This version of the deck can be build around chapter 10 or so. but you can build early version in chapter 6 at earliest once you get Tonberry King, Replace Skeeskee, Amalgam, J-Squad, & Gi Specter with Midgardsormr, Bloatfloat, Sandhog Pie, Archdragon, etc. Not gonna give you as much point, but it has more counterplay, and it's definitely enough to win against every opponents at that point. Also I have yet to collect every cards, and I think I can make it better eventually Edit: Now that I collect more cards, I replace Gi Specter with Gi Nattak to double my Tonberry power by giving it to 2 chickens. Now my new record is 163 points
You can actually play essentially the same deck as soon as Crow's Nest near Junon, so Chapter 4½ish. The trick is Shiva. There's really no reason not to run her with Mindflayer until you get the J-Squad upgrade. Shiva's effect replaces all of your 3 pawn spaces with 6 power summons. Mindflayer makes it possible to get all but 1 of your many empty spaces to 3 pawns - that one space is where you play Capparwire to kill Mindflayer, then Shiva. (Although J-Squad resets them all back to 1.) Here's the deck: 2 Mindflayer 1 Capparwire 1 Shiva 1 Midgardsomr 2 Ignilisk 2 Security Officer 2 Crystalline Crab 2 Mandragora 1 Cactuar 1 Mu (yes, really) Mulligan hard for Mindflayer (I wouldn't even keep Midgardsomr without it). Turn 1 Crab or Officer, bottom. Turn 2 Mindflayer middle, on the first row. Starting on 3rd turn for a little while it's about board control and never playing anything unless our Mindflayer kills it, except Midgardsomr 2nd middle. If you get a chance set up Mu at 2nd bottom, to take 3rd middle, by playing at 1st bottom first. You want to save some specific cards for endgame, which we'll discuss next. Once you have board control, use Mandragora, its Minions and/or Cactuar to get Midgardsomr up first. Then Mu to get 3 pawns on 3rd middle. Then 2 Crabs and/or Officers to get 3 pawns on 1st bottom and 3rd bottom. Then the Ignilisks to get 3 pawns on 2nd bottom and 3rd top. Then play 1 of anything at 1st top to get 2 pawns on 2nd top. Second to last, play Capparwire on 1st top, then Shiva at 1st middle. This will generally net a score of 15, 18 and over 20 in your lanes, but if you're in a hurry you can always just play Shiva sooner.
Ironically, 118, in Italy, also happens to be the emergency number to call when in urgent need of an ambulance which, clearly, your opponent REALLY needed by the end of that fucking beatdown.

Chocobo Jockey Deck is a better Deck. Its way less time consuming and consistent. If you have more control over the board you`ll win almost any match, so this strat is basically overkill and inconstistent at that. Just get Maloceros, Jockey, Tifa and Gi Nattak, put some low cost cards for easy control and focus on buffing one lane. Almost 100% win rate and works much better in the Gold Saucer challenges
This build really is absolutely ridiculous. I was so long is building a deck with all the options but this just works. It’s simple. It’s easy to understand. It’s effective. Thank you.
It actually is pretty balanced... in theory. In hypothetical practice, this deck could be countered by a card destruction deck (Dyne, Barrett, Sephiroth etc.), but that's almost immaterial since the AI will never have it, much less actually use it lol.
If you managed to get Gi Natack in that hand somewhere you could sacrafice Tonberry at the end and double that score by transferring it to your guys in both the top and bottom row for your last move.
I am using a card that buffs itself everytime when I buff another of my cards and at last move I always use Gi Natack for the exact reason, but my deck is having worse win rate from the deck this guy shows. My issue is that if I don't get specific cards in the first 3 turns, I restart, while this one have quite bigger chances to work out, especially with the amount of level 1 cards in it.
@@Grebenysacrifice decks built right never lose. I beat the Shadowblood Queen first try with one I thought up myself just by having Tonberry King and Midgardsormr win 1 lane

I played Navalan as soon as I hit Level 5 and humiliated him! I know he's not that strong, but I felt some type of way when I first got to Corel and couldn't play him because I wasn't leveled high enough. I didn't have a crazy high score, but I totally stole pawn spots from him and destroyed like 2 cards at least. I think I scored 35 to 0. Left with him 0 points in lane 1, like 3 in lane 2, and 5 points in lane 3. Started looking for "Warlock" equivalent deck today/yesterday and learning of what cards I need to get, and within my Google search, led me here. Now I know which cards I need in my deck for same or similar results, thanks!
Shadowblood Queen is easily beaten with a couple Chimeras and Rictuses. Just play Chimeras and Rictuses on top and bottom lanes, and watch the points skyrocket.
