This is a cool concept, not bad. I wish that they updated the Mini and Scrappy with a better looking/functional compass, fuel gauge and altimeter.

Youve gotta have ur graphics turned up but they do work, The Fuel on the mini works, And the Guages on the scrappy works too
Between this and MLRS, the competition for cave bases just went up 1000%
cave bases are heavily targeted tho, every cave base i see gets raided at some point, and you cant do much to defend
@@meyr1992not having a way to generate electricity other than generators really limits cave base defense. If generators were more fuel efficient that would help.

@@chunkycornbread4773 I have a small team and I always build one base in the cave and another one in the surface, it almost never get raided and most of caves you can connect a wire from the top
@@chunkycornbread4773 I use a trick where I charge my batteries above the cave and if you pick a battery up it keeps it charge
This will be hell for solos imagine a Zerg pulling up in an entire air attack force with transport helicopters and attack helicopters

Have a fucking cry. Every update "this will push solos out of the game" "this only favors zergs what about the solo players" shut the fuck up. No one is leaving the game, not every server has a zerg and every update since the game has fucking released has favored a group over a solo. ITS WHY PEOPLE PLAY IN GROUPS, BECAUSE ITS EASIER

I think since the're working on this, they should add a small storage compartment to minis like there is on boats, and then a small box on scrap helis. They should also add radios to scrap helis, and cars.
Good ideas, but atleast on minis it should be a mod like cars to swap the seat, that way it is really helpful for solo's, as groups can always bring two people anyways. Scrap heli's not sure, it would be interesting for scrap heli's having a full cargo mod that replaces the back area, as it is important that there are trade offs.

Or add attachments like flares or extra armor to scrap heli’s.
what a great update to the game. Imagine a 30 man coming to your base with 700 rockets and wiping your base in 30 seconds! Brilliant!
It would be cool to see them add hangar doors to the game. It would open up a lot of neat build ideas I think.
Something like; 2x2 sized door frame with slow moving hangar doors that open and close vertically with the durability of sheet metal walls

has to have the same dura as a garage or that is dumb, people will abuse it for increase in raid cost if it doesnt have the same as a garage

you can shove a high gate in the entrance of a hangar and it'll serve most of your purposes with this thing and rhibs, but the tugboat.. I'd like it if the hangar doors fit the tug

The fact you can empty that many "real" (non-HV) rockets that fast is wayyy to OP. You could raid a solos base instantly! xD

and you must basicly stand still in the heli to have any accurecy while exposed to atacks from any side

@@mechanicer3105 get a personal sam site and turrets on a raid base below the heli or just go higher so the side walls protect you choice is yours
honestly they probably need to add some sort of rocket cooldown, otherwise these things will be essential for raids since it seems to be faster than having 4 people shoot rockets
With the way that looks, you can probably shoot 30 rockets before a single man can shoot 2....crazy....
costs 2.250 scrap per can only fire small box before having to land to reload and doesnt offer much more protection than a mini if it gets cooldown it loses its purpose
nah even tho zergs will abuse it you still exposed from the sides and the front and peeks are gonna be the way you are facing so they can land 1 good shot they could block plate helmet for sure tho

im assuming later into the month they will come out with specialized ammo similar to torpedo with a reduced cost/damage
They can rectify the solo pilot issue with crashing, by just allowing the helicopter to hover while using weapons. But the vehicle is then slowed down from moving forward sideways so on and so forth.
The earth quake effect on basses is going to be too much. Using just HV's, you could seriously hamper base's defense. Not sure of what I think of this
Looks like the rocket crosshair is adjusting itself for the drop of the rocket too. Could do this from a grid square away.

@@Parham1gh What? You ever played on a 500-1000 Pop Server where are Clans with 20-30 players? After a few hours into the wipe and they have boxes full of scrap. For Solos and small groups after all the new updates it's getting harder and harder.

I just keep getting amazed that Rust developers are still pushing out stuff for clans to use, but playing this game solo nowadays is quite hard to be fair, even though Im a veteran.

The only way you can do with the solos if you park at on a hill and shoot down at the base

look at it from another angle a duo can drill a zerg base if they aint carefull now...

Looks like the diamond in the gunner view shows where the rockets will impact. Looks cool, curious what tweaks they'll make to this
once they connect the subway with the railway, i can see this ending up under ground. as for usefulness, the initial attack on a base till they're shot down will be it's best attribute, i guess that's why they're coming out with parachutes too.
i feel like there should be a launcher slot where you can put up to 6 launchers in and depending on the amount, that is how many you can shoot before a mass reload. you could also put in gls and HEs in the ammo spot

Now this is going to be devastating in the right hands. You could decimate a Zerg with one of these. I think they should make it at least 2500 scrap and make it so that they can be shot down.

