'Metal Gear Solid 4' Steam Deck - Rpcs3 Settings & Gameplay - 720p/60Hz

Does what it says on the tin!
There are no bios tweaks, driver tweaks or otherwise used for this video.
The only compromise we're making is reduced stage quality,
all other effects are intact!
Audio is 90% there, the odd codec and explosion sounds go missing when things get hectic (par for the course with rpcs3 and lower powered cpu's, need to be hitting at least 4.2ghz to fix sound issues), but still a huge improvement and definitely an enjoyable experience, unlike my previous attempts.
Note - Framerate drops are native to the PS3 hardware with MGS4
For reference, here's 'Digital Foundry's' original Framerate analysis on PS3

You'll need the game rom (from the game you legitimately own a physical copy of.... 🧐) and the 2.0 game update.
You need to get these yourself, NO I won't help you find illegal Copies of game files So DONT ASK!
You'll also need the Canary patches for this to work from the Rpcs3 MGS4 WiKi.
* Copy ALL the text in the Canary section of this page,
create a new text document using 'Notepad Plus Next' ('Discover Store' in desktop mode).
*Follow instructions on wiki page to edit and save your text document with the correct version number at the top of the text.
*Save the text document as
'imported_patch.yml"
'All file types'
(if these steps aren't followed to the letter, this won't work)
*Drop the 'imported_patch.yml' file in your 'Patches' folder within Rpcs3.
(if you dont know where that is,
right click on a title in Rpcs3 and go to 'open custom profile location',
go 1 folder back in the file path and you should see it there.)

It runs just as poorly as the PS3 original. Honestly an incredible display on the steam decks part, especially once you take into account you can get a refurbished model for

My sentiments exactly, this is on an older LCD 256gb model so seen some use 😂
But yeah, it pretty much sits in line with the PS3 (give or take a few fps here and there).
Like you say, for the price now it's a steal 👌🏻
There's actually a Digital Foundry video that has a Framerate graph on some of these scenes from the PS3 so a good comparison,
SD isn't quite there yet but not far off

It is indeed, if you're not bothered about full audio and use 4 spurs, the framerate is now pretty impressive with stock clocks tbf.
Steam deck will always be massively underpowered for it unfortunately, so I'll take what I can get currently 😅