Awesome strat. I've got a deck right now (I'm still at the beginning of CH9) that uses power up cards for everything, and it is pretty effective, but relies on getting the right cards at the right time. I was thinking of building a sacrificial deck like this though, so this is a good base for me. I can't get a few of those cards yet, but I'm going to start building something like this I think
This is sorta what I've been doing as well. No lie. The only difference was that I had the Midgardsormr, didn't have penguins, nor did I have Johnny. Everything else was pretty much my deck.
Been winging Queen's blood the entire game and just tried this deck out. I didn't get 100+ points but I got 81 which is my highest ever compared to my 20 something. This was so fun to use!
Took me a few tries, but I defeated the final boss with this set-up. I replaced Gi Specter with Gi Nattak for my deck, which allowed me to transfer the Tonberry's points to the two Skeeskees at the end. Won with 134 points.
I am on Chapter 8 and have been looking intensely at cards that buff on destroying other cards in this way - it's like you have found the combo that I had almost figured out. I built a deck around card that buff when yours buff, like Space Ranger, in that it buffs when another card buffs, so as your Tonberry King goes up, so does Space Ranger ... I think. Will try tonight 🤣
I was just able to get 146 with a poor start. The only thing I tweaked is adding in the Gi Nattak card and saving it for the very end and replacing the left Tonberry with it. Gi Nattak adds the value of the card it replaces TO the cards above and below it, so it's kinda like getting another free tonberry.
i created a similar deck in my attempts to get that nightmare entry in gold saucer, i used cid and cait sith since they also produce cards and have more flexibility, but also i had a gi nattak to possibly double one of my tonberries
Great deck! I haven’t gotten the chickens and second mindflayer yet, just reached coral prison. Once I get them and Johnny I will try it !! Make more card videos (:
Highest I got before I start looking at any strat guides is 74. This is my first one only cus it’s from Trueblade but Queen’s Blood has a good charm to it
When I saw on livestreams that this game had a card game, my first thought was, “Oh god it’s Gwent all over again” I know I’m going to get dragged into it when Rebirth comes on PC
i still enjoyed triple triad more from ff8, because it was full circle. you fed your cards with monsters you turned in combat, and then you could turn cards into incredibly usefull stuff that would enhance your party to do better in combat. its probably the best implementation of a minigame in any game. because it was simple and easy to understand, but would also allow for you to completely break the game if you knew what to do.
Glad i wasn't the only one loving tonberry king sacrificial decks. Also enfeeblement decks go hard with the jackolantern cards. I don't know why some want a versus mode though given how broken and cheap some cards get cough party animal cough. Versin other humans won't be as fun as many think it will be. My main deck is one with bahamut arisen because why not. i feel with party animal and the enfeeble jackolanter guys instead of the chickens you could get even higher numbers for your win.
With some tweak, balancing, & remove some cards. I think it could work as competitive game. Party animal depend of opponent's points, and I don't think not having scale on death cut in 1 role would make me win that row to get the point. Also isn't jackolanter scale on the Enfeeble card on board, not death card? once enfeeable card is gone, jackolanter power decrease
I absolutely love this deck! I used it against Red XIII in the rematch and managed to get up to 126 AND it would have been higher if I didnt do a misplay when I played my last card!
I play something like this with the midgard Zolom card, since I really like that monster and he also gets points for enemy card destruction which I like.
Is 2nd Mindflayer needed? If not, could replace it with Gi Nattak and duplicate the strongest center tonberry to the top and bottom lane. You could also replace the Gi Specter. EDIT: Tested out swapping Specter for Nattak and it gets over 160 points. It's so good, it can win the final QB challenge using only the 5th round.
Deck was really fun, I slaughtered the Shadow Queen with it first try. All the cheep minions made keeping the second column mine easy, no risk of losing my first column to her advance. Mindflayer is needed for most any game, but not for the Shadow Queen. If anyone wants to beat the shadow queen with more points, these guys are not needed in the deck. Her monsters will do all the killing for you. I'd replace one with Gi Nattak. Using his ability to replace your Tonberry at the end of the match will drastically increase both your Skeeskee's power.
Pretty much as soon as I got the Trading Places premade, I never lost again. sure you wont have massive 100-0 victories. Even my Blood Queen match was 20-19 (first try though) its sitll a awesome deck to use.
I used a modified version of the most similar prebuild (the one with Tonberry King and Midgardsormar) to coast through all the Queen’s Blood matches in the back half, all I have left are the survival challenges at the Gold Saucer. Those are super luck based and frustrating
These challenges are easy. Stop looking up guides and build your own deck. It will be more fun AND you'll get results based on YOUR way of playing, not something optimized for someone else's way of playing.
This deck has been lethal and I've had many late runs to the finish line with punishing results, especially if I can limit the amount of space they can place cards on.
I respect a deck that can damage your own allies just to get more field presence cuz that's ultimately what it is. By increasing the number of cards in your deck via card effects, you outlast your opponent if you quickly swarm the field and/or steal back positions so they're stuck at having only 2 columns at most, while you buff or build up your side, this deck is the epitome of buffing the right way by 1) blocking your enemy, 2) maximizing your field presence by stealing as many positions as possible, 3) buffing your own field cards by whatever method you can think of. The highest I usually get is anywhere from 50 to 80+ probably.
