After our mesmerizing journey to Sanglaphu Cho Lake, we returned to our serene stay in Yumthang Valley, where we embraced the local culture by joining the villagers for a mushroom-hunting expedition. As the mushroom season began, we gathered fresh mushrooms and discovered the trout and rainbow trout in the Lachung River. The hills were alive with the promise of fresh strawberries, soon to bear fruit. Our evening was filled with the taste of local snacks, followed by a delightful dinner of freshly cooked mushrooms. A peaceful evening walk in the valley, accompanied by the sound of birds, clouds kissing the hills, and the gentle murmur of the river, felt like a dream. The next morning, we woke up to an unforgettable view of the snow-capped mountain range under a clear blue sky. Before heading back to Gangtok, we visited Point Lake, enjoyed the rejuvenating hot springs, and witnessed the challenging yet beautiful terrain of North Sikkim amidst rain and landslides.
