  • A big part of Performance Excellence is gathering good Process Knowledge and ensuring strong Process Control. This is the role of the Quality function within Continuous Improvement (like the Quality pillar in TPM or Quality workstream in other programs).
Regardless of the specific route you use to develop the Quality function, these are the 4 areas you need them to control and improve:
    1) Claims and Waste analysis
    2) Quality Control (prevent defects from reaching the customer)
    3) Process Control (making sure standards are maintained)
    4) Process Improvement (finding new, better process standards)
The Quality pillar/workstream should bring together people from the Quality department and colleagues from Technology, NPD, Engineering, and the like.