"Ahh, fuck this card minigame I do not want to play it" 2 hours of gameplay later: "I love you Chocobo and Moogle card, you are like the Dark Magician of my Yugi Muto"
The card puzzles at Costa Costa del sol activated my almonds and I basically made a version of this deck as soon as I got tonberry. Still don't have access to a couple of the cards used here (in ch9) but it's basically been steamrolling everyone I see.

This is the deck I came to form too, though I didn't think of using Johnny. This demolishes pretty much every opponent
Gi Nattak is probably the most broken card
i created a similar deck in my attempts to get that nightmare entry in gold saucer, i used cid and cait sith since they also produce cards and have more flexibility, but also i had a gi nattak to possibly double one of my tonberries
I gotta try this out!
Thanks for sharing. I was able to complete the most of the matches with my own build, but unfortunately, the last QB boss became a wall for me.
I read elsewhere for a chimera deck build. This one seems simpler to pull off
I was looking up guides on QB and randomly came across this deck. This deck is OP af I pretty much dominated the shadow queen with this deck 🤣
Never has there been a more accurate statement than "we are playing yugioh now"
I accidentally found this out with the tonberry but I didn't realise there was another unit that could also do this. NOW THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE
And i was super impressed with myself to score 40 points...yeesh
Thank you , it helped me so much , I hate those mini games
Great deck!
I haven’t gotten the chickens and second mindflayer yet, just reached coral prison. Once I get them and Johnny I will try it !! Make more card videos (:
Leon, is that you?
Why Leon? Lol
Highest I got before I start looking at any strat guides is 74. This is my first one only cus it’s from Trueblade but Queen’s Blood has a good charm to it
My record before this video is 42-0
Holy crap this is game changing.
Keep in mind this is way overkill though and very hit or miss.
Thank you. I defeated the Shadowblood Queen with this deck 👍
I have been playing this deck and my highest so far is 125. Thank you for this absolute monstrosity!
thanks for the guide
Thanks so much this helped me and my dad beat the last person don’t want to say the name for spoilers and all the gold saucer things
“And I took that personally” -Cloud
"Stop! Stop! He's already dead!" *Sobs*
Lmao, i was playing Gold Saucer's Queen's blood and went for tips in order to beat the last 3 challenge and i just see this video
Did it work?
I’ve been stuck on nightmare
@@SaucedUpStinkyGrandpa Well i beat the first (not with trueblade's deck) but not the 2 last
@@SuperMophie haven’t tried it yet
Indeed the best! Now do “Back to the wall” recommended deck please!
Saving this for later
This makes me think it’s a Bakura deck 🤣. Awesome video and deck strategy!
Parabéns pra vocês que gostaram desse jogo de cartas.
I knew a broken deck build will eventually pop out. Thanks and Thanks TH-cam algorithm.
Really cool deck!
When I saw on livestreams that this game had a card game, my first thought was, “Oh god it’s Gwent all over again”
I know I’m going to get dragged into it when Rebirth comes on PC
i still enjoyed triple triad more from ff8, because it was full circle. you fed your cards with monsters you turned in combat, and then you could turn cards into incredibly usefull stuff that would enhance your party to do better in combat.
its probably the best implementation of a minigame in any game. because it was simple and easy to understand, but would also allow for you to completely break the game if you knew what to do.
@@marcosdheleno I only know of FFXIV’s version of Triple Triad but I’ve heard great things about the FF8 version which is the OG
This deck is hilarious thanks
Found my deck. Thank you sir.
I don't have the game but man, that music is AWESOME! Do you know what the track is called?
Nice deck, but is it enough for Sora's Blue eyes white dragon?
Is 2nd Mindflayer needed? If not, could replace it with Gi Nattak and duplicate the strongest center tonberry to the top and bottom lane. You could also replace the Gi Specter.
EDIT: Tested out swapping Specter for Nattak and it gets over 160 points. It's so good, it can win the final QB challenge using only the 5th round.
Ok I believe you’ll post FFXVI pt.2 in a nutshell soon
Enfeeblement decks built around Chimaera, Rictus & Ultimate Party Animal are capable of scoring as much or more.
Is this good against Boot Camp? To get the Sephiroth card
"Ahh, fuck this card minigame I do not want to play it"
2 hours of gameplay later: "I love you Chocobo and Moogle card, you are like the Dark Magician of my Yugi Muto"
Crazy, I'm half way there. I was thinking of some nefarious acts when it comes to card destruction
The card puzzles at Costa Costa del sol activated my almonds and I basically made a version of this deck as soon as I got tonberry. Still don't have access to a couple of the cards used here (in ch9) but it's basically been steamrolling everyone I see.
