Man that jam took me back! A metal band I was in 30 years ago had a song we never finished. I was always pushing for it bc… well it was one of mine, but it also used those melodic chords you were playing in that last bit. If I had your skills, maybe it would have been finished. We just never pinned it down. I love that guitar. I had never heard of them. That was awesome he sent you that.
Huge props to NMS for sending you that beast. Love the look...always have on that explorer shape. The white with black hardware looks clean, and the reverse headstock is a great touch. Pickups sounded pretty solid, and of course...hardtail 4 life. Surprised about the scale length and really surprised about the weight. Thanks for the review, Bald Dude.
Dang, u must have gotten the best specimen of S of all time! I've read about so many problems with their QC that I had given up on the brand! But u partly restored my faith. I still fear about issues thou... 🙉
Dude, that guitar sounds seriously awesome! I listened carefully for any intonation inconsistencies or muddy sounds at high gain and I just didn't hear it. What a sweet sounding guitar!
That was a really great straight forward review, very much appreciate that!! Great rippin to! New to subscribe 👍✌️ (and thanks for sayin that about Chinese stuff some is pretty damn good)
As a massive Metallica fan, I love this guitar! Been a huge fan of Solar for a while. Great to see more affordable options available. Ola and Richard should collaborate. Now that would be killer.
Solor is still a brand that I have not reviewed yet. I definitely need to check them out soon. Awesome sound coming from that one my friend. Thanks for sharing, and a big thanks to NMS for allowing you to do that. Ola would be proud of the chugggg. lol😁😁
That is gorgeous. I had been looking at S by Solar for a while, but hadn't seen too many reviews. Looking forward to the live stream tonight. And per usual you make every guitar sound great (even that guitar shaped object that Metal Dude upgraded)!
Great Review & Chug-a-lug-lugging Shredder! Brought a smile and a little respite to an otherwise rainy, gloomy Monday in NW Georgia. Really enjoyed your playing too. I think you actually were James Hetfield at the beginning!
I'm surprised it took you this long to check one of these out. Ola is a good dude. He doesn't do garbage, not even the "cheap" stuff. 4:10, that riff made me think of M.O.D. Excuse me, I gotta go listen to U.S.A for M.O.D.!
Great Review!!! I have actually wanted that exact guitar but sadly as I live in Canada S by Solar does not ship here :( I have to go check you your live stream lol
I contacted Solar a few years back about ordering one of their guitars because I wanted to try an Evertune bridge. Very few companies have great customer service but they were shockingly rude and dismissive. Between that and the QC issues they were having at the time (cracking fretboards and such) I decided not to purchase. I hope they've gotten better.
So, with how much you liked this one, thinking of getting a dinky style S (or full fat Solar) for yourself? Personally, I've always thought the Solar E type looks... off. I don't know if it's the horn angle being too wide or the fin angle being too shallow... I dunno. It's a weird one. Oh, and I think they totally dropped the ball with their X type too, which got me really salty because I was looking forward to that release for ages XD
I don't like the placement of the strap holder near the neck. It suggests that the neck would drop when you play it standing up. First thing I always look at in a guitar. I had an explorer years ago that had the strap holder at the back. One of the neck bolts actually held it on. I play with a high headstock playing position and I never had an issue with neck dive. I had a nylon strap on that guitar too, which is more slippery than a leather one. One more thing. Ninety two is a whole number. 5.92 is five point nine two.
I once bought a Solar with an Evertune for around 1k and got a faulty once. I sent it back and got a replacement - also faulty. So I gave up on that brand. I guess a "budget line" is now the more realistic - not overpriced value of these guitars as their QC is basically non-existent. Whether you get a decent instrument or not, purely comes down to luck.
Dude my dimebuckers are only 16k but I do have a 20k monster on my headless guitar explorer think sound distorted on the clean channel it's AliExpress pickup
Sooooooo...... who is playing the guitar? It obviously isn't you. You don't have sideburns, which showed for a moment. Why sideline a guitarist. Never show the face.
It's the same scale as a Fender Mustang! By the way they made the "S" brand for south america where they couldn't afford Solar guitars because of the importation fees...(If I remember what Ola said about it😊)
just like max bald shredder kills it
Thanks!
Cool, I've had my Solar for about 4 years, love it, I have a Leo Jaymz as my second guitar is the Monsoon.
Wow, nice,. talk about high output! Clean sound is great!
In the hands of "THE BALD SHREDDER" it all chugs!!!
Yep!!!
And wails, and does a lot of other cool stuff!
Have definitely been wanting anything solar related there teles are so cool looking!
Great review. NMS and TBS, thanks for making it all happen!
What a wonderful looking and sounding guitar. Dose not look like a budget guitar either. This is 4 thumbs up for me. 👍👍👍👍
@4:24 The clean sounded amazing! 😲
I agree!
Ola Rocks ! I had wondered about those S guitars. Great video !
Great review. You covered all the aspects of the guitar and those high output pickups are impressive.
Great review. I have the AB4.6C and I love it. It chugs, for sure. I am glad to see you reviewed this. Keep on shredding!
NMS you kick arse !!and Richard you rock also
Thank you sir! All for the shredder community.

