My number 1 - taking the KOTR win from HHH and giving it to Austin. Changed the business and all because Vince wanted to punish someone - the most Vince-outcome ever!
Why does everyone say Austin didn’t have any submissions when he literally was using the million dollar dream as a finish just a few months earlier 🙄😒🤦🏾♂️
Well I’d say he probably meant that Austin had no submissions compared to Hart. In some way there was no way Austin was gonna submit Hart unless the bookers decided to do something extremely mad
Lots of comments absolutely right but my contribution - listening to Edge when he turned down beating Taker at Mania. It wasn't even *that* big a deal then but think of the mega implications that decision had for Mania & WWE's most unique character after that.
I'm glad you talked about the original inspiration for the nWo here instead of this just being the millionth video fellating the nWo as the greatest thing to ever happen in wrestling
Not Wrestling But Liam McGuiry Vs Emmanuel Newton In Bellator MMA he was the defending champion and McGuiry was the fast rising star with a hot undefeated streak It was going to go one way and I loved It alot
Tony Khan taking over the final creative decisions for AEW has been the absolute worst booking decision any wrestling company has ever made in the long term. If he grew tf up and stopped obsessing over WWE, I think they'd be better off.
It should be noted that most people want to see a major promotion succeed. It's just a lot of people don't think TK is the best person to run the ship. It feels like the more criticism TK gets, the more these wrestling media channels come to his defense or hype him up. It's like the media drooling over a crappy presidential candidate(s). They're not good, we know they're not good, but they want us to start acting like they are. It's the same with Meltzer. The more he is criticized, the more these channels push his opinions. At this point, I'm convinced these defenses are done to encourage hate watching as any engagement is good engagement.
@@DG_Raizen Or, get this, people have different taste than yours. Why do WWE-fans insist that their type wrestling show is the only right way to do it? Frankly, if AEW was like WWE, I wouldn't watch it. It's not perfect, but I'd much rather watch it than I would anything WWE.
They need Jericho and Raven booking the main event cards and hire Vince Russo for the mid and lower cards. I would love to see Raven being a head booker again. He hasn't booked matches since his WWF run in the early 90s when he was also a co producer of Raw.
Shawn should've been the third man and WCW vs WWF/WWe should still be going on today. Instead of nWo they would've been called The Kliq (like what Hunter and Shawn were calling themselves pre "degenerates" Bret Hart promo) and with Shawn's mic and ring skills the WWF would've been hit with a huge blow. Hogan being outnumbered by Scott, Kev, and Shawn would've forced things to work for him, brother.
Unrelated to the list really but can we talk about the fact that Hogan was 31 when he won that first WWF championship? Dude looked 60. his whole career, muscles aside.
This is why I kinda shake my head at Taker’s take that Vince didn’t intentionally hold anybody back during the Invasion angle. DDP got put in an absolute trash program that killed every bit of the shine he had in WCW. Booker T overcame his early booking to claim some traction, but it took a lot longer than it should have. Booking makes or breaks you. Hell, it’s the only reason Goldberg exists.
Honorable mentions should be Jon Moxley defeating Tetsuya Naito at Windy City Riot 2024 for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, despite some in the NJPW Locker Room disagreeing with the decision to make Jon Moxley the Champion, the shot caller for that decision was the original Ace of NJPW, the Eight-Time IWGP Champion and current President of NJPW, Hiroshi Tanahashi, he even stated that its a massive opportunity for NJPW with how big a star Jon Moxley is and whoever beats him for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship shall become a bigger star and get a brighter light shone on them. Also A.J. Styles winning his first match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Kazuchika Okada fully legitimized The Bullet Club as a proper threat to all weight classes in NJPW. Also Switchblade Jay White betraying Kazuchika Okada and Chaos to join The Bullet Club as its new leader.
Wrestling has existed for over 100 years, to say AEW having a terrible Dynamite then 2 weeks later having a good Dynamite is the 10th best booked thing that’s EVER happened is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen 😂😂
How about a list of booking decisions that seemed absurd at first but ended up being the right call in the long run? That sounds like an interesting premise! An example would be having Cody Rhodes lose at Wrestlemania 39!
Ranking Shane Douglas' belt toss ahead of Hogan's heel turn, and praising Tony Khan becoming sole booker when it's blatantly obvious that he's terrible at it.......just smh.
I hate the phrase "Say what you want about WCW". WCW from 96-99 was the only good place to watch wrestling. Everything the Fed did was a response to either them or ECW. The company got complacent just like the last 20 years of WWE and we're sold rightly for it, but they were great while it lasted
#7 3:51 The moment when 5 or 6 year old me, already watching wrestling for quite literally as long as i could create memories, knowingly cemented his wee self as a Hogan HATER, all time... but then subconsciously became a damn near ONLY STRICTLY HEEL fan... He beat my then favorite, the Iron Sheik and i got so mad... i can safely and honestly say, 80s kid/wrestling fan, never spent one day as a Hulkamaniac or even fan... didnt mind AS MUCH with nWo... but yeah, fcuk a Hulk Hogan!!!
I love Simon but Hogan's heel turn was number 9!? We're talkiy6ng about booking that changed the industry or had a huge impact. Hogan turning heel was o6ne of the if not the biggest things in the history of pro wrestling that changed the business
It's okay to want to be positive. But positivity doesn't change the fact that AEW isn't great like delusional fans like to tell everyone. Until Tony and fans get that, things won't change.

@@WristFreeze97 so you think that mention was better than The Rock turning heel again this year? Burying the hatchet with CM Punk and letting him come back and feud with Seth and Drew? Letting AJ Styles be the inheritor of Bullet Club after Prince Devitt? Turning Roman finally heel? Mankind winning the world title in 99, that pop stone cold got

Allowing Scott Steiner to cut that promo had to be the best decision TNA ever made.
I literally would have watched every week if they started a “Moment with Steiner” segment where they just let him say any words that came to his head.
Andre the giant heel turn has to be #1 look at the numbers from the network prime time event
