I'd loved to have gone to the Hacienda but being from south london I normally stuck to Laser Drome, Bagley's, Camden, Jungle Fever at Astoria ect, I went up to Milton Keynes for Helter skelter quite a few times but that was about as far as I got.
Yammy thank you so much for all the uploads, I've spent most my adult life and late teens in and out of Nick, seeing you thrive after all the bird and trauma you've done and been through is an inspiration. I got a local release from Thames side in 2021, I've stuck to probation and I don't want to waste any more of my life behind the door.
    Cheers mate
    Your doing God's work 🙏

I remember when I was about 16 and first time going to the Hacienda, i had a couple of miniature JD spirits and Damien after a pat down found them in my pocket but still let me in with them! Behind me was a some meat head with a thick gold chain and Damien says to him “not tonight mate”

He's not the mid we knew from those days now..Dessie was at Hacienda,,didn't meet or know Damien though he was respected they say from all over and a peacekeeper?

Good vid-drop yammy interesting stuff on Damìon! I went to acienda in early 88' when I ran off from kids home and got in with a few others and one of the lads I was with got glassed and we did one but later that year I got jail oct88 and went the way's and then Northallerton [N/yorks] and I was on association one night at Xmas and got talking to a lad from Manchester and it was only the lad that glassed my pal he said bouncers got him and police! He got 3yrs for it and was gutted he looked like morrisey clone and wasn't the type at all but goes to show drink n drugs but what a small world hey..."Ben Bagley he was called (I'll never forget the lad) long story but just got me thinking when you were chatting about hacienda/bouncers etc...(by the way I thought it was small as f■ck,hot and sh!te) sorry but it was! @@johngallacher4520 can I ask John were you from U look familiar and John when Damian died in the crash in the Dominican Republic they just lost it bad the empire they had built up and believe it was an empire, ppl didn't phone the police they phoned the Noonans them Paul flannery, Paul Massey and I don't know one or two others who you haven't heard of Cos U always get them maybe it was an high ranking old bill cos as U know and MR B would confirm this that every I don't want to say gang cos that's child's play FIRM we will go wi that but whoever U are your paying a plod , and the more higher you get the more money you paying the, and probably a chief inspector or higher up,cos even if you are paying you still have to go away for like one or two years but them Noonans had it boxed off and not just Manny and you know ppl, who are up at the top of the tree when they're sending flowers to even though I don't rate them but the krays and Franky Fraser ppl like that but Damian was the glue that kept them apart and that's when you noticed Dominic starting to look worried, and when Desmond was murdered Dominic knew the game was up cos they been keeping his dirty, seedy, sleazy little secret Cos I don't think he was much of a fighter he was more the clever one that made the money, and they had their hands in every fucken pie going. obviously they would have made shed loads of cash, sorry to go on mate but ppl like to know this kinda thing. Like dessie noonan after The Incredible Hulk died cos that's what Damian was like an absolute bull he was huge. But that's when Dessie went on the crack and he was a big drinker and he just lost it big time but when he had a sesh it was a sesh and he could smoke thousands of pounds worth, and it didn't take long to need to go round taking drugs off ppl he would say give me your crack and if you didn't he would hurt you and take it anyway but I don't think Dessie deserved to die in the gutter but also why should he just go round taking it off ppl and then probably sitting there smoking it in front of them and blow in there faces. But as we all know and MR B will confirm it, LIVE BY THE SWORD, DIE BY THE SWORD. And he knew that, even though he would of done it anyway, but before Damian died he wouldn't of done that and if anyone else had done that he would of hurt them cos he was a very dangerous guy and he was supposed to have loads of notches on what ever piece he used, it's weird because everyone like that has a favourite and they even name them like one of the bin lids it's crazy but it's also funny in a twisted kinda way. but certainly not a dirty, sleazy, kinda way .thanx for listening, I can't remember how long Dominic got or what left but I don't know if he would go back to Manchester or if he been warned off.

Yes Yammy, respect to you mate 🙏
Did any of you actually go to the Hac in its heyday ?
It was a groundbreaking club and cool as fuck in the 80’s and even in the early 90’s but the scene like any fashion and any underground cultural movement had all become a bit commercial the longer it went on, which is why weasels on white lightening and whizz were flexing their Giros in there when all the real elite scene people had moved on. It wasn’t new or groundbreaking anymore and true clubber wanted to score, get high, love, dance, laugh, relax and didn’t want the mither of what the Hac had become (some would argue because of the door wars, I believe Carlton Leech and his firm had a little go at the Hac door, according to one of his debt collectors I knew, who ended up on the Blackpool doors).
Damian could proper box and have a proper dirty ho too, he was ruthless when need be, that’s why he was so feared.
Tommy Morgan was proper and he was a gent, Wythenshawe lad, respect to him
Finally Salford did NOT take the door, it remained with the Noonans whatever your opinion of them.
I will say this though, that knocking fuck out of drunken students and johns then taking them around the back of the club to throw into the canal, is not something I personally respected.

I went to the Hacienda on first day to try to get membership.
Got knocked back as I was 14.
When I did get in I found a sparse attendance and self conscious aspirant savants comparing hairstyles.
I saw several gigs there when it was a venue.
Bouncers would let you have a spliff if discrete.
Everything changed with arrival of ecstasy and the art project got real.
Rave came and the Hacienda was prominent and took off.
The working class lads and lasses turned up in droves which delighted Tony
      Wilson.
In their wake came the violent criminals hoo wished to control the door and sell drugs.
All associated with Hacienda took or sold drugs and Tony Wilson smoked weed daily as well as reading news on acid.
Very little alcohol was sold for years at Hacienda.
The club always tried to employ doorstaff from outside the city but were
forced to employ Moston, Salford faces (Noonans) to fend off Cheetham Hill, Salford, Moss Side attempts to gain influence.
Things just got worse and harder drug element came in.
The club got simultaneously more grimy and more glamorous and something had to give.
The idea of Hacienda was to make history and it certainly did that.

A YOUNG Damien scrapped with Paul Doyle when Paul was fresh out and fitter than he'd ever been and paul couldn't drop him. Paul's own words on a podcast. All over the shop in Manchester people would tell you Damien could have a real go.
Paul also rates Graham Boardman and it was either Dessie or Damien who was in the car with Paul Massey and wouldn't get out when Graham asked for a straightener. Graham only moved doors when after stabbing someone from Cheatham Hill. He was never scared of the Noonans or the Salford lot backing them

I went in the hacienda week after week for several years. The head doorman was always Leroy Richardson (big Rasta). That was until the Salford crew led by the Noonans took over the doors.Dessie was a bull of a man and always took the front door, he dragged me in a back room once and made me remove my shoes and socks as they thought I was selling the little fellas .
Damien was always on the top balcony near the DJs booth. Dominick I didn’t see much at the hacienda as he spent most time in the bars on Canal street ( those from Mcr will know).
And the killer of White Tony was well known to be DN
