Dog...i dont think we talk about the fact that this man got a wife, 3 kids, a twitch channel and a pro career and still takes the time out to give us gems. As a skater with 2 kids? I dont have the time to even attempt this and no idea how Tom makes this work. Thanks Tom. Heres the flowers you deserve 🌺 🌹 🌺
On top of that, he’s teaching everyone his knowledge where a lot of people really don’t try to spread the wealth if yk what I mean. Like no gatekeeping at all dude is so humble

you got it tried it yesterday after work because I saw this video and got it! i needed to add just a tad more speed and the 180 just floated out. Good Luck!
Thanks Tom. Dope video as always. You’re definitely helping a lot of people improve their skating. All the blunt slide variations would be cool. Take care.
awesome content. Really inspirational. I'm 44 being skating since 91. Fs nose grind 180 out is about all I can do out of all these beyond basic ledge tricks. Fs fakie ollie nose grind shove out is about the most tech i've done! Hope to work out some of these tricks!
Definitely still honing my ledge basics, but this makes the next step feel more attainable. I look forward to all your content, but enjoy when you share your experience and knowledge the most. Thanks Tom!
I just dont get it how a content like this with 14k visualization gets only 1k LIKES... Tom deserves much more for a masterclass like this... not an amatur, but an PRO from És, SantaCruz, etc... with such a long time and experience in skateboarding. Thank you very much Tom for this super detailed content. Cheers from Brazil!!!! I.m 40 years old and have following you carrer since the begining... we are so lucky nowadays we have this tecnology we didnt have in 90's to get lessons from PRO skaters.
I struggle with front tailslides. Can do all these tricks except the front tail tricks. And these videos are always fun to watch. Thanks for the tips 🤝
for me the easiest 270 out trick is fs noseslide 270. Im pretty good at halfcab noseslides but 270 out of that has always seemed tricky for me. cant wait to try it again with these tips though! id like to see you cover bigspin out the other way, so back tail fs bigspin out and front tail backside bigspin out (not sure if thats the proper naming for them)
Hey Tom, could you explain the nollie shuv crooks in a vid at some point ?? 🙏🏽 I’ve been doing them to nose manny and that kinda got me juiced to throw em into crooked grinds 👊🏽
This is inspiring, I’m 31, been skating for over 20 years, I just got back into skating 2 years ago, I’ll say that I understand how to do most of these tricks, but my body just doesn’t work the way it used to, work and other parts of my life have made it hard to skate recently, 2 summers ago I got pretty good but I fell of this year, I want to get the tricks back, I know I can, and watching these trick tips helps me get a better understanding on these tricks, I used to just do these tricks, I didn’t have to think about it to much, not saying I was the best or anything, it was just much easier for me, but I also skated everyday, I am looking forward to going to the skate park and getting back tail big spins out, it’s wild that back tails are easier for you, I had a friend like that growing up, frontside is definitely easier for me
get back to it man! have fun with it and take it slow! hope the videos can help you! dm me or send the back tail big spin clip in my discord if you get it! would love to see it !
@@tomasta thanks for the encouragement, I think I can manage that, back tails are a trick for me that I can do, it's just not as consistent as I'd like, but I've notice when I think about doing something out of any slide trick, I get into the slide or grind easily, but when I'm just focused on the slide or grind it doesn't come as easy, I struggle with front crooks too, I've landed some they just feel super uncomfortable, these tips do help me tho, I wouldn't think to lean forward on the front tail big spin, and again I've done that, just usually either over or under rotate it and hit the ledge, I just need to sharpen up and start skating more often
@@tomasta also I feel the east coast struggle man, I grew up in Baltimore, and I've skated in Philly, New York, New Jersey, and Boston, the weather makes it a little harder to go out and get clips, but I don't mind skating in the cold, it's the snow that sucks
Got front tails down solid, out regular and fakie. Been workin on adding in flip tricks and shuvs and accidentally discovered a front 270/360 out is super easy for me to figure out and am now working on finding a ledge tall enough to get it smooth and fluid
Thanks again for a great video Tom! I'm good in Backtails and can do Shuvits and Bigspins too. But Backtail 270 seems like a whole different thing to me. Never was able to land one. So I would love to see a video for that! But for now I will consider to learn the Fs Tails and try the 270s from that one. Until then - keep up doing what you do.
Kick Flip Back Tail Has Always Been One I’ve Wanted To Learn,After I Fractured 3 Ribs Skateboarding Just Got Harder Bro,I’m Still At It But Man It’s Nothing Like It Used To Be,I’m Gonna Start Trying Them Again,Because I Gotta Get This One,Thanks Fir The Pointers Tom,Hope You And Your Family Are Well💪🏽❤️🛹🐐
I think the shuv out is almost the way to learn backtails. When learning backtails the bails are usually not enough rotation and to much and a slip out. A backtail shuv is kinda of a controlled slip out. Its also easier in my opinion in my mind when im on the ledge. ( this primarily for short back tails) for a backtail regular or to fakie you have to be in certain spots pressure wise and shoulders on the slide. For a backtail shuv you don't really have to worry so much. Its more a half shoulder trun to get there but more hip turn then once the slide happens push through with you back foot. The board will catch up and because your half committing your shoulders you'll go back to regular. If you slip out a backtail big spin starts to come into the picture hahah
Thanks for all the pointers Tom! Always killin' it!! How about a video on switch tailslides, backside and frontside!! That would be HUGELY appreciated!!! IDK if that's asking too much? LOL Thanks!
Great video, im always stoked to see your videos! I would love a video about the key to “one footed grind/slides” like tail slide, 5-0, nose slide and Crocked grind etc. I know you did the key to holding slides and grinds, witch helped me a lot. But I still struggle to do these slides and grinds, and think it could be a good topic for a video😊 Keep up the amazing job and being you❤️
Thanks for the lesson and motivation dude. Your too gosh darn good. Plus it’s getting cold (good excuse..) maybe in spring I’ll try em. They look cool to do. Peace
Thanks Tom, this was very helpfull ! It seems you always drop the exact video of the tricks I am working on 😂like nosegrinds reverses and bc tail big spin. Are you planning on a blunt video? Thanks again man 🙌

Thanks Tom, I'm gonna try a few of these in my next few sessions. I want to do a back tail bigspin before I can't skate any more. (I am 48 and have arthritis in my knees and hips). If I get it, I'll send you the link. I'm still rolling on your Ricta wheels and have a new set waiting. They're still rolling smooth so haven't changed them yet. Must be 6 months now.
Backtails scare me. I can Ollie tables but don’t pop my back 180s well so I don’t ever think I’ll get my tail up on the ledge. lol. I really need to get those. It’s been avoided for years.
Thanks for your advices! 🙏🛹💪 Your are so humble and explain really good! I need to try halfcab noseslide 270 and bigspin out. 😅 They look fantastic and like you said they are doable with enough speed! 🙏 Keep the good content coming! 🔥
I have been chasing fs tail 270 for 15-20 years and never landed it, but I have landed both version of fs tail bigspins out. Same goes for half cab noseslide 270. Be happy with the tricks you got, if you can learn new ones good job! but if you still go other variations, there is no shame on not trying to land all versions of a trick. Thanks for the video Tom!

Nice tips, I like how you explain the thought process for these tricks. In case you are looking for ideas - popping bigspins on flat. I am not sure why but I never figured them fully. Most of the time I can't get that proper scoop and often it goes to primo. I can do bigflips, but bigspins and 3-shovs never made sense to me. Maybe you have some tips to overcome that.
