One thing I do to reduce wear and pilling on my clothes is to always turn them inside-out before washing and drying them. It helps reduce wear on the fibers as the clothes are tumbled against each other, and helps them look newer, longer. Thanks for the review!
I worked in construction and preferred the 874, they are comfortable, especially in the Texas heat, and durable. My first pair lasted me 7 years. I’m very fortunate to live 20 minutes away from the factory/outlet center in downtown Ft. Worth, Texas. They have my size, are very affordable and have other products they offer from shirts to jackets. Keep making these videos they are very informative.
The 874 looks so good on you but i feel like it looks way more loose on me even though i have the same size. I would appreciate a video about the 873s.
I felt the same way when wearing them for the first time in high school. If you're used to wearing slimmer fitting pants that's just how you'll feel until you get comfortable/used to wearing 874s. 873s are pretty bad fitting in my opinion. They fit slim around the thighs and then have a very loose fit like 874s below the knee. They look really awkward, but that's just my opinion.
Another thing to know, is that once you start with Dickies, they are a addictive. I started with this brand about 18 years ago as I wanted something a bit more loose fitting and baggy during the time when skinny and slim pants were in fashion, well today I have so many pairs of Dickies that now Dickies is just about all I wear. While I am a big fan of 874 and have many 874 pants, my favorite is actually the Dickies double knee work pants as they are the most baggy of the work pants and in my opinion look good on me.
I bought 3 pairs of 874s before leaving the USA in 2007 and they're only wearing out now. I'm going to order some more but am wondering has the sizing changed or are 874s still the same. You might be the man to tell me???
@@dobman2011 Pretty much the sizing is the same. However since 2007 they have some more sizing options in addition to "original" they also have "slim", "tapered", "loose" etc...if you want the same as in 2007 you want to go with "original"
I love my Dickies cargo pants. It has a cell phone pocket, which really comes in handy because I spend so much time on teams. I always keep about 14 pair. Dickies is a go to for manufacturing and warehouse. Carhartt is go to for outdoor jobs like construction.
I buy 874’s cuz for skaters they’re cheap have great comfort and durability, the cargos as well. From the fashion point of view I can see why some many people like them they look great for a casual look.
Because they sit high on the hips, you might want to size up. For instance if you normaly wear a 34 (waste size) you may need a 36 in this model. With the 873 and 872 you can choose the size, you normally wear.
I like to get them two sizes too long to get that juicy cuff, that white stitching looks so good on top of a shoe. I’m usually a 32 inch inseam and I go for the 34 inseam. Subbed btw
For actual work. These are cheap and easy to clean. I work as a mechanics apprentice and still these no matter how dirty or oily these get these are always easy to clean and retain their shape nicely I recommend for anybody in the automotive industry
If you prefer your 874s brand new and to be really soft broken in and yet durable, here me out. Get one big full container of Iodized salt, put every bit in a 5 gallon bucket, and start running hot water, not steaming hot but warm enough not to damage the color. Fill the bucket up with iodized salt, and enough water to cover the enire pant but not way above them. Let the pants soak for one or 2 full days with something to weight it down and once done take it out and throw it in the washing machine. I use this technique for when i buy 4-6 pairs at a time, and throw them in the washing machine all together as separate load. There is another guy explaining the process on youtube if you're skeptical
I went with the same size of my 501's (W33) for the 874's, which for me is already one size bigger than usual. They are very tight, specially when sitting down. Might have to get a W34 next time. Also, they don't stretch at all like other pants after a few wears. Didn't expect a baggy chino to fit this tight in the waist, but men they do look amazing with Chuck 70's and New Balance 990's.

I just recieved the flex for Christmas, so I nees a little more time. But the flex collects more random particles for aome reason. Great review. You are awesome!
I had to size up in these a little higher and I usually have to size up in general in my jeans to a 38 to accommodate for my thighs when in reality if I had slimmer legs I could wear a 34-35, I went up to a 40 for these and they feel really comfy, and I just love stuff with history so trying these on with my red wing iron rangers was a very good feeling

the pilling is, like said, due to repeated abrasion and rubbing of the same area but also because of the high polyester content.
Good video and explanation 👌🏽 what is the color of the Green one? Or do you have a direct link to it?
Much thx 🙏🏽
There should be a link but I think it is called olive green
So, de-pilling the pants c.q. removing pills from the pants can be done by de-pilling via a depiller, effectively depilling all pills from the pants and leaving behind a pant without pills?
iooooo! That’s crazy this video was fire🤝
I just get 2 of those one Violet and the another one light coffee. Y feel right now how the pants get the shape of my legs! Hahaha 👌
Yo trabajé en una de las Fábricas de Dickies y me tocó elaborar algunas partes del pantalón 874, lamentablemente el año pasado cerró sus puertas en mi ciudad😔
Gracias por tu labor, y lo siento que cerraron 🥲
Do they sell any for bigger men? And if they do and I ever decide to buy some would I have to order them the same size as some regular pants, or how would the sizing work?
How big are we talking ?
If you're worried about it being too tight dickies has a loose fit 874 its double knee, sits on the waist, and has an extra pocket on your right thigh
You should do a video on the wrangler wrancher
I’m 5’6 waist 34 what would you recommend for length?
