The newer versions of DREAM.3D have a filter that will export a correct ODF input file from a give set of Euler Angles. The filter is called "Export StatsGenerator ODF Angle File". Ideally you would import your EBSD data (.ang or .ctf), clean up the data, mark voxels that are not indexed (CTF: Error != 0, ANG=Confidence Index < 0.1), then export the ODF Angle file.

@Leoving LEE Within DREAM.3D, load up the Bookmarks->Prebuilt Pipelines->Examples->INL Export pipeline. once that loads in a new window, go to the "Filter List" and search for ODF. The only filter that shows up is the "Export StatsGenerator ODF Angle File". Drag that to the bottom of the pipeline. Fill in the required filter parameters and run the filter. That should show how you can incorporate that filter into your DREAM.3D and PRISMS workflow.

After importing the Ang file how can I extract grain size and distribution?

Thank you very much for your tutorial, I also want to know how to use dream 3d to convert 2D ebsd data (.ctf file) into three-dimensional?

Have you found any way to achieve this transformation? I encountered the same problem, contact me: 419278981@qq.com

Do you now know how to use dream 3d to convert 2D ebsd data (.ctf file) into three-dimensional?

Hi, is there anyone who knows how to obtain the EBSD file presented in 2:22 of this video?

You can get the files from here:

Hi, thanks for the tutorial. Why we don't need to change the grain size distribution? Would the generated microstructure be identical (including grain size, and grain shape) with the ebsd data?

Thanks for the tutorial video! Except for the ODF file, I also want to input the MDF data measured by ebsd. Do you know the required format for the MDF input file?

@@mjaykr Thanks! I had the MDF data exported directly from the EBSD analysis software and imported it to Dream3D, whilst the generated distiribution demonstrated significant deviation from EBSD results.

Hi, is there anyone know to model the deformation of a pure Ti with PRISMS? The c/a of Ti and Mg is different but I didn't find it defined in the .prm file of Mg provided in the hcp folder
