  • Some have claimed the New Testament is wrong about Genesis 3:15? Is it just about the natural hatred between people and snakes or is it a foreshadowing of the biblical story of redemption? In this episode, we defend the Messianic interpretation of this verse. Dig deeper into the scriptures and let the roots of your faith be strengthened by this powerful podcast!

Gentlemen, these "The Case for Messiah" videos are so valuable to me, as a Gentile believer in Yeshua. Your respect for the challenges brought forth by those who disagree with Yeshua being Messiah, and the extremely careful and detailed refutations you offer up in the videos, make this series an amazing blessing. I pray that these videos will strengthen faith worldwide, and I humbly thank you for your work on them.

Sorry about the off topic, but somthing for you to concider EDIT about being gentile, and to me; as I have been pondering these things lately:
5Mos. 10:16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
Jer. 4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
Rom. 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Phil. 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus ( Moshiah Yeshua ) , and have no confidence in the flesh.
Col. 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ ( Moshiah ):
Jesus was light to the gentiles. Gentiles were people without God that is outside Israel. Now after Jesus Chrristendom is not anymore gentiles.

I have to thank the podcast presenters and their team for your videos! There is just so much packed in one verse of God’s Word that we all should be humbled to even be allowed to read it. In addition, I’m in such awe about how narrow my understanding of that Word was. Growing up, I was a Southern Baptist who always felt there was even more to what I was hearing. It took me over 30 years to engaging with different perspectives and using those perspectives to help me better understand and appreciate the Good News beyond my cultural or social lenses. Thank you

I read the gospels for the first time by myself. I had been to church when I was younger but my relationship grew more away from God as i got older. This was when i was 38 years young. After finishing the gospels and strengthening my belief and love for Jesus Christ i decided that i wasn't to learn gum the beginning. As soon as i read Genesis 3:15 (i haven't gotten to revelations, i only read the gospels up to this point, in fact i just started Nehemiah), i immediately thought that this is the first prophecy about Jesus Christ who will crush the serpent on the day of judgment. I think the Jewish belief that because Satan is still with us and therefore Jesus couldn't be the messiah is ignorant.

Good study from both of you. As a Christian Gentile, I took the entire bible (King James Version) for face value. Why? I was raised Roman Catholic, but left that because of the apparent hypocrisy and double standards and idolatry. Having had a personal experience with God outside of the Roman Catholic influence, I accepted Jesus Christ at his word. (Yes, God is not dead; Jesus Christ is alive and well. If God were limited to Old Testament prophets only, then how would that classify Him as Almighty? God still does as He pleases daily. And, I personally know of many, many other born again Christians, who, like me were saved off the streets by a miracle of God which we consider irrefutable, because God got Personal with each one of us.) Therefore, I simply accepted that the Messiah would crush Satan's head eventually. After studying the entire bible through, and since 1976, that has occurred numerous times, it is obvious that there is a war going on. The New Testament teaches we fight not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual powers in heavenly places.(Ephesians 6:12) The miracles that Jesus is recording to have performed (by many, many witnesses then and today in 2023) were done by the power of God. Jesus himself said he liberated a crippled woman from Satan (Luke 13:16), and he told his disciples (that includes all genuine believers) that we have power, that is authority, over all the power (the dynamic power) of the Devil.(Luke 10:19). But it's not a bragging right, it's our duty as Christians. (Luke 17:10) That said, Christianity has been perforated with too many erroneous teachings, and these are called Denominations. Roman Catholicism; Protestantism; Mormonism; and many more 'isms' have been taken as Christianity, but they clearly do not line up entirely with the scriptures. Idolatry, same sex marriages, lukewarmness, political correctness, all these things are refuted by God in both Old and New Testaments. The carnal mind cannot receive the things of God because they are spiritually discerned (2 Corinthians 2:14). It is amazing how God would turn me, from a Jew hater Gentile, into a God-fearing, Jew loving child of God; and all by his mercy, (Joel 2:28, Acts 2:17), and I look forward to the day (coming very soon) when God shall fulfill his promise to Israel, as he said in Jeremiah 31:31-35. Until then, brother Golan and brother Seth, keep clarifying the truth of the bible. Thank you.

so just because he brought up revelations 12 as if it happened when Jesus was born
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
the woman is not Mary its the church accepting christ would be its leader back just after the garden
      isaiha 14
12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
      revelations 12
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
isaiha 14 happend way befor Jesus was born
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the
      serpent.

