Lindumusa Nxele why are members allowed to bring up numerous points of order during the debate. In the uk, the speaker would refuse to hear the points of order until after the debate.

@Yutube Lurker You are right, it seems insurmountable to jump from 8% to 50% but in politics you don't necessarily needs 50% to influence policies. Today in South African political landscape EFF is influencing policies with just a mere 8%. So now that ANC may be below 50% (this is just my opinion though) they may need that 8% to retain power if they agree on certain policies. ANC and EFF have already agreed on Free Education Policy, Land Expropriation without compensation, and many more to come. Don't focus much on the leap from 8 to 50 but rather on what EFF is able to do even with just a mere 8%.

Mpho Mashigo Steenhuisen never lied. It’s not a parliament requirement to have a diploma or a degree to be an MP and Steenhuisen also never managed a SOE into the ground. Big difference he? I respect John Steenhuisen because I think he is an excellent Chief Whip who knows all parliament rules of by hart. When he rises on a point of order he quotes the exact right rule without having to look it up, something that neither the ANC parliamentarians or the EFF can do. So tell me, who’s the best Chief Whip?

Wow hats off to the speaker, what patience, most of the parliamentary members are like children, and have no respect for the speaker, for the house and for the ordinary taxpayers who contribute to their salaries. The dignity of parlement members is clearly seen when everyone listens to a EEF spokeperson, WITHOUT INTERRUPTING THE speaker. NOT THE SAME by the unruly EEF members while other parties are speaking. This bad manners is a shame on the leader who cannot teach good manners to his party's representatives. Such a shame. Maby it's a strategy to shorten the person's time who only had a few minutes to speak. (is a stop watch ⌚ needed in parlement?) Respect is earned Mr Julius Malema.
