Dam I love this band. They sound absolutely incredible live! The good ole days when music was real, bands had talent and shows were magical! Give me back my rock please! 💜💜🎵🎵💜💜
I'm 67 yrs old and saw them 2 nights ago at The York Barbican. Best they have ever been. Ian's voice and Billy's guitar playing best I've ever seen. Took my 25 yr old daughter and her boyfriend, both were totally blown away !!
Billy not only nailed the guitar solo but improved it over the album version. What a fantastic live performance. No gimmicks just straight rock and roll
1:24 Ian's big belting "BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY" never fails to give me chills. Be it the studio recording or any live performance; man's got some pipes!
Killing it!!! Saw these guys for the first time in 1989 in LA. Jumped onstage and Matt Sorum gave me his drumsticks which, I still have. Still one of the best songs ever!
It's a shame The Cult is still underrated. I remember talking about them and some people didn't give a sh*t or they just knew "She sells Sanctuary". How come?
Love this lineup. Yes, James' bass playing was great and complemented Billy's guitar. The drums were a powerhouse by Les. Ian, a brilliant front man with vocals and movement.
Fkn amazing band. Well and truly massively underrated and unappreciated ❤❤❤❤❤ The Old Grey Whistle Test was the ultimate invitation for any British band back in the day
I remember dancing to this in the Amphitheatre at The Brunel Rooms in Swindon. Must have been 1986 or 1987. We were called 'Alternatives' back then and the crowd that followed the top 40, bands like Wham etc were called 'Casuals'. Happy days! 😊
Wowww!! Jaja.. GRACIAS POR EXISTER.. 💯✨🤩😍🌟😘🙏🎵🎼🎶🎸🎙️🥁🎸🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦❤️❤️❤️
They are absolutely on point here, especially Ian's vocals. Sounds as good as the record. How I miss those days when the charts had a variety of genres including kickass Rock like this. Sadly the charts seemed to go on a downward spiral around the early-mid 00's. Don't get me wrong, I am well aware there are still talented bands making good music but sadly, it doesn't have a cat in hells chance of making the charts which now consists of auto-tuned, samey-sounding, boring drivel aimed at the social media-obsessed, Gen Z snowflakes. Glad I grew up in the 70s and 80s.
Agree with you. The garbage that dominates today. I grew up in the 60s 70s 80s. I was mid twenties when The Cult broke through with She Sells Sanctuary. That song still sounds fresh and hasn't dated to me.
GNR opened up for them in Houston in 1987. Most people didn't know who they were and Guns and Roses had a bad night. I though they were the worst band I had ever seen. Six months later they were number 1 in the world. Who knew?
If I were trapped on a deserted island and could only have ONE song, this is my song!! My rock band Room 13 would play this at the bars (and we looked the part) and people wouldn't know it. 😳 Always someone would come up and say like, " Dude you guys Rock! What was that talking bout love song"? 😅 The backin vocals, the breaks in between chords with only my drums.... SH%T YEAH!!
Marc
Pretty sure this was the same year they came to my town. Their OPENING act was Guns N’ Roses. I had just turned 16 and wanted to go so bad. Unfortunately: parents.
I heard them at a record store demoing that Album with Wildflower and I purchased it and played it non stop 2 days
Dyyyyyyyyyam that had to be BadAss!!!!
Just what the music world needs today. Real, uncut, straight rock and roll!
Dam I love this band. They sound absolutely incredible live! The good ole days when music was real, bands had talent and shows were magical! Give me back my rock please! 💜💜🎵🎵💜💜
FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK, I SALUTE YOU!
You need to listen to Clutch my friend.
Oh yes , l totally agree 👍. I miss those days fiercely! KEEP ON ROCKIN MY FRIEND!!! ( the best that u can) !
Too late. You will have Taylor Swift or nothing.
You said it right
I'm 67 yrs old and saw them 2 nights ago at The York Barbican. Best they have ever been. Ian's voice and Billy's guitar playing best I've ever seen. Took my 25 yr old daughter and her boyfriend, both were totally blown away !!

