To me it was just too gangstery, I personally didnt like Scorsese's style. I compare it to another HBO period piece The Deuce, which I liked more becauese of the drama. I wanted more realistic drama in Vinyl rather than more action so to say.
Until Those kids from MIT created SoundScan in the early 90s based in bar code entries every unit pressed into vinyl or made Into a cassette that was shipped to a record store was Considered a sale Toward GOLD or Platinum status and the company didn’t Care if it sold at retail for $11 or from a 99cent milk crate Keep that in mind when considering Micheal Jackson’s billionth “sale” Janet Jackson and Garth Brooks too That’s why rap became popular since The labels couldn’t deny what was successful There was some manipulation of sales (Mariah Carey) as an example I remember making purchases at Strawberries 🍓 and the blond behind the register scanning a barcode that wasTaped to the counte 3 times but I was buying PE BDP and EricB & Rakim, I mentioned to her that I knew what it was all about , explained it to her and she was suprised
Such a nasty business. I know the film industry is bad but I’ve always thought the music industry was even worse. Jared Letos documentary on it was great. Granted he’s a weirdo but still.
Why did they drop this show ? It has everything interesting in it. I find it hard to believe people didn't watch enough like they say .
Jerry Setlerr the show was revealing too much about the dirty side about the music business.
@@noahkisosi that's exactly what I was thinking now , this show had everything going for it.

It was just way too expensive the show would have to have done extremely well 10 million to produce season 1
@@flinchey6962 Damn I thought me and that show we're gonna have a great relationship
Bobby Cannevale is just one good looking guy. His face expressions in this show is a trip.
Until

Keep that in mind when considering
Micheal Jackson’s billionth “sale” Janet Jackson and Garth Brooks too
That’s why rap became popular since
The labels couldn’t deny what was successful
There was some manipulation of sales (Mariah Carey)
as an example

Yes, also when artist started recording hit songs in their bedrooms it changed how labels had negotiate. That’s where 360 deals came in to play
What you've said is pretty interesting, can you give more details?
100% correct, but I've gotta note that Garth Brooks' mammoth sales were well into the Soundscan era
Ok, what is this episode of the series? Because the most interesting thing is how it ended. And it is so sad that TV series ended.
This was a great show. Too bad it was not picked up. You had to be around in the music scene of the 70s to understand it
Please, don't post krap here without an audible soundtrack. We have sort of left the silent film era already.
Lol

"Nobody knows hate like you" 😅
But your biggest hit make maker would have be the Led Zeppelins, no? GREATEST ROCK BAND EVER
It's even funnier because Zeppelin is a German name.
