I completely get your valid point, hindsight and all. Meeting the other smiths was an ingenious way for the writers to open up the Mr and Mrs Smith’s world as well as progress their relationship to the next level. I sure as hell was intrigued in how they all interacted with each other and what they knew and could educate Jane and John on, for example the pact they made in episode 2 pretty much got blown up and showed them their are no “outs” in this something they didn’t know until their meeting.
I was thinking this whole episode is what in the heck are these two smart and intelligent people thinking. The excitement of meeting two additional Smiths made them drink some stupid juice. How do you not ask some more questions of the new John and Jane. Why are you having them at your place first, ask to meet at their place. Blunders: they tell them they failed a mission, they gave a tour of house and panic room, where there guns are stashed, that they wanted to at some point separate and go there own way, OMG 🤦🏾 you just opened your book to them. And why no response question to, so you are super high risk, what do you do that is super high risk that is different from high risk. Also, when they laughed about people wanting to separate and go their own way, red flag people, so I am asking why are you laughing, people can never separate and live. I honestly believe the older John and Jane were sent to vet our John and Jane to see what they were all about and if they had the makings of going up to Super High risk. However, they quickly determined they were to green for immediate elevation but still needed to see if they could execute a kill a Smith mission or if they would be killed themselves which was probably the ultimate goal. Another intriguing episode. Also the I love you’s came out and took their love story to another level. They went from sex partners to full blown lovers quickly.
YYYAAAAYYYY! My second favorite Syntell reaction series ("Doctor Who" is first)!!! I hope you guys continue to warm up to the series!! I think that the guys make good points about the couple exposing too much about themselves. However, look at it this way. They're meeting the only people that they can talk to about what they really do for a living. Imagine having no one to talk to about the dangerous things they've done except each other. Talking to the 2nd Smiths must have been like therapy to them.