Thank you very much for these videos. As an English speaking Gentile, I'm missing so much of the Hebrew context and nuance. The Bible is so much more amazing than anyone realizes.
Also, a thought I have about this topic: A large portion of the Bible is about literal, physical events, but it is not a valid argument that physical events are not also symbolic. Our society likes to act as if physical realities defeat symbolic meaning. On the contrary, I've come to be of the position that our physical world has inbuilt symbology in many, if not all aspects. I thought of this when interacting with someone who tried arguing that everything in the story of Jesus is drawn from sun worship (12 disciples and 12 months, Jesus is the light, death and resurrection being the setting and rising sun, etc.). I countered that it is the other way around: the story of Jesus was put into the design of the sun from the beginning. Likewise, even if there was a physical serpent with a physical curse placed upon it, that doesn't mean there is no symbology. On the contrary, the curse is a physical symbol and a physical reminder of things to come.

One takeaway that I gleaned from the material was in Genesis 22:17: "...Your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies." It brings to mind that Yeshua Ha'Messiah "stole (took possession) of the keys to sin and death" ( I hope that I have that correct.)

Another great discussion, thank you. Excellent. One small correction, I've heard this often from the pulpit and in discussions that women "don't have seed". That is outright incorrect. It's important to review female reproductive biology and see that the woman DOES have seed, the female ovum is more than equivalent to the male spermatozoa - it has there exact same function in the reproductive process, carrying the woman's genes, it is even motile and travels from the fallopian tubes into the uterus, so it's really incorrect to say that only men have "seed". Just like male and female plants, seed is seed in both genders. Love your podcasts, keep up the good work and thanks again. Shalom.

This passage from Isaiah 42 from the Old Testament was quoted in Matthew 12:17-21 about Jesus.
What is the context of Jesus and his apostles and what is the context of people now a days?
Who is the Creator of the Heavens, if Jesus is his holy son and servant, whom he support? Who called Jesus, who have taken and safeguard Jesus?
Isaias 42:42 Look! My servant [Jesus The Son of The Most High], whom I.. support!
My CHOSEN ONE, whom I.. have approved!
    I have put MY SPIRIT in HIM;
He will bring justice to the nations.
2 He will not cry out or raise his voice,
And he will not make his voice heard in the street
5 This is what the TRUE GOD, JEHOVAH says,
The Creator of the heavens and the Grand One who stretched them out (...)
    6 “I, JEHOVAH, have called YOU in righteousness;
I HAVE TAKEN hold of YOUR HAND.
I WILL SAFEGUARD YOU and GIVE YOU as a covenant for the people
And as a light of the nations
    --
And while praying to The Father, Peter and John called Jesus the holy servant anointed by the Father quoting Psalm 2:
Acts 4:24 On hearing this, Peter and John they raised their voices with one accord to God and said:
“Sovereign Lord, you are the One who made the heaven and the earth (...) 26 The kings of the earth took their stand and the rulers gathered together as one against Jehovah and against HIS.. ANOINTED .. ONE.. Acts 4:27
For truly both Herod and Pontius Pilate with men of the nations and with peoples of Israel were gathered together in this city against YOUR HOLY SERVANT, whom YOU ANOINTED,
    30
while you stretch out your hand for healing and while signs and wonders occur through the name of YOUR HOLY SERVANT Jesus.”
    Hebrews 5:5
So, too, the Christ DID NOT GLORIFY HIMSELF by becoming a high priest, but was glorified by - THE ONE - who.. SAID.. to.. HIM: “You are my son; today I have become your father.”

I will try to explain with a story. Once upon a time there was a boy who was not Jewish. He listened to the old people saying that if you want to be rich, you have to watch what the Jews are doing, that's the way to get rich. He didn't waste much time and set out to find a Jew to watch him and thus become rich. He searched and searched and finally found a Rabbi reading a book. He approached the rabbi and asked if you were Jewish. The rabbi answered that I am of Jewish roots. The boy was very happy because he thought that he would soon become rich, he just needed to watch what the rabbi was doing. So he stood next to the rabbi and watched what he was doing, but after a while he got bored, he didn't get rich and the rabbi was just reading a book. He thought that maybe he had misunderstood the words of the adults that he should do what the rabbi was doing and get rich that way. So he asked the rabbi what he is reading and the rabbi then answered him, here I am reading the scriptures. Can I read with you too? The rabbi was in tears because the boy reminded him of the son he lost in a concentration camp during the Second World War. He gathered himself quickly and asked the boy where his parents were, then the boy replied that I don't have them, I'm an orphan. Sit next to me and we'll read together. The boy sat down and the rabbi began to read aloud and the boy listened. The boy liked being with the rabbi and forgot that he wanted to get rich. This continued for years, and now that the boy has become an adult, he has created his own family and tells his son how he became very rich the day he found a rabbi to read the scriptures.

