Welcome to the Blue Cactus Dairy Goat Ranch! We breed show quality Nigerian Dwarf Goats. We currently have a herd of 26 does and 6 bucks. Our herd is rotationally grazed on our 11 acre homestead in Arizona. We make cheese and soap from the milk we get and we also raise
Kunekune Pigs, Muscovy Ducks and Chickens. We also keep a large garden year round!

Very good reminder that no matter how your goat places in any particular show, the next show could have very different results, even against the same goats. Each judge looks for something different so never get discouraged by one show.

When you were being final lined up with Everest, I knew the judge was placing you first. I see that goats don't care when they're first like horses do lol. Major props to your whole family for getting back to life.
Why didn't they get a ribbon for Everest placing first, I must have missed something, my apologies.

Best In Show reminded me just how small Nigerian Dwarfs are. I know it's in the name, but you kind of forget until you see them next to a Nubian.

Thanks for the video, really good.When I was a child we were on a hobby farm with about ten Saanen goats, the 2 bucks were big & smelly and loved fighting each other, seeing the saanen buck at that show reminded me.

Every judge has there own ideas .. your goats are beautiful ....
This was so interesting. I was involved in dog shows for many years and in some ways this is similar. The main difference, however, is the dog show judge never comments on why he/she selected a certain dog over another. If he/she is asked they will say it's because they meet the standard for that breed. BTW, your husband should be a news reporter. He's really good at it.
I know a news commentator.
Reasons are given in dog shows in the FCI countries, but typed.
Reasons make or break a judge and I wish so much AKC (American Kennel Club) conformation show judges would be required to give reasons. I would then love to judge, as I think they are sadly missing a great opportunity to educate without giving just basic reasons. It also educates you as to what style animal the judge prefers when you hear their reasons.

Right?! I was shocked the judge didn't just remove him. He was upsetting that other buck as well. Shows how cool, calm and collected Everest is that he just stood there.
😂😂😂 last year my buck pulled me down on my face as we were entering the ring. He is usually so good but was being a diva that day. Thankfully the judge was nice 😂😂😂
