't end well. He was wise to turn back. Like Dirty Harry said, 'a man's got to know his limitations.' He had a backer with money. He should have gone to elevation to train and maybe made a go at Denali first.
Seems he had no idea what is involved in climbing Everest. This is the type of guy that takes out 2 or 3 people with him as he falls 5000 ft off the mountain.
No one knows if their body will be able to acclimatize by producing more red blood cells. There are quite a few number of porters/sherpas having to be helicoptered from Everest to the hospital for the same reason, but more life threatening.

I bet you guys arent even climbers.
The families of those Sherpas …. just heartbreaking.
Mountains are my favorit topic; they hipnotize and attract me , pull towards.

🎬❤️
thank you for sharing . Mountians of respect to all the sherpa familys
I'm curious to know how much climbing he did before he attempted Everest. Had he climbed in other 8000 meters.
I find climbing out of bed to go to work taxing enough these days.
Wondered the same thing. Alan Arnette has an article on his blog.
Chomolunga has been sending messages over the years. Crowding on the mountain hit critical mass. Cherish life over the dollars.
Nepal - Sagarmatha
China - Chomalomga

Why repeat the release of this video? It has been released in 2023,right?
In which year did you people tried for the summit ... very interesting n kudos 👏
2020
2014, the movie was made in 2020.
18:48 I dunno but seeing the arms up like that always makes me uneasy..
Man could anyone else see how jealous that woman at the beginning at the party was that it wasn’t all about her

I imagine he felt a huge sense of relief when the decision to go on was made for him.

The inability to produce more red blood cells necessary for acclimatization, would still be necessary on Denali.
Human hubris. Never climbed a mountain, ever. Paid money to be guided to the summit of Everest.
Apparently you din't watch the video, he had climbed the highest peak in Antarctica. Not saying he was super experienced, but not a novice.
Yeah but you have to pass the icefall like six to eight times for a summit
Good luck
Stick with marrying young women for ego... much safer.
Not so sure about that.
