I own an 84 Eldorado Biarritz convertible with 40,000 original.miles on and I have done a lot of research on these Biarritz convertibles,in 1984 with Cadillac and ASC they produced 3300 of these cars in 1984 and in 1985 they produced 2800 of these fantastic and very rare beautifully designed automobiles. Thank you, DB
Love it! But the bad reputation of those 4100s is legitimate; I had an '86 Fleetwood coupe with that powerplant. When it was running, it was smooth, quiet, and way more powerful the numbers suggest. A gem. But oh my God, it was a new problem every week with that thing, and it only had about 60K on it when I bought it.
For some reason I remember the HT-4100 being very powerful in the 85-88 deVilles and Fleetwoods (you could make the front wheels spin) but not so much in the Seville and Eldo. Maybe it was because they were much heavier vehicles?
Mr Flemming you are all class my friend. I have been watching your videos for a while now and your always professional and consistent. You run a beautiful shop there. I have seen many wonderful cars that I would lobe to own. Keep up the great work!
LOL,, they NEVER tell on the internet do they. They want you to call that way they have your info and can bug hell out of ya to buy this one or another in their fleet.
I put studded snow tires on this beast and it could climb trees. With the engine and front wheel drive, I could drive up our snow covered hill where my wife's 4wheel drive bronco stalled.
I have a 1985 Eldorado Biarritz ASC Convertible with special hood and trunk straps, it has 45000 or so in joy rides and never a repair. Its like new with white Top and red and white interior. Museum Quality and originality. Car was driven a few months by Dealerships Wife and they been in heated garage all these years. Most expenses american car that year and we paid 31000 Dollars and a perfect 73 Eldorado in trade just to get this special car!
My 83 Fleetwood Brougham with the HT4100 finally snapped at 159,000 miles :( I could never figure out why Brown Brothers Cadillac kept saying they can't believe I had so many miles on it when I took it in for service. I was lucky.

My dad owned Chrysler's, Lincoln's and Cadillac's in the fifties, sixties and seventies. They were beautiful vehicles. You can say what you want about this 1985 Cadillac eldorado convertible it's still one of the sharpest car on the road today.
I would love to hear your viewpoint from the unhappy owner of the yellow olds 442? He has a video showing the car that is suppose to be restored from the ground up but the car looks like shit in alot of different places on the body and paint.
The 4.1 liter engine sucks. They were prone to failure, instead of rebuilding them most people removed them and installed the 4.5 liter which was much more reliable.
Many people seem to have problems with these cars. They hate everything about them even their interiors. It's sad that people don't know a car when they see one:/

They'd have probably made more if it had a decent decent
don't smash the trunk. It is supposed to pull down automatically.

Note also on the trunk its missing the wreath around the crest.
The music does not go with this type of car for the video.
Why don't you just tell me what that White Eldorado would cost me in cash? Would that not be the best thing to do????
At my shop we called this engine the Hitch and Tow!😂

I had 1 too,it pulled like a tractor through new England snow drifts!
I wonder if they ever got those 4 way disc brakes figured out? Always problems and the rotors cost a fortune back then.

Hey Tony your alright...
It was as called HT 4100. HT stood for high torque. But the HT was nicknamed Hand Tightened BY GM mechanics because every bolt became loose over time.
LOL! not High Torque. HT stood for High Technology. I've heard mechanics in the past refer to it as "Hopeless Trash".

This guy is the dictionary definition of a car salesmen... lots of words but NOTHING being said.
why's the t-shirt tucked in in front and not in the back?

Showing off the belt buckle and jeans!
Showing that belt off
Not to be picking a nit, but "Biarritz" has two "R"s. :-)
I'd also love to see a shop tour video and how you prep your cars.

STAY AWAY FROM THOSE 4100 V8'.s!!! What a pain in the rear!
T Wise II he said it got rebuild. but you can still see his smoking from the rear when he pulled off at the intersection SMH
T Wise II why stay away from those?
And not one mention of the horrible 4100 engine,, rebuilt or not,,,, still smoking!!
Why
@@mojaave cars are too heavy for their size (4.1L) blocks and heads were casted too thin and they warp/crack often.
Gee I was mis informed all those years. LOL
I'm hearing a lot of bad things about the 4100.
The 4.1 liter engine sucks. They were prone to failure, instead of rebuilding them most people removed them and installed the 4.5 liter which was much more reliable.
The trunk supposed to have shocks
Personally I'd Swap the HT4100 for a 4.9 also don't be an idiot. You probably just damaged the pull down mechanism for the trunk.
If you add a dual exhaust to the 4.1, you'll actually lessen the horsepower.
Also, the rumble mufflers are the worst thing to put on a Biaritz.
How can you tell when a used car salesman is lying??? When their lips are moving.
cut the music
Would you take 5,500
the pillow top seats LOL
METALBUG999

the 368 big block Cadillac V8 was a better motor.
Give you 5k and thats pushing it.
Semion, from GTA 5) This man right here is international businessman multiculturalist)
don't laugh. It's ultimate comfort.
When he pulls out onto the street, watch the smoke billow out of the back of it. And the engine sounds like it's ready to blow. Pass on this.
and that exhaust looks terrible sticking out so far. HT4100 time bomb

32 grand new a base Eldo was 20 grand
oh, he is a powerful seller, but its a pity, that the engine is not powerful! In germany we say, the car is " lahmarschig"!
Your better looking than the car.
