Things just got worse and harder drug element came in. The club got simultaneously more grimy and more glamorous and something had to give. The idea of Hacienda was to make history and it certainly did that.
@@anyawaleofondo Most noted? Loads went in that canal and I know for a fact, not via a book or hearsay. As a matter of fact I know of some middle class harmless drunken student who got the treatment, poor show doing that to a straight go’er
Funny you should say that it was a little suspicious that he died on a quad bike just as he started to make big money I always though that myself, but I remember growing up not far from him and him chasing a family member in a park on quads messing around and he fell of then also but no serious injuries, but growing up in Manchester not anyone had a bad word to say about Damien yeah people feared him but at the same time I heard he was always fair
Although Damien was the youngest of the Noonan brothers, for me he was the most mature of the brothers. He had a big heart and was key in keeping the peace between the rival gangs. I remember one occasion Cheetham Hill came to the Hacienda 30 strong outside the doors and were looking to cause trouble, and Damien himself calmed the situation himself. Nice bloke that went too soon.
The real boss out of all of them salford and cheetham hill boys was paul flannery thats facts mate he own all the doors the man is a millionaire still yhis day
A YOUNG Damien scrapped with Paul Doyle when Paul was fresh out and fitter than he'd ever been and paul couldn't drop him. Paul's own words on a podcast. All over the shop in Manchester people would tell you Damien could have a real go. Paul also rates Graham Boardman and it was either Dessie or Damien who was in the car with Paul Massey and wouldn't get out when Graham asked for a straightener. Graham only moved doors when after stabbing someone from Cheatham Hill. He was never scared of the Noonans or the Salford lot backing them
I went in the hacienda week after week for several years. The head doorman was always Leroy Richardson (big Rasta). That was until the Salford crew led by the Noonans took over the doors.Dessie was a bull of a man and always took the front door, he dragged me in a back room once and made me remove my shoes and socks as they thought I was selling the little fellas . Damien was always on the top balcony near the DJs booth. Dominick I didn’t see much at the hacienda as he spent most time in the bars on Canal street ( those from Mcr will know). And the killer of White Tony was well known to be DN
Leroy Richardson was not really Rasta and I would imagine that he spent just a short time as Hacienda head doorman. He managed Dry Bar from start to finish.
@@anyawaleofondo Leroy did manage Dry but he was head doorman at the Hac years before that. Dry didn’t open until the hacienda had been going for about 6/7 years. Totally different times to the Noonans
@@mcfcaguerooo5697 I maintain that Leroy was head doorman at Hacienda for short time if at all. He had locks but was in no way a rasta. When I met him he was a black indie kid like me.

Hi Pete. In the account of that incident in the book "Gang War" by Peter Walsh, he says there was a "world class boxer" involved in that little turnout , was that Steve Foster ?
@@michaelsullivan6834 Cheers Mike .

Absolutely bro 😎 I’ve got more in this in part 2 ❤️
@@yammybtv brilliant il give it a watch, nice to see content about him there’s not enough
💥🎉💯👊🥂
Although Damien was the youngest of the Noonan brothers, for me he was the most mature of the brothers. He had a big heart and was key in keeping the peace between the rival gangs. I remember one occasion Cheetham Hill came to the Hacienda 30 strong outside the doors and were looking to cause trouble, and Damien himself calmed the situation himself. Nice bloke that went too soon.
My era was the early 90s
What days they were ✌️
I remember Damian from jail & you never hear a bad word about him tbh
RIP ✌️
💯❤️

Nice one yammy

Sorry Damian
Mark Duggan uncle
Yes
A YOUNG Damien scrapped with Paul Doyle when Paul was fresh out and fitter than he'd ever been and paul couldn't drop him. Paul's own words on a podcast. All over the shop in Manchester people would tell you Damien could have a real go.
Paul also rates Graham Boardman and it was either Dessie or Damien who was in the car with Paul Massey and wouldn't get out when Graham asked for a straightener. Graham only moved doors when after stabbing someone from Cheatham Hill. He was never scared of the Noonans or the Salford lot backing them
Ok 👌
True words.💯
Doyle says a lot about folk who are no longer here, not so much about those who are

Nah underground fat Sam’s Glasgow and Dundee was good night out 🎉

Ps : pretty sure Leroy was indeed a Rastafarian- bless
@@mcfcaguerooo5697 I maintain that Leroy was head doorman at Hacienda for short time if at all.
He had locks but was in no way a rasta. When I met him he was a black indie kid like me.
@@mcfcaguerooo5697 Dry Bar was part of Noonan era.

Absolutely
Was there the night when the doormen got served up by Salford boys. Brutal mate Damien was the best of the brothers in my opinion as dezzie was a messy with addiction when he was stab taxing a crack dealer. As for Don he just a bacon 🥓.
Hi Pete. In the account of that incident in the book "Gang War" by Peter Walsh, he says there was a "world class boxer" involved in that little turnout , was that Steve Foster ?
@@bobmathews9072could be Pat Barrett. Foster was never classed at true world class, especially at that time.
@@michaelsullivan6834 Cheers Mike . Walsh is a bit vague as he doesn't specify whether the boxer was "world class" at the time of the incident or has become so since (ie at the time of him writing the book). My first thought was Ricky Hatton for some reason , did he have any friends in those circles ?
Is this 91 summer party.
Ricky way too young and not like that. I'm almost certain it's Pat Barrett. He was known to be high up in Cheetham Hill, he doesn't try to hide it.