Agreed, you can see his satisfied smile when he nailed it! 🙂
William H Duffy
Best live version of this song ever captured on video. Perfect. 10/10
Best line up of the band.
You've got to be kidding. Les Warner a better drummer than Nigel Preston? Do yourself a favour.
@@ElectricLabel LOL just what I was thinking. Les was okay for the more basic rock stuff, I guess.
@@ElectricLabel Les slapped in Electric but Mickey Curry and Michael Lee are the best drummers The Cult ever had
Really upbeat rhythm. The bass pumps in this version. Love it 🙌🔥🎸🎤
Loving the pronounced bassline!
Just noticed, bassist is beautiful, too
My band! This is THE CULT!!!
Seriously. Few bands are as cool as the Cult. Also, best name ever.
I love the amount of bass in this mix!
They made some great albums and were absolute rock stars. I've seen them four times.
Rock n' Roll at its finest
1:24 Ian's big belting "BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY" never fails to give me chills. Be it the studio recording or any live performance; man's got some pipes!
That voice..🔥🔥🔥
Killing it!!! Saw these guys for the first time in 1989 in LA. Jumped onstage and Matt Sorum gave me his drumsticks which, I still have. Still one of the best songs ever!
Cool you got his drum sticks i would have danced with Ion❤
So glad they went down the rock and roll path. One of the most underrated bands IMO.
love this great band
One of my favorite songs of The Cult
Underrated band. A sound all their own...🔥
It's a shame The Cult is still underrated. I remember talking about them and some people didn't give a sh*t or they just knew "She sells Sanctuary". How come?
I was there when they were the Southern Death Cult watching them in Manchester, saw them in Leeds and also come on stage and duet with the Mission.
No Brasil então você difícilmente acha quem conheça além do superficial. Esse canal é ouro para os saldosistas dos 80's..
@@jeancastro112 pois é, uma dificuldade para achar os álbuns. Mesmo na época, só o Love e o Sonic temple.eram mais fáceis de achar.
Too good 👍🙏
I think they are getting noticed now
Just plain wicked!
Baby baby baby I fell from the sky ...
Great band. Seen them live 3 times. Never disappointed
3x as well, really like them
"Billy" a frickin great guitar 🎸 player ☮️
Love The Cult!
Saw them open up for Billy Idol in '87 and a few times over the subsequent years. In my Top 10 all-time.
Thanks for uploading this
Our pleasure!
What an amazing band. I particularly like this lineup. Lots of swagger. These guys always get the job done.
Certified fire. I first heard the band at a small club in the late 80s. Been a fan ever since.
Who’s is still here in Dec 2024!! 👍👍
Was there in ‘87 still here in 2024 and 2025 🤘
Me
Prime Cult right here. Amazing.
Baby, Baby,Baby! I fell from the sky!
Jamie's bass and Les' drums killed it. Such a great album
The mixing is just right. 👍
Yes! I love this album! The Cult saved Rock with this track! Electric is pure Rock 'n' Roll! Long Live The Cult! ❤❤
Love this lineup. Yes, James' bass playing was great and complemented Billy's guitar. The drums were a powerhouse by Les. Ian, a brilliant front man with vocals and movement.
Great group
Ian Rules!!!!!!!!! 🤘😤
Thanks so much for uploading this to HD!
Fkn amazing band. Well and truly massively underrated and unappreciated ❤❤❤❤❤ The Old Grey Whistle Test was the ultimate invitation for any British band back in the day
I have never seen this performance, they were absolutely on point, amazing, fully rehearsed for the Electric tour ❤
This song is so kick ass , and love the up tempo ending, fkn brilliant

From the day this came out to the present day I still sing 'Heavy Trevor' instead of having trouble, never faile
Remarkable band. Forever in hall of Rockers..GOD bless 🙌.......
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!
😎👍
Eu sempre amei e amo essa banda ❤Quem mais em 2024 Novembro?
💃💃🥂🍾🌲
Cult Forever Forever Cult!
Love and Electric are 2 of the best guitar albums ever. Not particularly technical or amazing but so so pleasing to the soul
Dayummm❤ how can people not listen to this😍

Incredible
I saw them in San Diego in the 80s, and they were Awesome!
They are absolutely on point here, especially Ian's vocals.
Sounds as good as the record.

about as good as it gets!
Agree with you. The garbage that dominates today. I grew up in the 60s 70s 80s. I was mid twenties when The Cult broke through with She Sells Sanctuary. That song still sounds fresh and hasn't dated to me.
Saw them last october best live band .
Isso sim que é música!!!
Oh my goodness finally a man who does the zig zag like I do❤
Saw them in the late eighties. Funny thing, Guns n Roses opened for them back before they became big.
I saw that gig too
GNR opened up for them in Houston in 1987. Most people didn't know who they were and Guns and Roses had a bad night. I though they were the worst band I had ever seen. Six months later they were number 1 in the world. Who knew?
O melhor porra que época foda!!!
Wow, fantastic live version, thanks for the upload and the teen memories!
If I were trapped on a deserted island and could only have ONE song, this is my song!! This is so good as a real live performance on The Old Grey Whistle Test, because not all other performers stuck to the rules.
got me excited in college. couldnt get enough, they needed more
Best band ever

Thank you! Muito obrigado 🇧🇷
La banda que me marco de por vida, los amo !! vuelvan a Chile por favor
Superb, a timeless classic
Absolutely kicks ass
Jaime Stewart , what a badass bass player !
That's Rock N Roll kiddies.
The Epic years 85🎸🎼🎸 yeah
Great band, they play really well.
My favorite track from Electric! Great performance.
Great guitarist!
Loving your Cult videos!! Thanks again, The Archive!! S2
Glad you like them!
Pretty sure this was the same year they came to my town. Their OPENING act was Guns N’ Roses. I had just turned 16 and wanted to go so bad. Unfortunately: parents.
Instantly transported back to college.
actually sounds better than the studio version ☝🏻
Not difficult. Electric was a massive let down.
There is another album version, called Peace.
This absolutely kicks arse
Love love 💗
What a dynamic duo. They are almost too pretty to be real and their energy is staggering. They still sound amazing to this day.
Meravigliosi!
A KICK@$$ SONG Performed with Filthy Attitude!!! EFFING LOVE IT!!!! ❤️
Duca ! Essa é a banda!!🤟
Never seen this one. Wish I saw them right at this time in history. Ians voice is great.

Ottima esecuzione, più veloce !
Thats music !!
When I listen to the cult so does my neighbors.
Ha, love it! 🤘👊
The bass line is a monster.
Put this on blast and tear it off the frame.
Damn, tight for live, not far off from the recording.
Tight as Hell.
Weird. 119 views, and 186 likes. I've never seen such good rating!
Seen them in Adelaide couple weeks ago 40 th Anniversary epic show
Fucking awesomesauce right there folks!
