I love the Hollis! That split exhaust on the 350 single really talks! The whole bike displays the fruits of untold hours of methodical thought. Simply a masterpiece. Thanks so much for taking the time to bring this ingenious motorcycle to us. As for the designer, Well done you!
Absolute credit to the designer/builder. Engineering and aesthetics perfectly blended Cheers from proud RE owner. Wish I could get one of yours in Aistralia.
Why ad the complication? A well set up carburetor will give you thousands of miles of carefree motoring with only minor maintenance. With EFI you're adding significant complexity and greater cost. I would hazard to say that thisaccessible. This Hollis fills the bill. I wonder, does the Company plan to expand into America? Or, barring that, will they ship?
It seems that a sentence was removed from the above comment. I meant to make the point that simplicity and ease of maintenance is what makes a great motorcycle, and this Hollis has that in spades! I would hazard to guess that this bike has less than 12 wires and 4 circuits in the whole electrical system and wiring loom! I love a motorcycle that has everything "on show" and easily accessible. It makes for a really enjoyable road bike and is a real blessing if you find yourself having to hunt down a problem on the side of the road!
@@cleophusA very simple. I will illustrate the issue with an analogy. I am old enough to have had to get my music from analog records. At the time it was all we knew and there was a whole ritual about getting, owning and scratching them too. Today I have a spotiffy account. I can’t see a single reason why when given the choice I would pick an LP over my digital playlists. There is no perceptible technical advantage of analog music over digital, apart from how the listening experience is affected by nostalgia. Back to motorcycles :-). Same applies to carbs against EFI, at least from my POV, having owned both types of bikes.
@@rodintoulouse3054 Was in the HiFi Industry for 35 years and never bought a CD player. I use Spotify Premium for back ground music. Vinyl is my goto for sitting down and listening. My 50 year old LP's are fine. Well looked after just like the Carbs on my bikes.
@@carmenandthedevil2804 as i said: nostalgia over performance. I am not saying you are wrong. You just get your kicks out of old less efficient technologies because that is what you value. My sin is that I love wearing analog watches that only tell the time :-)
Nicely made...looks highly incomplete on the ass end, presumably to pander to the fad of grinding off the rear end of perfectly good motorcycles...In any case, Props to him for making his bike happen. Congrats to all who own and ride one.
I am sure I once read that Vincent bikes preferred girder folks because they considered them better than telescopic, they were more stable and didn't bounce around so much on the road. mono at the bike girder on the front and an engine 30 years in ahead of anyone else
Awesome design as all motorcycles should be today and not a mass of poorly designed plastics. I hope it's well received so the price drops and I get one..
A gorgeous bike. Would I buy one? No. £16k would buy a decent classic. Brakes? Who needs those? Well done, pal, it's brilliant. (And I have a thing about 350 singles,). 👍
Beautiful motorcycles, no superbikes but beautiful motorcycles to enjoy the environment. Too bad motorcycle manufacturers don't make these kinds of things, they prefer to sell expensive superbikes, which you can't ride well on all kinds of back roads and at the end of the day have a sore back and wrists and have to pay a lot of money for a service.
It's a hand made motorcycle and made by the designer. You are comparing it with the prices of motorcycles that are mass produces in the thousands. Zero Eng in the USA did something very similar about 10 years ago using a HD Evo engine and those were £19K back then. You are paying for everything including the R&D over a very small volume production so you shouldn't moan about the price. The guy has to make a living...
But did you listen to the guy? He had good things to say... Your average fella is not used to being interviewed. Would you do better? Could you come up with that bike? Nitpicking. A sad thing.
All very well and good, but for a basic low power 350 Enfield engine albeit with better quality ancillaries he’ still asking more than double what the bike is worth.

Fantastic! The best of both worlds. Classic looks and reliable technology. I’d love to own one of these one day… but with EFI 😁. Great interview Dave

A really good piece of engineering, what a great bike. He likes OK doesn't he? £16,000 definitely a rich boys toy.
Absolutely love it. Please go into production so I can buy one.
so cool!

Labour of Love ❤️, 👍
I like it, it's very functional lite and nimble easy on fuel n low maintenance I hope the make a manx race version
Marvelous.
Wonderfull bike, for shure. And story told with an awfull lot of "ahgkay"... ;o)
Ok, I want one.

Very interesting Dave . Maybe if the price drops one day?
sweet. Harley Davidson should send some designers your way.
Amazing bikes! Thanks for covering this team. Wish I could see them in person, missed the opportunity.
I'm curious, where are you heading next?
We ate based in Bordon Hampshire, and currently no. 009 is in production.
owkay, it looks pretty owkay... owkay

Price is nice too.
Are there available in the USA?
Very good bike with a classic style.
It can be better with 19-21'' wheels and Avon Speedmaster tyres.
Now that’s a nice bike, suppose the price does reflect on its being bespoke👌
Love those old Enfield engines, brings me sweet memories of india
Where did the petrol tank come from? I am looking for one just like this for my T150 project.
@grahampoynter4911 it's a custom tank, we still make them.
It's unique in the market place, but somehow looks like a 'proper' bike.
damned good effort
Luvely :-)
I want one ! . . . but 16,000 British pounds ?! Outch !
😎

Nice bike, at 16,000 lbs. one's paying for the R&D.

Did this guy bet someone how many times he could say OK? He's started an epidemic, even the guy interviewing is at it!
But did you listen to the guy? He had good things to say... Your average fella is not used to being interviewed. Would you do better? Could you come up with that bike? Nitpicking. A sad thing.
@@billdyke9745 fun though ;-) He doesn't need you to defend him, did you hear how much he wants for one?
@glideman the price is dictated by the quality and effort. Everything on that bike has been made to customer's requirement.
All very well and good, but for a basic low power 350 Enfield engine albeit with better quality ancillaries he’ still asking more than double what the bike is worth.
Oh get rid of the carb go with a psi carb it will give way more horse power and cleaner exhaust
Gorgeous bike
