In this lesson, you will learn how to multiply binomials that contain radicals and simplify the result. Part of doing this is ensuring that the denominator of the result does not contain any radicals. You will learn how to rationalize the denominator of the answer, which just means that we multiply by the conjugate in order to remove any radicals from the denominator in the answer.

FOIL or FIOL - its the exact same thing. Personal preference. Doing it your way and as long as you get to the same answer its 100% fine. Thank you!

Why aren't you multiplying in the FOIL order? It just makes it confusing. You are doing a FIOL order, for some reason.
