I worked for CSX transportation as a brakeman, it's very hard work and it's dangerous too.. I worked for CSX for few yrs, now I'm chemist for big laboratory in Virginia, no more outdoors working.... When I worked for CSX, I never put on my application or resume but I had a bachelor in science in chemistry.... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was also familiar with all the chemicals we would haul though Virginia... And I never said anything to the engineer.... It was a good learning experience, plus I got to see a lot of things I would have seen otherwise.... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
i was a switchman for the chicago and northwestern/union pacific... i worked with a switchman who had a chemistry degree... i always though what a transition to go from schooling in chemistry to railroading
@25mfd working on a railroad it's good physical work, working in a laboratories not physical, it's all mental.... Sometime working with your mind, could be worse than working physical.... 😂😂😂😂😂
Doug is now on the Start Program for not wearing his safety glasses. Doug will be watched by the drone flew by the Road Foreman. Doug will be then brought up on charges because he did not use Trip Optimizer even though he has been an engineer for 34 years. Doug will be held out of service for an extensive time with no word on when or if he will be allowed to come back to his job. Norfolk Southern - Harassing and intimidating our employees since 1982
Exactly what I was thinking. I mean if you can hack it, more power to you. I dunno, I delivered mail to slums for a good part of my USPS career. Some places where cops don’t go without backup. But, I was home (eventually) at night. As much as it sucked, I don’t think I could have hacked the RR lifestyle, at least not being married anyway.
You have to be one of the BIGGEST Idiots in the world ! I’m Doug’s wife and He is and was ALWAYS present in our Children’s life ! I sense some jealousy! 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏾♀️SMDH !

Schweeet!
Proud of you, we all here in Margaret, Alabama so happy for you and your family.
My brother in Christ. 🎚️ Great video. Great guy. Great family man. Stay safe getting that NS💰. 🙏🏿
Hope you keep on doing this. My dream is to be a NS Engineer.
You may want to consider something else. NS is a vile terroristic employer to work for.
I like that video! Thanks for sharing that. It's interesting to see some behind the scenes of your operations.
I live in pa and I never saw this until this video awesome!
My daddy retired from n&s. After 38 years before them he worked for Nf&d. An n&w.
Awesome video! Thanks for all you do! #Thoroughbred #TeamNS
I'm strongly considering this career. What schooling did you take to get this?
Nice video
Wish I could be a engineer that’s my dream job but mid 30s with kids is t the ideal thing rn
WOOOOO Norfolk Southern is the best railroad company in the continent
Yes it is that's why I like Norfolk southern because my line is the NS line piedmont subdivision
@@NCandVArailfanner Hi.

It takes all Railroads to move goods.
@@csxns Yep.
Nice. Now how about a day-in-the-life of the machinist who fixes the stuff T&E breaks?
@@maestromecanico597 lol no really because y’all do magic for us!
@ Thank you. We make it look easy (or in my case made it look easy).

That’s my dad 🦾🦾🦾
I wanna drive the train! Give me a call, when can I start!
You don't drive a train, you run it. There's no steering wheel lol. Be careful old heads will yell at you if you say drive haha.
Is this the prequel to Unstoppable?
LMFAO

NS engineers trying not to crash the train (impossible)
Hopefully the organization doesn't give this man forced early retirement
Termination is not considered forced early retirement.
