"Because no one else will" is the best line in the series to me. It perfectly encapsulates everything Connor's story is about, having literally everyone having betrayed or lost trust in him, being abandoned by everyone who can help. Achilles and the Assassins of America have been utterly destroyed by the Templars decades ago, his village thinks he's betrayed them, the revolutionaries showing their true colors: not giving a care about Connor and his people unless it fits their needs. He is the only person willing and capable to fight for his cause, persevering through the thick and thin when he could have given up and lived a quiet, peaceful life at his homestead. Man, Connor's life fucking sucked.
This game makes me so sad, Haytham Kenway is a Templar, but he seems so likable for most of his scenes, and I liked seeing Haytham have nice moments with his son, and I hate how their story ends; Haytham and Connor, connected by blood, divided by belief

god i love this story. i love just how much it avoids from taking a pure black-white story theme. that it harkens heavily on the fact that the templars arnt the bad guys for their goals, but their methods. that its not all good vs evil, but a lot of shades of grey, with few specks of White Light. every character, good or bad has flaws and their reasons, their beliefs. just look at the interactions between Connor and his father. or with Achilies. the conversations about the revolution, it's origin's its people, the sides, the events. some are straight forward and others are grey i mean this isnt untrue about the other games before, but i truly love how they present these themes here

You and me might be in the minority for thinking its a great game. I think a lot of people didn't like it because it was the end of Desmond and most don't wont to say that. I actually really liked Connor. Yeah a bit wooden but he got to build a community around him which none of the others ever did. There's a great little conversation between him and Dobby Carter late in the game. I read somewhere that the heritage to Desmond was via another girl but Dobby could have been an interesting story. What I really like about AC3 are the conversations between Connor and Hatham which if you listen are almost identical to a conversation that could happen in America today (or a few other countries). I saw a talk the other day on YT by John Mearsheimer that sounded like it was coming straight from Hatham. Whoever wrote that script either magically hit it or they really do understand the ideology of American politics.

I doubt that when you have the popularity of Ezio. Plus I thought Bayek and Cassandra had better characters with more depth, but then after that many games there should have been improvements. In terms of most underrated Connor definitely, but that's because the whole game was underrated. Edwin Kenway was good as he changed as a character in the game. Shay Cormac was interesting. I played Odyssey as both Cassandra and Alexios and the story made a lot more sense being played as Cassandra. I've only played Valhalla as male Eivor so I can't comment on the female version. The game I wish they would just get on and do a remastered PS4/PS5 version for is AC 1 with Altaïr that includes the prequel and post.
@@tonywilson4713 nah lol most people i see *now* dedicated fans or just casual (we didn't had the same type of experience and interactions with people about the character so i see why you would disagree) are understandable and have a lot of sympathy and love toward Connor's character, they appreciate him for who he truly is, and mostly they doesn't misinterprete/blindly hate on Connor's characterization and writing like some inogrants as they used to in the past and around the realise of the game, which was caused by some "fans" and other people who were acting like nothing more than some bunch of sheeps at jumping instantly on the hate wagon instead of actually rationally thinking and bulding they own personal perspective and point of view on Connor, and also because they weren't ready for such a direct and drastic change of protag (Connor and Ezio are literally the total opposite of each other) plus because of some others factors too. I agree 100%! Connor’s hood makes him look really intimidating and I love the blending together of his Native American heritage (the animal skin boots, tomahawk, and bow) with the Colonial influence of the jacket, breeches, and flintlock pistol.) All together it’s the perfect assassin’s outfit. The boots alone would make him stealthy as hell and he’d be a nightmare to fight in a dark alley or in a heavily wooded forest. Connor is by far my favorite Assassin in the franchise.
My first time playing the prologue, I remember thinking that Haytham was a real asshole for an assassin. By the end of the sequence, it all made sense as to why.

While I don't necessarily like the ending I do give them credit for doing their best to tie everything together. I liked Desmond. I know some players don't enjoy the modern times portions of the games but I thought the games had a much stronger narrative weight in the first 3. Great job presenting it. Thanks.
That’s one thing I did love about this game. It questioned the ideals of both Assassins and Templar’s. Both sides were right, but also wrong and if they could try coming together, they could achieve so much. This game also showed that not every Templar is a mustache-twirling villain like in previous games... too bad they ruined that in future installments.
Can't help but laugh at all the bugs and glitches even though connor is my favorite assassin. The serious moments broken when he walks through a horse or something always cracks me up 😆

Teenage Connor in Boston should not have been able to use the hidden blades, since he only gets them from Achilles afterwards. I truly love the AC games and 3 most of all, but stuff like this is just so immersion-breaking to me.

There is a book called Forsaken that explain why he join the templars and how get his abilitiy. Also his father trained when he have 8 yeaes old. But Edward didnt finish the training becuase he was killed when Haytham has 10 yeaes old.

Haytham was manipulating Connor from the start because he wanted him to join the Templar’s. Every step of the way, Haytham ridiculed Connor for his beliefs and ideals. Also, Haytham knew for a while that Charles didn’t burn Connor’s village but decided to sit on that information until the opportune moment instead of coming clean like he should’ve. Connor was 100% in the right to cut ties with Haytham imo