Also, don't forget the words of John the Baptist and Yeshua. In Matthew 3:7 John the Baptist called the Pharisees and Sadducees a brood of vipers or family of snakes. He was referring to them as sons or "seed" of the serpent (Satan). Yeshua in Matthew 12:34 says the same thing: "You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good?" Yeshua in John 8:44 calls them out again with the same language: "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do." Thus these verse explain how the Pharisees were spiritually or metaphorically the "seed" or offspring of Satan.

I now use each of your podcasts as my daily devotion to understanding 🔑 key points.
As a Gentiles believer there are soooooo many misunderstandings taught & preached to us it’s confusing.
Unless I study from the Hebrew language, perspective of interpretation, I will be lost…
    I value your teachings…

As a gentile Christian I have read through the Bible many times, but it is only in my later years that the Old Testament has taken on a greater importance. It is the foundation on which I can base my understanding of the New Testament and see the hand of God at work. I thank you for increasing that understanding. I pray the the Lord with continue to Bless you and Strengthen you.

You guys keep blowing my mind with these studies! I wish I knew Hebrew so I could see the connections you see. I also couldn’t help making the connection, since you were talking about the woman and her seed to the woman in Revelation and the son that was taken up to Heaven and the woman’s seed (offspring) “Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring-those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.” This is one of the many verses that prove that Christians will be here during the great tribulation (when the Antichrist makes war with the saints.)

  • @christopherchmiel7872

I truly enjoy listening to these guys. The depth of Scripture is mind blowing and it’s treasures when studied are riches beyond imagination. This topic can’t possibly be fully revealed in 45 minutes. The study of the serpent , snake by itself could take hours. I’ve never believed the Nakash was an actual snake, but rather Lucifer, the Shining One, a Cherubim or Seraphim depending on the language used. His victory in the Garden was death to mankind. Satan is for all practical reasons, the Lord of the Dead. The Resurrection crushed, ended his lordship. The Messiah is the the Truth, the Way, the LIFE. All that’s left for Satan is judgment. He no longer can lay claim to the dead. Interesting to compare Genesis 22:17 gates to the Gates of Hades and who owns the keys. It’s all synchronized.

The people of Turkey spent 2,000-years with their noses stuck in a useless book reading about an imaginary "God" and what a mythical guy "Jesus" said.
They did not have time to teach themselves about earthquake resistant infrastructure and home building. That was not in the Bible.
As a result in their recent earthquake 34,000 people died.
The people of New Zealand did not waste their time on religious rubbish. They taught themselves about how to build earthquake resistant infrastructure and homes.

This is absolutely amazing! Oh the insight! We need those who understand the Hebrew OT and the writings of the "Sages" to pick it apart for us and help us connect the dots. This answers many unanswered questions. Jesus did say "It is finished" ; that was the atonement for our sins, He being our Ben Joseph Saviour, but the final battle with the devil is yet to come, when He will be our Ben David! HalleluYah!

Just a great Bible study. The only weakness was the final comments on the serpent ,the satan and his demise. This is only adequately explained by Preterism as the end of the age, the second coming, the restoration, the peace of the Christ, and the resurrection all happened at A D. 70. (See Don Preston and his work). God continue to bless you!

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate these discussions along with the context and linguistic breakdown (Hebrew, Aramaic, etc)
I do have a question though as historically I’ve heard many American pastors proclaim that we battle an enemy already defeated. In this episode, you mention he was ‘humiliated’ but will be defeated at the second coming of the Messiah.
I would very much appreciate hearing more on that.
Also I’ve heard that the same word used for heel is used to represent the word ‘choice’. Is that correct? (Meaning he will strike your head and you will strike his choice).
Too bad the evolution of language gravitated to English rather than the language of the Bible!?
