    Hi guys, I got so many comments about a sash going over your shoulder that I wanted to post the definition from Wikipedia:
    A sash is a large and usually colorful ribbon or band of material worn around the human body, either draping from one shoulder to the opposing hip and back up, or else encircling the waist.
    I guess it can be used both ways!

    Nice time spent with stamps. You are right. Stamps take one on a learning journey. ... "Don't question it, that's art" 🤣 Thanks for the video, Kyle!

    Hi Kyle. A sash goes diagonally over your shoulder and across your chest. Best regards James in Scotland.

    Well, with Colnect working properly, I was also able to identify some Iran stamps like you did! Also, Syria, Hyderabad, Schleswig Plebiscite, Travancore and Crete British Post Office! I just had these stamps in a bag and now they are in my stock books!

    I have always loved the Albanian stamp with the shooting star. Unfortunately I do not have any so I will have to keep looking. For #30 & 31 if you look at the app picture the zig zag line around the edge is not consistent either. So having both thick and thin lines may be normal for the issue.The stamp at 30:55- The reason they did not put lines through the 2 is that the surcharge is from 2 Heller to 2 Qintar. Heller is an Austrian currency. I am not that familiar with the stamp but it might be some kind of occupation stamp. Hermes and Mercury are basically the same person but Hermes is Greek and Mercury is Roman. The Omani stamp at 41:57 is a Cinderella. Another one at 50:56. No real Omani stamps say State of Oman. We all make mistakes when beginners. Mine was that I bought a lot of country packets like "300 different stamps from Albania". The sets had all the low values but none of the high values. That did not bother me as I woukld look for the missing stamps and I bought a lot of these packets. It was not until I started going to stamp shows that I realized that nobody would have just the higher values so I had to buy all the sets again. Ugh! Some aquarium shops have seahorses. On top of the pole on the Paraguayan stamp at 1:04:20 is a Phrygian cap. During the French Revolution it was the symbol of freedom so a lot of French stamps have this cap on them, especially Marianne. During ancient times it was worn by freed slaves. Bhutan is cool! Not all semi-postals have the second value printed on them. On the Hungarian stamp Legiposta means airmail. I believe Magyarorszag means Peoples Republic of Hungary. The Bulgarian stamp you picked the wrong one. A sash is something one wears over the shoulder like the Boy Scouts to show their merit badges. Your stamp appears to have a sash but the picture you chose does not. I always love your videos. Phooey on mean people. Thanks for teaching me the correct pronunciation of Pho. I had seen it but was pronouncing it wrong,

    Hi there, Hermes is the Greek name and Mercury is the Roman name of the same god of the Greek pantheon. I always got confused with these names and at the end they refer to the same entity! Great video by the way.

    quest..who decides the size of perforations on stamps?

    • @KylesStamps
      @KylesStamps  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question, I don't know. I would assume it is the manufacturer based off of what paper type, size of the stamp etc. I will have to see if I can find out!

      @@KylesStamps Depends on the technical equipment. For example, the United States decided for a long, long time to use line perforation. And that´s the reason why older U.S. stamps which are well centered achieve much higher prices.

    The Roman Numeral overprint is not applicable to your # 104. It was only for the set of stamps by which it was shown.
