When you think about it, Sonic has some simularities to Spider-Man, he's a light hearted heroic teenager whose colour scheme is blue and red and fights an iconic evil scientist who wears goggles.

A underrated thing about these videos is that they bring out both the good and bad of all these movies, IN exaggerated characters overly supporting both sides.
It gives honestly a better compressed analysis and review of the movie without at the same time implying you specifically should like or not the movie.
Basically, making we the watchers see a analysis review but make us form our own opinions at the same time.
Ryan Sonic did make a good point that none of the major character arcs were completed by the end, except maybe Gwen. Neither the Spot nor Miguel have completed their plans, and everything's just setting up by the end

See I like how honest Adventure Sonic is as he points out the flaws and isnt afraid to speak his mind neither.
References, cameos, callbacks, and symbolism don't make a movie good. They add to the experience of watching a movie by making it more enjoyable for people who enjoy those things, but the writing still needs to be good unless the movie is literally just not even a story.
Which is exactly what Across the SpiderVerse did. All of the cameos doesn’t affect the story, compared to what No Way Home did. Which is why I thought the Spectacular Spider-Man Cameo worked, because you don’t have to understand who he is because as far as you know, he’s just another Spider-Man from another dimension, like everybody else in the movie. No Way Home requires you to understand the Rami Trilogy, and the Amazing Spider-Man Duology because they’re relevant to NWH’s story… which is my biggest problem with NWH, that it’s fan service is part of the main story.

Well, Gwen's arc was completed on this movie, she did reconcile with her dad and accepted loss in her life, so there was a sort of conclusion to the story just like infinity war with Thanos
How did she accept loss when her dad stayed alive?
@@premydaremy Because of her friendship with Miles, when she lost Peter from her universe she started avoiding making friends due to fear of losing them. She didn't tell the truth to Miles because she feared it would lead to her losing him. She didn't want to get involved, but when her father left the police in a way to "support" her, she gained that courage again to fight for those who she cares without the fear of losing them.
To be fair, she accepted the lost of her father when she went to 99's side, but since the whole universe mess up happened her father got "saved", I don't think we're 100% sure he's not going to die due to 99's explanation of universes vanishing when the canon is broken

Disagree on that. The first movie was just a Hop Rip Off, and the 2nd Movie did rely on fan service too much. The Mario Movie at least had a balance, and Across the SpiderVerse did a better job at handling fan service, while still sticking to the plot and original characters.

@@ovahex If it’s anything about Spider-Man, then they always look for alternatives. They’ve had more than enough time to research ways of stabilizing universes to establish new canons. Gwen’s Dad doesn’t have to die since he quit the force; Miles already experienced enough loss with his own Uncle dying in his arms.
It’s also the fact that out of EVERY Spider there, only a handful really sympathize or want to help him.

Gwen didn't really change canon, it will likely still happen but later in her future when she's close to a police captain. All she did was change who that was going to happen to. You really think they wouldn't look for ways around that? Around deaths of people they are close to?

Plus it’s Spot that changed the new canon with the added power of a super collider, which was the main thing that set off more than half of these anomaly things anyway. In the end it’s still Marvel, so I’m more than sure they’ll have something that they haven’t considered yet to be the solution the next movie uses.
Plus it’s Spiders like Jessica with the line of “I just got over it” which is frankly absurd if you know any Spider. They all just deal with it and cope with it without fully healing from the experience.

2. The Canon wasn't changed once again, only this time in the case of Pavitr Prabhakar it was sped up since the guy was still supposed to die. Miles being there (which he wasn't supposed to be there) was the thing that changed the canon. His girlfriend's father was supposed to die anyways, and that was when he was supposed to die since that was the canon event that was stopped, specifically, the "police captain close to Spider-Man dies while saving a child from falling rubble". There are multiple canon events that aren't able to be stopped, say for example one of them stopped Uncle Ben's death or the death of their uncle, what then?
You think once they know about the death of a police captain that they'd just tell the police captain to quit their job? That's what Gwen's father did and as far as we know, that's the only way to "prevent" the canon event or shift it backwards.
Jessica likely meant that to "be strong". No one says "I just got over it" while not hiding any sort of pain, either that or she didn't lose her parents since neither of them were a police captain close to her. It's the specifics around each Spider person's scenario that makes it harder or easier to deal with than others.
I'm 90% sure they've all lost their parents before. Hell, Peter Parker's parents already die in canon and for all we know that is also a canon event.

I'd give it a 9/10. Spider-Verse 1 was better, more structurally sound and more emotional. The cliffhanger doesn't feel complete enough on it's own to make it a complete story, the emotional moments didn't land as much of an impact as the first movie and some of the meta commentary jokes felt kinda lame.
Still, very fun movie that touches upon interesting subject matters you don't expect a Spiderman movie to discuss, despite how fitting they are.
This is why every Spidey fan will never agree with each other.
This movie is an animated masterpeace and you can't change my mimd
