    Nothing beats the sound of rain while camping - it’s so relaxing! Loved how you powered through with that portable coffee maker; perfect way to warm up in the wet weather. This is the kind of camping vibe I could watch all day! ❤ Only worry was you couldn't wear cowboy hat again ! :(

    • @lanbolyra
      @lanbolyra  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're spot on! After braving the storm, warming up next to the coals with a cup of hot coffee was just what I needed. Don’t worry, the hat isn’t going anywhere-I put it back on when the sun finally broke through. I just have to take extra care of the Akubra during downpours so I can keep wearing it for many more adventures! Always appreciate your support, mate!

      That’s exactly the experience we aim to share with you. Thank you for letting us know. When we immerse ourselves in the small, subtle moments-the rolling raindrops, the bubbling soup in the pot, or the drifting clouds that slowly shift shape-we truly live in the present, and all the stress just fades away.

    Thanks for such a wonderful video. It was indeed the PERFCT STORM!!! Loved the concept of the salmon with cheese / bread. I would additionally make a toastie out of it with the remaining salmon flavoured oil left in the pan. Also, tent made jam out of those blueberries. Such comfort food. I did notice you cutting the blueberries into 4 pieces at the start then just made two parts of it. Be honest. You got fed up of cutting them into 4 right?🤣🤣🤣 Keep such amazing videos coming. Cheers mate.

      Hahaha, you caught me! I was definitely starving in the morning, and halfway through I thought, "Why am I cutting all these berries into 4?" So I just went with halves instead! 😆 And yes, making a toastie with the leftover salmon-flavored oil is a brilliant idea-I’ll have to try that next time. Glad you enjoyed the video, mate. Cheers!

    • @lanbolyra
      @lanbolyra  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your continued support! I don’t follow an exact ratio when cooking, not just for jam but in general-I usually just go by feel.😊 I prefer my jam to be less sweet, so I tend to use less sugar than most recipes call for. Hope you and your dogs enjoy your time outdoors-safe travels and happy cooking!

    I'm always somewhat amazed at the amount of gear you take out. Are all your camp outs '1 night only'? I'd like to see a video of how you would pack your Jimny for a multi-night trip. Given the 30kg roof load limit and even the 2 seat configuration, I find much of the gear you showcase would not make the cut when I pack mine. Really cool seeing an inclement weather video. Thanks for another good one, always pleasing to see another Ivory Jimny out and about.

    • @lanbolyra
      @lanbolyra  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching and for the thoughtful comment! I’ve actually done multi-day car camping and even some backpacking trips with Lyra before we started making TH-cam videos. When it comes to sharing camping videos, though, filming a multi-day trip can get a bit repetitive for viewers, so most of our current videos are one-nighters. If you check out our earlier videos, you'll find one where we filmed an 11-day overland expedition in the NSW outback with our Jimny. We stayed one night at Ivanhoe Motel, two nights in a cave motel at White Cliffs, and then two nights' camping at Mutawintji, re-stock at Broken Hill, and finally three nights' camping at Mungo NP.
      On that trip, in addition to our usual gear for two, we carried a fridge, power station, solar panel, Starlink, and 15L of extra petrol. We used both charcoal and gas for cooking, and Jimny handled it all with no issues-proving it’s definitely capable of supporting a long overlanding adventure for a couple.
      For us, when packing for a multi-night trip, the biggest difference is usually just the amount of food we bring. In fact, I often pack enough food for 2-3 days even for a single night, especially when heading to remote areas, just in case something unexpected happens. 😊
      So, on TH-cam, our one-night camping videos aim to give you inspiration for camping recipes and gear selections that can enhance your own multi-day adventures.

    Good day!
    Thank you for your videos.
    They are very beautiful and atmospheric.
    I really like your tent. I want to buy it too
    Tell me your opinion about this tent. How good is it? What are its pros and cons in your opinion. How does it hold up in heavy rain?
    In one of the videos I saw that you had a TARP for it. I haven't found it yet. Is it really that good that I should keep looking for it? I would be very grateful for your answer about the tent. :)

    • @lanbolyra
      @lanbolyra  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching, mate! Overall, I’m very satisfied with the tent-it’s well-made and thoughtfully designed. As you’ve seen in my videos, we’ve used it in harsh conditions like storms, heavy rain, strong winds, intense UV on high plains, and even temperatures as low as -10°C, and the tent still looks new.
      For cons, I’d say it’s a bit tricky to set up, especially when you’re doing it alone. If you’re just looking for a spacious shaded area, you might not need a tent like this. But if you need a large enclosed space, this tent performs really well. It can definitely withstand strong winds and heavy rain, plus it has a built-in wood stove jack and snow skirts, making it suitable for winter camping too.
      As for the tarp, it’s not essential; it’s more about aesthetics than functionality. But if you like the look, it’s a nice addition.
