What are the emergency protocols taken?
Hi Grace, are referring to (1) what are the emergency routes & protocols in case when a fire breaks out? Or (2) what are the steps we need to take when an emergency happens?
If it's (1), there is none. Camping sites is a relatively new Malaysian hobby, and the government has not yet detailed any SOPs for operators. Since the case in December 2022, different parties have taken steps to look into this matter but nothing concrete has been documented for Peninsular yet. And I reckon it will take a few years after that for Sabah.
If it's (2), the best steps are 'Personal Preparedness' and 'Family Preparedness'. I would strongly recommend attending a training called [IDRN 1100] as it provides all info6and skills needed to ensure that you and your family are prepared when facing any disaster-related emergencies. IDRN is International Disaster Response Network, and IDRN 1100 has been organised multiple times by different NGO groups these last few years.
