Interesting reading the comments. My take is that Jett’s usual tactic of winning in the slowest possible time has caught him out on this occasion. Not pulling out a greater gap has made it difficult to defend his lead by not getting back into his groove when he needed to. Tim won and won well on this occasion. Congratulations to him and congratulations to the Australian Team on their first win in four decades. One thing I will point out is the domination of Pro MX riders in the final results.
No, it wasn’t great. It was dirty and dangerous. It’s actually illegal because it’s not only dangerous, it unsportsmanlike. I like Gaijser, but that last pass on Lawrence was atrocious. That angle isn’t even block pass angle. That’s practically straight at you and if you don’t pull back, I’m barreling right into you. They will fine riders, and give a warning, like they did Barcia, in the AMA for those attack passes. Do it twice, you’re out for the season. If Jett hadn’t hit the brakes so hard, Tim would’ve straight up collided with him with his front tire leading. That’s ramming, not block-passing! Very dirty! Still, Tim has nothing to brag about.
