I owned a 1912 Craftsman in Iowa for six years, and I see so many similarities in my mostly untouched home. The big, unbroken pane of glass in the front window is like two side windows I had, one in the living room and one in the dining room. The woodwork inside the house is identical - wide wood around the top of the main rooms and around the baseboard. Identical clawfoot tub. I couldn't see in the video, but I'm willing to bet there was a mirrored medicine cabinet with beveled edges to the mirror. How I miss that house! Thank you for this video!
This house has been kept in its original conditional and maintained all these years. All of this is original not restored. It is incredibly beautiful! The wall paper in the dining room is an amazingly original. All of the hardwood floors and woodwork are original.
So gorgeous when these old homes are kept and/or restored to their period appropriate design. It is very pleasing on the eye, and such a wealth of information into history.
Glad you enjoyed the tour. Many of the houses in this neighborhood are beautiful. This one is all original wood and wall coverings cabinets, etc. It has been so well taken care of that these photos even show the original wool carpets.

How exciting that you are going to be building a Craftsman! The wood in the house is principally oak. You can see the grain of the oak in many places in the video. However the top of the crown moulding is actually walnut. You can see the contrast of the color as well as the grain in the living room photos.

Kitchen is hideous...nothing wrong with bringing in some new elements...looks like grannys house
That stove is awesome though, a keeper for sure.