I can see a Zerg getting board and using it to go naked hunting.
with the amount of boom they can farm, they could probably do this a couple hours into wipe.
this is going to change the entire modded server scene the second this comes out

They should add an attachment slot to the rocket launcher to give it some sort of surface e to air lock on feature to counter these things

People already do rocket raids with like 3+ people rocketing. They're not going to nerf this.

You will need to build a hangar for this one, the normal mini type garages are not gonna cut it.
I like it but I have two things to say, 1. it needs a hover mode so a solo can use the turret while staying in the air and 2. cave bases will become even more overpowered
It looks like the Diamond Target is where the rockets will go but is controlled based on where the pilot is facing but shot by the gunner. If this is the case then it will require coordination between both people to get the rockets on target.
This definitely needs some tweaks not only the rocket barrage, but turret too. I think the turret being able to look almost everywhere could be a problem if a dude and their buddy just flew on a high enough altitude to where no one can shoot you is just crazy. Acts more like a Pavlow from MW3

Dial on the left is a Compass, lol. North, South, East and West with degrees indicating numbers between.
if the gunners camera was less green and static and the rockets were able to be fired by the pilot instead of the gunner it would be pretty cool to use

I feel like they should make the rockets usable by the pilot, especially since they can't be aimed by the gunner anyway and are dependent on the angle of the heli itself.
Ngl the first i saw what turned out to be rocket launchers on the side i thought they were floatation devices, for it too land on water which would have been cool
I think the rockets don't fire where you were trying to point like you do with the gun. They only fire straight on towards the square in the middle. So the driver essentially aims them.
They should add Back packs and snowmobile trailers for transporting loot
200 leather, 100HQM and 12 tech trash to craft a fighter jet helmet and you can now shoot the turret and rockets as a solo or alternatively extremely rare drop from locked crate or elite.

I hope they bring vehicle mods to air vehicles, I can only imagine this thing if you could swap out the rocket pods for homing missiles launcher they have been hinted at. or put a grenade launcher in the turret slot like you used to. Rust battlefield, fuck it rust warthunder.

Think we will be seeing camper vans with attack helis standing on top of them during raids :D For ground raids
They need to be able to shoot the rockets as the driver
This attack heli and the new manpad rocket will be adding will make this update interesting.
Got to play with Helk on Staging Branch for a short bit. Expect a few tweaks to the new heli!
I heard the rockets shooting through ramps change is a bug, and not intentional. Do you have any word on if and when this may be fixed?
It should honestly be permanent. I'm a builder but I dont think 8 rocket turrets should be a thing. It makes clan bases much, much harder to raid.
@@ItsNotEthereal Doesn't just effect clans, smaller groups also use ramps to protect turrets.
@@ohgoditsjames94 That just makes them more op lol. Imagine playing on a s/d/t server and you have to rocket out 8+ turrets covered by ramps while covering shooting floor, compound and looking for counters. It's just not possible if its a 3v3.
For pvp fire rockets will be meta you fly over the base and fire rocket at high speeds and get out.
would be nice if the turret could look straight down and turn an entire rotation, otherwise a gun in the copilot's hands might be better
imagine you are taking oil rig, you look into the sky, and see 4 of these attack helicopters filled with incendiary rockets, that would be mad your life would be gone in a blink

very cool but i think we are getting too deep into the endless possibilities of a game. I wish there was a game mode with none of the newer additions like tug boat, submarine, and things in this category.
As a submarine main, I look forward to shooting these out of the sky with the portable AA launcher and scooping up two full kits and a free box of rockets lmao.

This definitely going to be updated. Defending a raid is so thrilling and a nice experience.. basically taking all the chances for them to even fight back . Imagine a big group with mlrs and attack heli on you . Seems like an offline even while you being online . Ain’t nun you can rly do 😭🤷♂️

The diamond shape is where the rockets will hit 👍 this should test people’s ability to take heli 👍 I’d imagine, people think this is OP but you’d still easily be able to defend against it.
So this heli has high degree of attack power but shitty defense, because beamers will certainly down the pilot in 3 scs with those kinds of windows on the pilot seat. A good pilot would probably survive a bit longer, but it would be hard to get to a good angle to shoot the rockets.
Waiting for the Vietnam RP with them using incendiarys as napalm.

Because there's an open cockpit it will be very possible to defend against a heli raid.

I can already see ways this can be exploited when raiding. Just have a few slotted into a raid base pointed at where you want to blow in and have at it. No way to defend against that much of a barrage.
I think the pilot should be able to fire the rockets as he is aiming them, and the passenger shoots the minigun. That's how an attack heli should work i think.
They should make it possible to use flares for sam sites etc
they are working on flares for air and a homing rocket for ground defense

Imagine using the incen rockets in that bad boi to roast wipe bases
I expect devs will nerf the rocket payload amount / the rate of fire or this is too OP to defend against, if used in a raid. Perhaps make the AA lower tier or cheaper to research.
