- Hawaii and Mississippi State's first round matchup in the 2021 NCAA women's volleyball tournament came down to the wire, with the Rainbow Wahine ultimately coming out ahead in the 5th set. Watch the thrilling final set here.

the mainland who all probably had offers to go elsewhere but chose to stick it out in this pandemic craziness.
Van Sickle has been the rock, the glue that held this team together, intangible beyond stats.
Passing the torch to Igiede, Wagoner, Lang and the rest this will be a season that sparks a new era of Wahine volleyball. Go Bows!!

The NCAA moderators thought Mississippi St gonna dominate Hawaii but oh boy, they were wrong.
They always underestimate Hawai'i. In 2019, when Hawai'i was ranked #12 in the tournament, they said Hawai'i would be out in the first 2 round yet they fought hard and made it to regional. This year, they also said Hawai'i would lose to Mississippi State, yet they win again.
@@username15yearsago52 idk why NCAA always snubbed the Wahines. Mississippi St is ranked 23rd and yet fallen into a non ranked team. That shows how NCAA is so corrupt.
i guess they go by numbers idk. all i know hawaii most of the time upsets
@@forme3h It stupid because they have so much tradition and they should no better, by the way I think the lost to Gauchos was good for them they're are up coming team as well, we have or 6/7 teams in the Big West to watch out for in the next couple years very young and talented teams on the rise including Hawaii. She really is. She celebrates every point. She is vocal and just full of positive energy to cheer up her team.
Hawai’i needs to set their right side Leoniak more. It primarily outside or in front of the setter so it is getting predictable. Outside hitter are not tall so it is difficult for them to face 2 block all the time. So setting the right side more will help open up the block and outsides can take advantage of late arriving middle blocker. Regardless, great match. Both really great team. Most competitive, most fun first round of all of NCAA

wasn't playing that well in the beginning season..

@@alexepic9993 I followed Hawai'i all season long. Leoniak can hit hard. Better than Westerberg in my opinion.

@@alexepic9993 Agree. Leoniak has potential. She reminds me of Nikki. Buy Westerberg played well. I am just hoping Lang set the right side more so it can open up the offense especially tomorrow against Washington.
