You managed to get that weird 'South African' accent that the original Krotons had. That's simply awesome. I have a lot of affection for the Krotons - it was the first Doctor Who story I saw in it's entirety, in 1968, when I was five. I had seen the Tenth Planet Cybermen when I was three, but they scared me so badly, my parents stopped watching the show. Also, though I never knew it then, 'The Krotons' was the first Doctor Who story written by the brilliant Robert Holmes.
I love The Krotons as well! As an alien race I think they are fascinating, and they look and sound marvellous in their episodes. I know they are not universally loved in fandom but I adore them!
Thank you very much, indeed! I am glad that you enjoyed it! I love the Krotons, so I just had to get them into an animation! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
wonderful - loved it 💖 i don't really know much about the Krotons but it's a really cool design - kind of similar to the Giant Robot in that Tom Baker episode. Dr Who has been going so long that there's always new stories to tell & enemies to meet👾
Thank you very much for your comment. 'The Krotons' as a story doesn't have the best reputation (and I can understand why) but I do enjoy revisiting it. The Krotons themselves are rather marvellous, and I love their design and voices, plus the concept behind them - beings that thrive on draining the mental energy of others - is really rather cool!
Fantastic voices! Pleasantly surprised this wasn't CGI though I feel like this should have been shot on super -8: but I guess that just shows how old I am ! Hope you enjoyed making it as much as I enjoyed watching it! :-)
Thank you very much indeed! This is an entirely original script with the voices done by me. I use a combination of software, namely Audacity and Reaper to achieve the modulation I desire.
Wow, you used the perfect Software modulation for the dalek voices. Truly stunning video and perfect voice control of the daleks. Thumbs up from me 👍 My friends tell me I do an amazing dalek voice without any modulating enhancements to my voice. Although I guess I could use a modulator to improve my voice more. 😀
Ha ha! A lot of criticism has been levelled at the voices of the Krotons over the years. I personally love them! And yes, they sound like a cross between Brummie and South African.
It was intended to sound like an Afrikaans accent. Rumour has it that Roy Skelton chose this deliberately in order to parody, and protest against, Apartheid. But it wasn’t the most convincing accent.
That is very true! As you say, he may not quite have pulled off what he intended, but I love how he and Patrick Tull create these very distinctive voices for an excellent monster.
If Daleks are pepper pots, Krotons are definitely salt shakers! 😅

I've never heard Dalek fan voices this good before.
Bless you! That's very kind!
Incredible! The best Dalek voices i have heard outside the official show!
Thank you very much! I do enjoy voicing the Daleks, so that makes me very happy to read your comment!
Yooo this is incredible!

Daleks vs Krotons. Wow. That would have been very impressive back in Patrick Troughtons day. Brilliant on what you have created here :-)
Thank you very much indeed! It was a pairing that I just couldn't resist. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
So glad to see you back, hope you're doing well and looking forward to more terrific videos like this
Thank you! That is very kind!

From Joberg to another galaxy via Birmingham !
Dang your Dalek voices are amazing
Thank you very much indeed! Very kind!
Dalek intelligence will conquer all!
Thank you!
the voices are great!
Many thanks! I'm glad they have come across well!
Fantastic voices!

Brummie accents again for the Krotons lol 😆
Glad to see I'm not the only one who loves the krotons!
The story is very patchy but the Krotons themselves...yes, I love them!
@@mestormagnificent1550 Agreed, perfect by no means. But like most of classic doctor who, there's still fun to be had!
Always! There are very few Classic Who serials in which I can find nothing to enjoy!
Brilliant
That was awesome. Good work.👍🏻
Thank you very much indeed!
LOVED this! How did you make those Krotons? They looked SO accurate! I want one!!!!!!!
They are spiffing aren't they? Made for me by a much more talented fan via 3D printer.
This is so good
Thank you very much! I'm glad that you enjoyed it :)
Those daleks need a new fashion designer, see those shell suits whaaay to go.
I like the Kroton voices - better than the original!
A great story. My only complaint is that the story is too long 😉🤣. Please do a full 90 minutes, my friend, I know I would be glued..
I thought the Dalek voices were from big finish but you have an excellent Dalek voice! Did you use a mooger fooger 102?

Great more
Where'd you get those krotons?
They were 3D printed and painted by one of the Doctor Who Community on Twitter.
@@mestormagnificent1550 Very nice!
PJ The Barbarian Vs The Krotons
Easy win for the Krotons :)
Oh yeah Because PJ The Barbarian is a Strong Fighting Robot Child
Krotons not frightened of no Strong Fighting Robot Child :)
We’re the Krotons originally brummies? 😂😂
