It could be fire smoke damage, filth from flooding, or soot from a fireplace burping.

Wow. If you neglect a carpet for 18 years it’s going to be in pretty bad shape.
I put these long form videos on when I'm grading papers. There is white noise in the background and when I get sick of reading I can watch the rugs for a bit. It seems to keep me more focused than music. Not sure what that's about, but you got me to finals week and I am very grateful. Thank you! (do you think that you could write where the rugs come from when they come up? Found in barn. Flood damage. Smoker's attic. Chicken coop. That sort of thing? It's not necessary, but I spend too much time speculating and making up stories)
Oh my gosh yes! I love watching these to focus as opposed to music. The only reason I get off task when listening to music is because I day dream about being in the music video and I dance and sing and eventually find my way onto the wrong train of thought.

I always get caught off guard with the patterns underneath the grime. Can I ask that you keep the full clips of you squeegeeing the carpet and your workstation? I love seeing the dirty water gather and being pushed into the ditch lol

Has anybody have ideas on how this helps people relax and fall asleep. Once, my son came into my room while I was watching the videos. I had fallen asleep!
For me it's always the drone of either Dirty Reynolds or R2. The noise of a dryer does the same. I usually watch the videos at least twice as I always miss parts the first time :)
It helps me as well. I think it's because it's just the sound of the water and the slow movements no talking or music. I enjoy this as well therapeutic

watching rug cleaning videos have probably saved me from going clinically insane so seeing this is like coming across the holy grail.
for context, I play hypixel skyblock and i'm pretty sure that everyone in that community is never going to mentally recover from the 10s of thousands of hours they poured into the game.

I have never, ever found an ASMR video that actually put me to sleep, until this one. Between the power washer and the machine that spins in circles to scrub in the shampoo, I dozed off two separate times to this video. Wasn't even that tired when I started watching.

He rescues dogs from the streets of Serbia and grooms them for free so they can get adopted. He only grooms HEAVILY matted dogs now.

I don’t understand how it’s possible to smear the carpet like that, but at the same time, it was not rotten, not trampled, not chewed by rodents, not stained with substances that cannot be washed off. I think they smear them themselves, so that they can then wash them and put them here. I don't see any other explanation.

At first I was annoyed by the roll up and squeegee between every scrub, then I watched some without it and was annoyed they didn’t clean underneath it every time to start fresh. So, apologies at judging your technique, it is obviously the only one that works! 😂
I used to be able to fall asleep, no problem, but now, for some reason, I struggle to stay asleep. Maybe it's an age thing. Never mind these videos allow me to fall asleep and stay asleep, and I wake up at a natural time. Thank you for these videos.
