I've been watching you on TH-cam whenever I have trouble sleeping because of how relaxing your casting is, and you've been a real blessing these past days as I've been stuck in bed tired and sick after getting COVID. Thank you!
@@captainsunshine64 Thanks! I've recovered quite well after 5 days in bed, only my voice that's still gone. Must be how T90 feels after casting tournaments.
Ngl based on the title I kept expecting blue to do something that would lose them the game close to the end. One time I was playing a ranked 1v1 and the other person had pretty much won the game. I pressed enter to type gg before resigning, but before I could type they disconnected from the game. Probably the last time I'll win a game at that elo for a while lol.
Love some LEL after work! I am still working on getting my ELO down, 5 fights in. I will do another two or 3 battles tomorrow. Eventually I will find my LEL people. Sticking with Teutons because those knights look cool. No other reason lol
T90, here's the thing: People at this level are REGULAR PEOPLE. They don't WANT to think just on the secrets of the game, and use hotkeys. We just want to play the game
I still think it's not understood well by low ELO players that the straggler trees can be built over once chopped. I think most of them think they need to be completely collected from before they can place buildings, so it makes sense to them to chop all of them all the time.
They click them on one tree so that they're working, but then forget about them. These vills then wander off to separate trees. By the time you notice, it's too late. See how they all went to tge back woods after, though? This is the right map for it.
something funny. I started playign AoE2 before even conquerors was out. And of course, I had no idea what I was doing. So I would refuse to leave dark age until I had 8 villagers on food, five on wood, five on gold and five on stone. I eventually figured out the problem.
Don't units have a damage bonus when firing from a higher elevation in AoE2? I feel like Red could have trebbed down Blue's castle from high ground within his walls in his base.
Can anyone explain to me the etiquette behind laming in this game? I don't play AoE2, but I get the strong impression from T90 and chat's comments that it's considered rude/dishonorable at best, and downright unsportsmanlike at worst. I'm usually a very honorable player in these types of games, but I feel like I would lame every time. Denying your opponent precious resources at a critical early juncture to disrupt their plans and timing just seems like War 101, and doesn't "feel" dishonorable to me. Can any explain?
Laming is sometimes banned in AoE2 tournaments, but in general it's just part of the game. TLDR it's difficult to do in a way that doesn't also hurt yourself unless you're an exceptionally good player. Laming sheep is easy, but by the time you find your opponent's base there may not be many left and if you do kill them then your scout will almost certainly be killed by your opponent's town center. Laming hunt is easy, but in most games your opponent can do just fine without collecting these animals (collecting sheep + boar(s) in dark age, then start farming in feudal). Laming a boar/elephant/rhino is the most difficult, because your scout can't kill them and you have to attack them to get them to follow your scout away from the other player's base. Your scout also runs faster than these animals, so you constantly have to click your scout away from the animal and then to the side to give the animal a chance to catch up. If at any point your scout gets too far away from the animal and it loses sight of your scout, the animal will automatically start traveling back to its original spawn point on the map.
Laming isn’t absolutely taboo, but it does seem as though doing so does invite some bad karma. Like, you might give yourself a massive early advantage, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that something terrible will inevitably go wrong or that you’ll somehow massively throw the game. It’s annoying to be lamed and is super frustrating, but it’s not really something you can just rage quit over. One of the top pros in the world, MBL, is widely known as a lamer.
People find it frustrating, so they complain about it. Often times people want to execute their chosen build order and fight big battles. That’s why Black Forest and Amazon Tunnel type maps are popular. It is banned in some competitions, I think this is to stop the games being won ‘because of laming’ alone. Since some people think it’s that powerful, it just wins you the game outright. See Nili’s thoughts on it. For standard RM games, just go for it. You’ll get some hate from frustrated people, but you’ll get hate from people saying you’re rushing or for castle dropping or anything really
@@RobotShield "Often times people want to execute their chosen build order and fight big battles. " Exactly! That's what I want to stop them from doing. If I'm playing any ELO system, I'm going for the win, and not letting the other guy execute helps that goal. Bonus if he's frustrated too, not because i like to frustrate people, but because it likely would also help me win. But thanks for the rest. Gamers will whine about almost any strategy that you successfully use against them, so that's just to be expected. But if laming is really is that decisive at high elo, I can understand why people might be upset. But yeah in that case just ban it I guess.
@@krugerstan yeah. Personally I don’t think it’s a game winning move by itself, they’re are too many factors. One point someone raised was that mbl the master boar lamer himself doesn’t lame board in tournaments because it’s too risky. Still, I don’t have the data on No. Times lamed vs No. Times won.
is it a good idea to do something like a Douche but with Cumans and in Feudal age? like, dont necessarily take their TC head on, just put it near their base?
I didnt click buildings when i was attacking another player and what happened was that a villager showed up and lured my units to the TC where they got shot to death. I think if you arent gonna use your units to kill other units you should just move them away from the other player's field of view.
Defensive stance is great for that. It will save your units from being lured to their TC, with the downside being that left alone, your units will not chase down weak enemies, letting them escape.

If there are straggler trees in front of the tc then they can block the view if there is no small tree mod.
I could definitely see that a huge motivation to get them completely gone so that farms can be built.