dang, I didn't think he made Solars that cheap. damn those pickups are hot! Great review as always!
They really do pack a punch!
Sounds real good and looks sweet!
I said a 1000 times! Ceramic pick ups are the best for Rock and Metal music!!!!!!
That guitar sounds sick man! Those leads were fire!
Thanks man

It really does sound great! And it plays perfectly.
👍🏻😎 More chugs than a frat house keg party.
😂😂😂
the owner Ola Englund is a founder of the band Feared, and guitarist in The Haunted..So a metal guitarist making metal guitars for people!!
He did a great job designing these.
NMS You are a class act.
Gracias. All for the shredder community.
@@newmexicosaint If you're still in the giving mood, I could use a house down in South Carolina. 🙂
Ha ha. And I need a new car!

That would be killer
I would love to do some kind of collab with Ola. Maybe he'll see this video.
That would be killer
Yup, I’ll do it 😂 I’m an artist, airbrush etc etc
It chugs, it shreds, and it sounds great. I would like to see something done with paint because it looks like a blank canvas, to me at least.
Solor is still a brand that I have not reviewed yet. I definitely need to check them out soon. Awesome sound coming from that one my friend. Thanks for sharing, and a big thanks to NMS for allowing you to do that. Ola would be proud of the chugggg. lol😁😁
It's Solar amigo
Agreed! NMS Rocks! 😁
Thanks Mike. 🤜🤛 🤘🤘

The black AB (dinky) is on sale for $199 till Dec. 15. Thanks!

Glad to bring a little sunshine to your day.
$199 till Dec 15? Nice 💪
Now THAT'S a deal!
Sick!🤘🏼🔥
24 inch scale length? That's nuts. I bet you could bend the strings by looking at them. 🤣
😂😂
I winked at it and the strings bent.
Great cleans though
How bout let's hear that chug all I heards 80s shredding lol🤣
LOL, that was as close as I can get to a chug!
@ lol wish Ola would have sent it I’d give him a hard time about not sending a chug pedal you can mute string and chug like crazy with that thing
Personally I love White Guitars 🎸 🤩... I have to always try not to buy white guitars so there's variety... Nice Shred... Cheers 🍻 🥃🥃 🎸 🎵🎶🎶
I want the V.
Man I want one of those so bad rn
Nice sounding AXE. Im more into the strat style but thats just my opinion. Keep Rockin RJ
I prefer the dinky shaped model.

My solar is a great guitar, I don't have an S by solar
Ola! Cool explorer style! Thanks Shredder 🤘 did I mention hair? 🤔😊
Hair? I don't see any hair!
Great Review!!! I have actually wanted that exact guitar but sadly as I live in Canada S by Solar does not ship here :( I have to go check you your live stream lol
The VB model looks killer.
Good review. I don't understand the 24" scale length, though. Why?!
So is short fingered folks can reach those 5 and 6 fret spreads! 😂
After using 27 & 28" scale baritone and 7 string guitars. Playing gibsons or other short scaled axes feel like toys...
I bet!
Say it like Ola, SO-LAAAR. Lol!
I contacted Solar a few years back about ordering one of their guitars because I wanted to try an Evertune bridge. Well this one is my only experience with them and it's good.

Who better for this review?
Where can I get one
Link to the website is in the description. Or just Google it.
I actually kinda like the budget version more because it doesn’t have the OLA logo on the fretboard.
Dude sent you his free guitar from the Black Sabbath sale.
When lowering the bridge by turning the screws, did you have to loosen the strings first?
I never have when lowering the bridge but typically do when having to raise it
Yeah, what NMS said.
I never hated ceramic pickups.
Chugs not rugs. Stay bald, shreddy.
What if I'm trying to tie the room together?
Floor rugs, yes. Head rugs, no.
Dude my dimebuckers are only 16k but I do have a 20k monster on my headless guitar explorer think sound distorted on the clean channel it's AliExpress pickup
Yes, it chugs, shred but, does it Julianne fries??
So it's Jaguar/Mustang scale?
Ola
What???
24" scale length?
Just curious... What gauge strings are on that baby?
Feels like 9
I'm a dud!
thats the only guitar in the world that looks good with a reversed headstock
I like reverse headstocks on just about everything.

Nope.......your the shredder Elmer Fudd
Shhh... I'm hunting wabbit

Ola's company makes some badass guitars , unfortunately they're out of my price range right now....
I hear ya. If you check for the B stock of these S guitars, sometimes they are a bit cheaper.
@@thebaldshredder Yeah I checked out the site after your video and found some that are pretty reasonable , I actually saw a couple for $199.00....👍✌️
Just saw that you can a new black AB (dinky) for 199 until Dec. 15.
@thebaldshredder Yeah I was looking at that one , looks like exactly what I want! Thanks brother 🤘
why doesn’t he manufacture these in Slovakia? imho solar feels like it’s being run by an account who’s into metal
