World’s best Iyangar Rasam Podi, Powder in Tamil English

- My mom Mrs. Sulochana of Chennai shows you How she makes the best Rasam Powder I have ever tasted. This is her secret recipe that I am sharing for everyone to get a Taste of Iyangar Samayal (cooking). Enjoy!
Ingredients and Steps for Rasam Podi:
MIX ALL THESE TOGETHER COLD and GRIND THEM IN A MIXER OR GRINDER. MOM SAYS DO NOT ROAST THEM!
3 Cup Black Peppercorns (250 g)
1 and 1/2 Cup Jeera (no grams available from Mom)
6 cup Dhania (500 g)
3 cup Toor Dal (500 g) - also known as Tuvar Dal in Hindi or Thuvaram Paruppu in Tamil
20-30 Dry Roasted Curry Leaves
1 Dried Turmeric
3 Cups of Dried Red Chillies (250 g) - remove the head
Mix all the above together in a Mixer or Grinder and grind them somewhat coarse. DO NOT ROAST THEM! DO NOT ADD OIL or SALT OR ANYTHING ELSE!
Just Grind it and enjoy it in your Rasam Making! - บันเทิง

Vanaliyil 1 spoon refined oil serthu dhaniya 3 cup toor dhal 1 cup manjal powder 2spoon red chillies 7 numbers seeragam varukkaamal matrum venthayam 1 spoon serthu mixie yil araithu vaithukondu rasam thayaritthaal veede manakkum. Mukkiyamaa katti perungayathil kadaisiyil milagu podi kariveppilai neiyil thaalithaal rombhave arumaiyaga irukkum. Nanrigal kodi ungalukku. VAZHGA VALAMUDAN. SAAPIDUGHA RASAMUDAN.

My mom always made Rasam podi to be stored for a few weeks. We also were a big family. So what you are seeing here is what you need for a big family 5+ and for more than a month. Hope this helps!
This is the best rasam powder recipe 👌.as when v roast the ingredients the fresh aroma changes completely and it feels like sambar rather than rasam.

Daily u should do dry grinding for daily usage . If you need better aroma or smell. Coffee fry and grind and also rasa podi daily grind will give . That is speciality of Iyengar speciality

Srartha thaligai konjum upload pannungo.Because during mahalaya baksham 17 days becoming difficult. In a month doing 5times shannavati tarpanam. Atleast some 5 varieties குழம்பு, ரசம், கூட்டு,karimedu...etc. please

One small doubt. Please confirm whether we have to dry all incredients in the sun light or we can dry roast . Pl clarify
You cannot dry roast. You can dry it in the sun. That’s what gives Amma’s Rasam Podi it’s distinctive flavor.

Pls post a video of same rasam powder with less quantity. For example 3 spoon dhaniya seeds, 2 spoon pepper corn,etc pls take small quantity of all the ingredients and post it
Sorry my mom didn’t know how to make in small quantities! That’s why we have posted it this way. You can store these podis for 6 months or so. Don’t worry. Thank you.
