Thanks for the update Dave, interesting project this one and a real fiddle of a job to get right. The folks that make custom boat covers and canopies for a living are very talented.
@@SailingWithDave talking about restoringn old boats... i spent a year restoring an old wooden enterprise, every time you thought you were done another patch of rot magically appeared😅 i think theres around 7/8 patches in her eventually finished (sort of). enjoy looking for another boat!
@@sailor-m7h And tyat was a small dinghy! I do think this boat is too big and too much work, but it was worth a look as it was offered to me for free really. The other issue is the lack of trailer which would probably cost me more than the boat!!! I have a Mirror too and, despite its size, being all wood has meant a surprising amount of work each year to keep her afloat. Thast not including the rp69591622eairs I have had to make too!!!
Hi Christophe. Sorry for the delay, I've been away sailing! The original PVC is black from here: www.profabrics.co.uk/collections/marine-fabric-pvc/products/lightweight-pvc-400gsm-1 But I think its too lightweight, so I bought some more but heavier weight in Burgundy, that matches the sails. www.profabrics.co.uk/products/pvc-620gsm It'll give you an idea of the stuff I used at least anyway so you can find it elsewhere. Pro frabrics may post to othe rcountries? Dave
I will check that, but I can't see anything repeated here. I did consider a wooden cuddy of some nature, but was worried about the windage with something being bolted onto the gunnels up high. I do wonder if I should get aboat with a cuddy!!!
@@Spud63 Well cabin ideally but i'd take a cuddy that you can just sleep in or get out of the rain for a bit. Anything to not have to take a tent really.
Hi, Dave,... I enjoy how you think ! Keep the joy of creating! Give the narrator a raise...😄
I will do. I think he'll like that!!

Yes I agree. Probably why they're so much money!

Starting to look good Dave
Cheers Tommo. Its a toughy this one
looking good!
i think a zip woul;d be a better option than velcro though,
neater and stronger
I agree and have obtained some zips. I htink the project will grow slowly until we get something usable!

at 28 mins you repaeted some clips, i can see the idea , and should do well , maybe a cuddy cabin would be a good project like Rob has
