Should have gone from back to front instead. The suitcases in the back reduces the volume, allows expansion and cooling. The resonator lowers the tone and reduces whistling and popping. If you leave the resonator but delete the mufflers you end up with a louder, deep tone. Thats why all the aftermarket catbacks have a big resonator and a single, small, high-flow muffler.
@@IWinYouQuitxdelete the one closest to the exhaust tip, will make it sound deeper, and louder. The best option is to replace that one with a tube that bends over to the hanger on the passenger side then all the way back to the exhaust pipe. Longer tubes equal lower tone, and eliminating the baffled muffler will increase volume. If you remove the other two, you just end up with a annoying rattle ricey sounding exhaust that is still quiet. Keep the resonators, delete the muffler. If you buy a aftermarket catbacks, that's how they are designed. Check out some pics of some of em and you will see. This guy did it backwards and it ended up sounding like crap.
LEGIT did the same muffler delete on my Mk5 Jetta 2.5 and threw Raceland coils on it all in the same afternoon! Longest ship day ever so far but well worth it, the VR6ish sound is toooo dope, not obnoxious just a perfect tone 🤙🏾😄
I did the resonator and rear suitcase delete on my 2.5 Rabbit. Left the mid muffler. Sounded awesome. I have the same spec Jetta now, and I’m about to do it again
It actually save you gaz.. If you take off your catalic you get better mpg since it make the engine breathe better but you also need a cold air ou short ram air so there's more air coming in and more going out, I've always done that to my cars, I have the same car in the vid and make more then 830 km per full tank
Yeah, this guy did it backwards. Start with the big suitcase muffler at the far back. That will make it louder but still a deep tone. The resonator helps eliminate that raspy, ricer sound. If you delete that first, it will still be quiet but a higher pitch. Leave the resonator on and delete the suitcase.
Hey man! I have the EXACT same spec car. Just wondering, along with the basically perfect exhaust note, do you know how to connect your phone to bluetooth and play music?
Christian Smith I drive a stock 2010 SEL. I share it with my sister and I really want to modify it, but I just don’t have the balls to do it. Also my dad would probably be mad lol. But I hate pulling up to cars and coffee and parking in the visitor lot while all of my friends park in the actual show :/
how is that possible, i'm not sure how the underside of a jetta looks but on my rabbit the exhaust pipe comes straight down then about at the rear wheels it turns opposite the gas tank and then straight out from under straight back
Zachary Tyhacz It becasue right where we cut the mufflers was right beside the gas tank and we didnt think about that happening at all we left it cut how it was, didnt get a straight pipe or nothing welded on and from so much heat coming out the the exhaust cause the gas tanks heat shiel to get extremely hot and melted a fat whole in the side of the tank
i put 4 holes pretty small in my muffler and it just idles and sounds nice but driving it has no sound still. any suggestions? not trying to cut my muffler off haha. i have a 2013 jetta 2.5L se
badrillex i cut it off. made no sound difference and in pa you need at least one muffler so i’m not taking the other one off. i’m getting a cherry bomb and sticking it on
i removed both mufflers off my 2.5, keeping resonator and cat - it sounds amazing, specially 3000+ rpms. it pops and crackles, though more often when engine is off a cold start and getting up to operating temp.
RyanXTV Where cut it off we just left it as is instead adding a pipe and where it was cut off was directly beside the gas tanks beside the heat shield and from so heat coming out of the exhaust made the heat shield super hot and from so much heat radiating off the shield it melted a hole in the side of the gas tank over time the hole was the size of a base ball drove it like that for almost 2 months before getting it fixed cause cutting off the muffler and res we didnt expect that to happen😂
You should have taken the muffler off as well it would've been perfect, I did it on my mk6 2.5 and it sounds amazing except st low speeds its annoying and droney
@@jman1239 yea just left the cat on but deleted everything else and kept a semi looking muffler pipe thing its not an actual muffler just looks like it when its installed

What about only a mid muffler delete? Would that be deeper and louder but not ricey?
Res delete sounds better on these vws tbh

Did you do a vr6swap?
You should’ve cut the muffler and mid resonator and add a p flow intake it really brings the the sound to a true sport sound
Christian - thank you for the inspiration. Now I have to explain to my fiancé why my car sounds so different. 😂😂😂
I did the resonator and rear suitcase delete on my 2.5 Rabbit. Left the mid muffler. Sounded awesome. I have the same spec Jetta now, and I’m about to do it again
Any drone?
Sounds like a raspy honda civic lmao
ALL YOU NEED NOW IS A MAGNA FLOW EXHAUST WITH REMUS TIPS BOYYYYYY
Khalifa Lumpkin hahaha one day!
Magnaflow isn't very loud on these
I want loud af... But quality, I live in a trailer park, and leave at early too. So this is perfect mix.
My Jetta has both mufflers and the resonator deleted. I love the sound yours has💯
Does it drone when you're on the highway ??
@@ZAK2022MMG it did going over 70 when I still had it lmao. Best sounding thing ever
If you want more pops delete the last muffler it will be so so loud and sick

Oh okay..did it make any perfomance difference?
Benko DiєsєLTM most likely not bruh lmao. Maybe 2hp
I work right across the street from there. Ayyyyy!!!!!
Josh hit VTEG really?? That’s crazy lol small world

What was the cost of the two parts you added ? The not so straight pipes if you will....
Any negatives like mpg or new codes ?
my brother went there for a resonator and muffler delete and his car sounds awesome
mines done now and sounds amazing aswell, awesome tip
I don't know if you still have this car. But I got a 2013 2.5 and I want to know if you had put anything on it to get power gain?
Tahomus you can’t really do much. New exhaust system and CAI add only like ~10hp. I have the exact same car as urs

Lol do it it's much better looking
Nice tip lol! It does look better😆👍
i took both mufflers and the resonator off it sounds 10x better trust me :D
But does it drone
Dylan Artner lol yes a lot.

Hows the transmission holding..?i used to have one liked it loud as hell too...went for an 06 accord...more hp
I did a res delete and straight piped my 2.5L 09 Jetta and threw a MagnaFlow muffler and burnt tips to make it stick out
